I have a 2004 nissan 350z gt, with 100k miles.
So 2 nights ago i was drifting several times enjoying myself anyways how it happened.
I had far too many revs on and dropped the clutch and as it started gripping up i heard a bang and lost drive.
I have blown a diff before because it was a welded one, but ive fit a low mileage standard diff and all has been well since, till now.
So i have replaced the propshaft with another standard CF prop, second hand but looks fine -- went in the splines okay, bolted up okay, anyways i start the car up and the wheels go round fine, i put it into first and let the clutch out the wheels speed up and seems fine - soon as i touch the throttle the traction kicks in and doesnt let me apply power. if i put it in to second and let the clutch out the traction light is already flashing and if i attempt to put throttle on then i hear a knocking noise sounds like towards front of car (gearbox) ? :/
All driveshafts seem okay, now here i have a couple of shocks...
Engine turned off - leave in any gear and i can still manually turn the rear wheels around .. surely they should lock out??
If i leave in neutral with car turned off i can maually turn one wheel and the opposite wheel turns the same way..
If i leave in gear with car turned off and i manually turn the wheel which surely shouldnt move... the opposite wheel rotates the oppposite direction...
Help will it be Diff issues or Gearbox issues??
:'( :'(
Thanks in advance currently not sure what to do now as on axle stands on my drive :(
