Download the service manual which you can find on this site - there is a section for diagnosing all AT faults... it is very useful. If you do end up taking it to a garage, i would take a print out of the AT section with you.

Can anyone offer me any suggestions to help my zed sell? Its been for sale for 10 days now on Autotrader, and i've not had any interest at all. It is the most basic spec you can get, but it has been looked after well. Im not in any urgent need to sell it immediately, but i could do with it going sooner rather than later. How long do these things take usually? Is it worth me putting on pistonheads too as a premium advert? I've had it on eBay twice, with only 5 watchers and no bids at all... Im thinking its the intake duct and eyelids putting people off... but i cant do anything about the duct, and not sure how easy it'll be to take the eyelids off as i siliconed them on... Any tips? PS - i sold that crappy 3-series... i made £30 on it too But im going to look at a 5-series on Friday which looks nice.

Yeh - dont do it. Its bloody difficult!! Easiest bet is to use a heatgun - like a paint stripper, and a flat blade screwdriver. But the glue they are held toegther with is like tar, and it is really manky stuff.... it is not something i'd like to do again in a hurry. personally i woulndnt use a screwdriver, patientence and a strong grip is all thats needed its takes a bit longer than you think to open them up , use a medium heat and dont leave the heat gun on a single part for to long or it will distort the lens or plastic Patience... that might be the best bit of advise yet.... i was impatient, and tried to use a screwdriver to pry them open. Paul, what do you do with the black goo... scrape it out or leave it where it is?

Have seen a few 3d movies now, and Avatar is the only one i'd recommend. Infact, Avatar was maybe the best thing i've ever seen at the cinema. Totally fantastic. As for the TV's at home.... i can see them going out of fashion very quickly. I was reading into the tech recently - there are currently 2 technologies being brought to market: 1. Have a kind of ridged lens on the tv, making it display alternate lines of a left and right picture. This will mean glasses are not required, but the viewing angle is very poor 2. Have glasses that have a lens over each eye that closes and opens in time with the refresh rate of your tv... i.e. the shutters closing 100 times a second. They will alternate each eye, and at the same time, display the left frame and then the right frame on the tv. I can see this working - but it will give you a serious headache i would have thought!!
