Would it really be £500? If Adam does these for $550 http://www.z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?mode ... rodid=2747 Are Berk the best ones going? Enough interest for a group buy to get a good discount?
  2. Depends on your budget mate, if I were you, get the best pads you can afford (Performance Friction or Ferodo are popular premium pads). If no track time, OEM disks will be ok. If you want something drilled or grooved, I have been very pleased with my DBA disks.
  3. Will hopefully get down to this again...will be very good with lighter evenings
  4. I think good pads will always yield benefits on normal road driving. The difference of an improved disk comes with track time I think - only then do the brakes get really hot and need the benefit of increased ventilation. Better disks will be more resistance to warping from continued high temperature as well. +1 on the disks being standard nissan items, only the calipers are Brembo.
  5. Personally, its a lot of cash for an import so bargain hard. A newer UK Zed could be found for similar money - as for the mods, the wheels are a big bonus, but dont pay a premium for everything else as surely the perk of modding is to get exactly what you want? Agree with Sunset too
  6. Did you give Admiral a call? I was with them when I turned 24 and including mods paid about a third of your quote. Deffo agree that adding a girl helps a lot!
  7. Gold wheels were ok (just) on a Cleo Williams. Havent look good on anything since, especially not a Zed! That said, if they are going cheap I'll take them and get a refurb!
  8. Dont pay income or cap gains tax on a property that is your prime residence. May be worth considering.
  9. If you are going 2 tone, Matt black and something with a deep shine could go well. Sure there are plenty of photoshop wizards out there to give you some illustrations
  10. And the other two? Mk1 e-type....DB9....original range rover? (cant let the Italians have everything!) A topic probably worthy of its own thread!
  11. nice work - just came in from cleaning and conditioning mine with Gliptone. That Connolly look like good stuff. You may need a really fine and soft brush to get into all the perforations though!
  12. Jeeze - so cheeky to try and charge you for warantee work! Hope it gets sorted mate though by the sounds of it might be a little longer
  13. Does the car idle properly? i.e. not set too low? How many miles has the car done? I know that there shouldnt be any running in gremlins but its a possibility. Certainly dont let the dealer fob you off!
  14. hmm I stand corrected then. I was under the impression that the oiling of the foam filters is what gave them good filtration properties.
  15. that looks brilliant. At first the thought of making a home made F1 car sounded daft - but seeing that as a road legal motor, big respect. Can you imagine nipping down to the shops in it? Not sure a 1.7 engine from a 33 would give it the Go to match the Show!
  16. Having used uprated panel filters on the Zed and other cars, not likely to get any improvement in sound or performance. It may be pschological but I felt like the throttle was a tad sharper and on a long run got slightly better economy. Regardless, they will put cleaner air into the engine compared to a paper filter so good for longevity I guess
  17. For £35 I will take one Have used Opie before and very impressed with the service
  18. Well done for getting the coaching thrown in Hoff - is this weekend / weekday?
