  1. Decisions decisions!!! thanks for the opinions guys... If reliability was not an issue it would have to be the TVR but I just have the money to keep it going from the stories that I hear.. Comes down to the Noble or the exige S Heart says Noble but sense says the exige S plus it will be far cheaper to buy and run in the long run... None the less Ill take all three for a test drive... Anyone wanna buy my Z??
  2. hhmmmmmmmmmmm gonna do some more research on nobles
  3. Noble was top of my list until I heard about all the reliability issues plus as they are a small company....who knows they may do a TVR and go bust and then what....
  4. after nearly 4 years of Z power i think its time to move on. I dont really use the car in the week for commuting to work so Im thinking of trading her in for something a little more focused.. Three cars top of the list in order are Lotus exige S Noble GTO TVR 350 Thoughts please...and not interested in Caterhams. Definately leaning towards the lotus due to the overall package of running costs, reliability and performance and very good examples start from around 23K My 55 plate z (UK GT Spec) is completely mint but has 54 000 miles on the clock (never had any probs with the car).. Not expecting much for the car as i know the values a lot but if I can get between 11-13K that would really help out.
  5. Got a golf ball size dent on my driver side door. Seriously hacked off about it but heh what can you do Can anyone recommend any dent removal companies in my area. Ideally one that is mobile Cheers
  6. Good question. I showed him the unit and when I actually asked him can I drill it out he actually laughed at me which pi**ed me seriously off! Now I laugh at him cos the £100 that he wanted will now be spent on something slightly more rewarding for myself! Thanks again
  7. You guys all inspired me to give it a go! So...with the use of a chissel and a screw driver (dont ask!) I managed to get the stud out of the hole without damaging the thread. New aerial is in! Yet another reason for using this forum and being a member Thanks again for everyones help!
  8. maybe its safer to in from the inside just not sure how difficult removing the panelling will be??
  9. lol! im in west hampstead London Do you think its literally a matter of drilling into it to sort it out then. Im guessing that will be with a hand drill whill will be difficult to keep straight and knowing my luck it will slip and ill scratch the paintwork to @*!#!!
  10. thats exactly the problem. Do you mean drilling into it and then re-threading it? I know there is a tool you can get which allows you to drill a small whole then you screw this thing in and remove the original piece that was stuck in. Have no idea what the tool is called though Already have a new aerial good to go. Nissan wants the £100 just for the labour!
  11. thanks for intial thoughts guys. Its completely standard in terms of wheels and suspension. In all honesty I dont know if it was doing it before I had the brakes fitted as its been a while since Ive really taken the z for a serious blasting. Discs were changed by a mechanic so im sure he would have put the wheels on properly but ill check. Car has done 53000, its been a while since the wheels were balanced. (one thing i did notice when the tyres were off was some strange wear right on the inside lip) so maybe needs alignment checked as well but then again I havent hit anything)
  12. Long story but for some reason my aerial snapped off whilst i was driving with the end of the bolt stuck in the base of the aerial unit. I basically need a new base so that I can screw the new aerial in but NIssan are asking £100 in labour because they have to take the pannelling off from the inside to replace the base of the aerial. Seems a bit much for me. Anyone done this before and is it something difficult to do? Cheers
  13. Took the car out for a late night blast on a private road obviously Noticed that the car seems to shake through the steering wheel from 90 mph upwards and gets progressively worse. Ive just had the front brake pads and discs changed and know I need the same doing for the rear but dont think its a break problem because this happens when not braking Anyone have any idea what this can be? Cheers
  14. Hi guys My local mechanic will fit my new disc and pad setup for £40 which is a good price but he has never done a 350z. Is there anything he needs to be aware of? Ive never really got my hands dirty with the z so I have no idea myself but is it just a simple matter of replace the old discs and pads with the new ones?? Cheers Bru
  15. excellent, thanks for that round up mate. Very useful Brunel
