  1. Buying from a Nissan dealer doesnt always guarantee top quality IMO. As said this chap has some upmarket stock, so at worst make an appointment and go up to view the car. Do all the usual stuff - check out the buying guides on here, run an HPI, and then make sure you get to have a drive of it. It still has a bit of manufacturer warranty - see if the seller will arrange a separate stand alone one for you if you buy it. But then if you arent sure walk away - there are plenty of good Zeds about at the moment
  2. Thanks for all your responses. I'll see if they have a size that fits the bill. Now I just need to translate inches into cm's!!
  3. A bit random (and some may say cheap) but Im wondering if anyone who has genuine Nismo pillar covers could measure up the approx length / width of the logo?? Its just with the Courtesy Parts group buy going on I was thinking about getting a couple of Nismo stickers chucked in with the bits and bobs I am looking to get to put on top of my boggo carbon covers? Has anyone else done this? Just I still cant believe that the genuine Nismo ones are over $150 I could approximate the measurements from pics etc but just want to get as close as possible and see if they stock a sticker close to my requirements. Cheers Ross
  4. I got my ali sill plates from these guys about 2 year ago and I got a really good deal as the £ was so strong - managed to miss the customs charges as well so that was a result! I'd be interested in a few of the accessories - I quite like the look of the Z watch and a few other bits (Nismo Keyring etc etc) Reckon they'd put them in with the sill trims if the group buy goes ahead?
  5. Looks like you are going to be very competitive on the price front!! I'd be interested in the door switch areas, maybe even the interior vent trim if its flexible enough to fit the countours? Front lips are also of interest.... I'll keep my eyes peeled for your interior group buy thread
  6. Just had to post a couple of pics of the car we have just been out and about in all afternoon. The Z turns heads but this thing stops people in their tracks They dont expect to see 2 20somethings in it when they see us coming round the corners Its my Dad's HMC Austin Healey Replica, 3.9l V8 (makes a cracking noise), wire wheels and a few individual characteristics shall we say. Anyways heres a few pics, not everyones cup of tea but I love it
  7. If I remember rightly there are a couple of plastic "screws" that need undone and then the rest are just trim clips that you pull away. Dont pull the sill too hard or the clips will break that will make getting them to fit properly again. If you take your time and be gentle you'll be fine
  8. Looking good - I take it that it isnt quite as loud as the K1? Is it more akin to a Nismo?
  9. Are there any how to's or guides to remove the hubs and the rear shoes? Is the hub held on with the 5 bolts that sit behind where the disc mounts?
  10. I knew that you guys would come up trumps The tapping the studs through was what i expected, but how do you then get them back in? I just replaced the front discs and pads and there seemed to be a lot (forgive my tech ignorance) of gubbins behind the hub that would prevent me getting the longer studs in? It looks like some kind of thin metal 'sheild'? I take it that the rears are the same setup?
  11. I've just recieved the same kit as mentioned in this thread - system 6 i believe? I bought them from a member on here so cant return them if i cant get them to fit. They are the bolt through system - do I need to remove the OEM wheel bolts? How do the new eibach ones then fit? If I cant work it out I'll get my mate at the garage to do it. Just I have the car up on a jack after doing the discs and pads today and wanted them fitted if possible
  12. May well have been Ian but without seeing the reg I couldnt be sure. He looked fairly young - Id say early to mid 20's.... Must admit I was a bit disappointed he had the bungs in his exhaust - let it scream man ha ha!!
  13. Spotted a GM with what looked like 19" Hanzo's and a K1 exhaust with a private plate at the end of Osbourne Road heading towards Jesmond Road / Cradlewell. Anyone on here?
  14. Thanks stew Note to self - must be more observant before posting
  15. Been on some bumpy roads today (which may or may not have caused this) and noticed something glinting at me when we stopped and looked back at the car. The plastic tow eye cover had mysteriously come off en-route leaving the shiney bit behind on show!! Anyone know where I can get one (or has a spare one) to clip into an 04 bumper? Cheers Ross
  16. I've just bought a set of spacers too and Im hoping not to run into any difficulties when fitting mine. I only have the standard tools for removing the lug bolts that came in the car's toolkit. If this doesnt fit I'll need to move onto the socket set, but im not sure if I have the right attachment. If need to get an adaptor for my socket set to get the eibachs to tighten properly what size do I need - is it 21mm? Sorry for the basic question just Im at work and wanted to go to the local Motorworld on my lunch to get the appropriate bit Cheers Ross
  17. Looks spot on and the stance is perfect! Very cool
  18. Ive got the pipercross kit on my Z and its cracking. Makes a great noise when you give it the beans Good price you got it for though - I got a bargain as part of the ESR clearance but still paid more than you. Good find
  19. If someone can tell me how to get the cover off I'd be up for one of these! Whats the turnaround time like? Just me and my dad got a photoshoot set up for our cars in the next couple of weeks and would need it back for then if possible....
  20. Hey martybhoy! to the club! Great choice of car I've added my responses to your questions but much more knowledgeable people will be along soon Q. Is there any insurers that you guys seems to see younger drivers getting better quotes than that from? A - I got a craking deal from elephant / admiral for the Z. came out way less than a TT or a Boxster when I was searching. I found that when I added my girlfriend as a named driver (even though she had 0 no claims) it came down loads. There are discounts on insurance to be had from off here too so give them a try too Q. It will be probably an older zed such as 03-05 but I would like to stick the new bulge bonnet on it, do the old paint codes match the new one? and also will it fit? and one more where can i find one? A. As far as I know its a stright swap and paint hasnt changed but some colours may not have been available when the bulge was introduced so a respray would be in order. Getting one - Nissan is obvious start but Im sure ZMANALEX could help, or breakers etc etc if your lucky Q. And what about carbon fibre door covers (on that bit along the glass) if you know what i mean? where can i get those? A. If you wnat Nismo ones they quite rare and fairly expensive - around £150 I think? I got a set of plain carbon ones from US Ebay over a year ago for about £40 which are still going strong... Q. is there any good websites for general asthetic improvements? A. Plenty - Google (and the traders on here) are your friends. There are few things that you can do to a Z that you cant get from someone on here! If every spare penny I have wasnt going in my wedding fund I'd have paid most of them a visit by now Hope this helps a bit - roll on August!! Ross
  21. I always used to use them and glad to hear their standards have been maintained! I'll be needing a oil & filter, general look around and maybe some new sparkies as she approaches the 50k mark so I'll be giving them a shout Did they give your book a stamp or was it more of an interim service?
  22. Im no wheel expert (Im sure one will be along soon), but I think an offset of 35 will result in the wheels sitting very "inside" the arches. You may well need spacers or a lower offset to get them out and over the brembo's too. I may well be wrong but thought I'd mention before you splash any cash
  23. Sorry if this is a repost but was over on http://www.my350z.com and found this link: http://www.gtrblog.com/wp-content/uploa ... ls-001.jpg Seen them on a couple of Yank 370Z's but never on a 350Z? I quite like the look but they would be mega bucks to get hold of over here...but Im sure the replica houses will churn them out soon enough....
