  1. I think it looks Understated yet mean if such a thing is possible
  2. The caliper bolts can be a bit of a bu**er to get off as I found last week, but apart from that its a straightforward job. If he got all the proper tools he'll be fine - £40 is a great deal . Most of the places I tried round near me wanted £100 - £150
  3. Sorry if this is a repost but I've just taken advantage of this today http://www.autotrader.co.uk/CARS/mot/mot_centre.jsp Only £27 for a MOT isnt bad
  4. Thats the guide Im using! Ok so if i use that principle then i rotate the bolt upwards. I'll give it a go and report back. Any other tips on loosening very tight bolts?
  5. Righto, car is jacked up and front wheel is off but have already met with a snag - I am trying the remove the 2 big (22mm) bolts that hold the caliper on. Ive soaked them in WD40 but I cant get em to budge in either direction!! Which way should the bolt rotate to loosen it as I look at the disc? Im currently doing the driver side front - do i turn it down towards the ground(clockwise as i look at it) or back up the other way? None of the guides say which way it should turn - i knew it would be stiff but it would help if anyone has an idea and can post back quickly so I can crack on!! Thanks for your help
  6. Thats great guys thanks - Im sure Ive got a big screwdriver that I can put to use!! I'll keep you updated as to how I get on:thumbs:
  7. Hi Im going to be replacing my full brake setup of F&R Pads and F&R Discs next week. After reading a few how to's I reckon that as long as I take my time and keep my reference material to hand I should be ok (touch wood as Im no mechanic) Many of the guides make reference to having a c clamp to force the pistons back into the caliper once the old pads have been removed. Do I need said clamp or will a bit of old fashioned brute force do the trick? If I need it then I need it, but just wanted to double check before I get too far and realise its an integral part of the process... Cheers Ross
  8. Sorry if this is a repost but just seen a poster for this event http://www.jdmallstars.com/ Looks like it may well be a decent day with plenty stuff going on. Think I'll be going on the Sunday as I'll be taking my seat at St James Park on Saturday afternoon to watch my team begin to dig their way out of relegation trouble by beating Chelsea Anyone on here going along?? Ross
  9. Im liking that combo A bargain on the wheels as well - wouldnt have considered gold on red but looks good!
  10. Looking good - was very tempted by those carbon goodies myself after I added my Pipercross until I realised I needed new brakes Will look great when you get all your planned bits and bobs installed
  11. My god you have to be quick on here dont you!! In the (unlikely event) that the above all fall through I'll take my place in the queue...
  12. Wheels look great and sounds amazing - very Need to get some more "in motion" vid's done...
  13. Cheers guys - the temptation was to try and move the fences, but lots of CCTV around there and didnt fancy a visit from plod. Yeah there are lots of good spots - the 4th and 5th ones are outside of Spillers factory on the Newcatle side. Some good underground car parks as well for the more "urban" shots. Yep Chilli comes up a treat and really shows of the Z's lines
  14. After getting some inspiration from another member, couple that with a decent day I decided a few snaps were in order. Not a modded machine but I still love it
  15. I must admit I have a soft spot for the R34's - must be down to all that Gran Turismo as a kid. Plus I went to the UK motorshow when I was about 16 and you could donate to charity and get taken out in a car for a blast - there was a line of Porsches, Ferraris, Nobles and a Bayside Blue R34.....well no competition in my eyes It was like sitting inside a Playstation - and from that moment on I've always wanted one....no where near as pretty as the Z though... My fiance's boss has just bought a Chilli Red R34 GTR - has 18" Nismos , coilovers and a huge HKS exhaust. Im getting a shot next weekend so I'll try to post up some pics
  16. Looks ok in my opinion - I've only ever seen 1 Solstice in England and it was certainly turning a few heads....

    Rear Discs

Im just reverting to my northern / scottish roots and looking to save a few pennies Has anyone recently upgraded their rear discs who wants rid of their standard ones? Must be in decent condition with plenty life in them , no warps, cracks etc etc. Just want to avoid paying crazy Nissan prices and dont really need any upgraded ones..... Let me know Cheers, Ross
  18. Just something to watch out for with the LED's - I fitted some similar to those a few months ago and literally within a week they were flickering on and off. Someone will be along to correct me Im sure but I think its caused by some type of voltage / amp issue as the LED's draw less power than the standard sidelights?? I think PIAA do a set with an inbuilt resistor but didnt fancy the £30 pricetag. Fingers crossed your ones last longer than mine did - if they do I think I'll have to get a some as they look so much better with the Xenons
  19. I always give Z's a flash and a wave but you were the first one to respond in months ha ha Welcome to the club
  20. Was on a day out down to York - flashed and waved to an Azure coupe who returned the favour I was in my Chilli - anyone on here?
  21. Looking Were they easy enough to fit?

    First drop

Looking good Thats just seconds from my flat at the Baltic - I may just have to steal your idea and take some snaps there myself! I'll keep an eye out for you - if you spot a chilli 04 Z or a Silver Smart (fiances car) giving you a wave it will be me!!
  23. I've just installed a Pipercross Induction kit which I picked up for a great price as part of the ESR clearance. Im not sure if Andrew has any kits left on the list or not? It certainly makes a good noise when you give it the beans and even when just accelerating in a higher gear it gives a nice rumble as the revs pick up
  24. I'm liking the look of the quads The smaller ones look cool - keep us updated on the progress!!
  25. I recently managed to score one of the piprcross inductions kits from ESR's clearance sale for a brilliant price. It arrived last week in perfect condition, however there were no installation instructions in the box? I can't find any on the web either? Im sure I'd be able to work it out but just wondered if I followed the JWT Popcharger install instructions in the guides section would that do the trick? What tools will I need? Will a trusty screwdriver set suffice or do I need a socket set etc? Cheers Ross
