  1. Kev, I removed your phone number (not good on an open forum). Also, a few more details, pictures and maybe a price may help get people interested
  2. We've only just electric up here, let alone specialist garages!
  3. Any reasonable independent should be able to fit an exhaust with no prior knowledge of a Zed (place I got mine done actually asked me what car it was as he hadn't seen one before). I wouldn't use a main dealer for an exhaust fitting, so try cmck13's recommendation (Agree that Crystals Nissan are excellent for servicing and more specialised Zed work though, even gave me a free diagnostic scan when my CEL light came on once).
  4. No worries, just let me know (though I'm not sure I could accommodate all 16 )
  5. Oh yeah, forgot about the previous year and my dad - let's hope things don't strike in threes
  6. I'd PM Sarnie - what he doesn't know isn't worth knowing.
  7. Yes, a difference of 0.13% (0.9mm difference in diameter)
  8. 225/40/19 are only 0.45% different from standard 225/45/18 245/40/19 are only 0.15% different from standard 245/45/18 I don't see the problem (personally I'd go for wider wheels with the wider tyres for looks, but that's just me).
  9. Martin, put me down for this (as usual, it will depend on the fixture list as to when I'll be a round, but I'll pop in at some point - hopefully in a better mood than last year, for which I still owe you some beers ) The G Man - if you're going to the track day at Blyton let me know - I'm only ten minutes from there and can come along for moral support/mechanics etc. Also a spare bedroom if you need one
  10. You know what an anagram of "Imogen Thomas" is? A smooth m****
  11. Scan done this afternoon No gown required, just had to empty my pockets and remove belt, so kept my ar*e concealed. Headphones with radio to help pass the time, so spent 15 minutes listening to Lincs FM arguing about parking charges in Scunny Hospital, when I'd just bought a ticket Weird experience - the noises and odd movements of the machine appeared completely random, but found it quite relaxing overall. Two weeks max till the results are with my GP so will report back. (and the nurse was quite cute as well)
  12. In the diesel X-Trail I always change up at 2000 rpm and tend to cruise at 1200-1500 rpm - best fuel consumption that way (45 mpg from a 2.2 DCi) In the 350, I find the best fuel consumption actually comes from keeping in the 2500-3000 rpm range, so I stick to the 10 mph for each gear rule (and usually average around 28-29 mpg). At 30 I would always be in third. That's the difference between diesels and petrols in my opinion.
  13. Cheap and easy would be somethng like an MGB; you can even buy brand new body shells for them still.
  14. I can be at point A if you like Rothers and we can go from there picking up eck1 at the start of the Snake Pass?
  15. So-called "text speak" really winds me up - especially when people use "m8", for example; what's the point? Is it that difficult or time-consuming to write four letters rather than two? I spell every e-mail, post and text correctly with the appropriate grammar, and tend to ignore anyone who doesn't do likewise. It's not just a generation thing either; a 44-year old ex-friend of mine did it all the time and I ended up not talking to her (even though she was 6 foot, blonde and gorgeous and mad). I wouldn't judge people solely on their spelling as I know a few dyslexics (ironically a nightmare word to spell), but text speak should be banned and the offenders shot in my opinion.
  16. if only It's going to be at S****horpe - I don't think they have fit, nubile anythings there She did ask me to remove any piercings if I had any that weren't "immediately noticeable", but then commented that at my age I probably didn't understand what she meant
  17. Are they the ones where your ar*e hangs out the back Will do
  18. Thanks for all the support guys - hope it gets sorted and I can get back to
  19. As some of you know I was suffering with a bad back at Wales (and the week before and after as well) - saw my GP last Wednesday, and am having an MRI scan tomorrow morning! Who says the NHS is no good No idea what to expect as never had one before - any tips, or do I just lie there and think of England Think of me everyone
  20. Sorry, only just noticed this has been replied to - thanks for the offers guys, but I'm sorted now
  21. Haven't got access to a costco, but found the same one (I think) on e-bay (item no 250822174977). Anyone know if costco still do them and what the price is now (and how I can get one), or should I get this one off e-bay? Need a low entry jack as mine has barely 10 cm of clearance at the sides. Thoughts?
  22. Loving this one of mine (while it was still working properly )
  23. Surely when Joe Bloggs buys a new exhaust from Kwik Fit it won't be an oem exhaust, but it doesn't affect the insurance? Else anyone who buys discs or pads etc from Halfords would have to tell their insurance that they weren't using oem parts, and using a different oil to the one Nissan sticks in would class as a mod in that case? As long as the new exhaust doesn't give a performance gain or make it more nickable surely they can't complain? I would have thought any steel exhaust would be fine? I had a stainless steel exhaust on a car I wrote off ages ago that wasn't standard and Direct Line didn't bat an eyelid (just said they wouldn't add any value to the car because of it).
