  1. Don't think you can turn off the passenger one I'm afraid.
  2. I regularly get over 400 miles to a tank. My dte readings are way out - got a scangauge fitted that is far more accurate and shows the car's computer is about 25% out. Always about 150 miles left in the tank when the dte is reading 0. I've not run out yet, and only ever managed to put about 72 litres in. I wouldn't recommend running on fumes though as any crud in the bottom of the tank will get sucked through.
  3. Only comment I'd make is that the aftermarket stereo doesn't look too good a fit (looks like a large gap down the left hand edge)?
  4. My Dad's "classic" (read old) Volvo 244 GLT has got a cracked cylinder head. Coolant coming out just beneath one of the spark plug holes. He's currently trying to strip the head off the engine and was thinking of buying a S/H head to go back on. However, there will be no way of knowing if a scrapyard head has any problems with valve gear/cam etc and I wondered how feasible it is to repair his existing head. Can these things be welded up? Has anyone any experience of repairing a cylinder head and what kind of places would be able to do it. He's located in Buckinghamshire (near High Wycombe) if anyone has any suggestions. All other advice also gratefully received (He'd rather not scrap the car as he's had it from new and it's still in very good nick - plus he's tight as well ).
  5. Just proves how much Nissan dealers follow the service schedule A P2 should involve changing the air filter, oil filter, lights and levels as well. Even a P1 should check the lights and levels Brake fluid is an additional service item that should be done every two years, therefore at every P2 and P3, and will be charged as an additional cost. Plugs need doing at 5 years/54,000 miles (therefore technically at the third P1 service) A P1 is basically an oil/filter change and a basic check of everything else (incl steering gear/linkages, brakes, tyres, drive belts, fluids etc). A P2 should change the oil/filter and air filter and inspect everything else (all P1 stuff plus drive shafts, coolant strength, air con hoses, ignition leads etc) A P3 is exactly the same as a P2 - so why do they charge more -or more importantly why do we bother getting a P3 done when a P2 is exactly the same but cheaper? (The only extra item listed for a P3 over a P2 is the LSD gear oil replaced rather than inspected, and ours doesn't get replaced as it's the viscous coupling type) It's all in the service book on pages 18/19 More details here viewtopic.php?f=17&t=32280

  7. Ask them how much a P2 is and what extra they do for a P3 to justify the extra cost (bearing in mind a P2 and P3 are exactly the same service on a 350)?
  8. Friend's dish was an old Sky one, and the lnb I posted above connected fine and worked straight away with the Humax Freesat box - perfect picture. No idea what Beavis is on about
  9. Book is stamped three times in one of the piccies, so it'll be due another service almost immediately at that mileage (and it'll be the big P3 one as well) so allow for that on the price. Wheels have been sprayed (difficult to tell whether it's been done properly). Facelift car, not HR. I always thought that the Alezan came with a bit of orange on the steering wheel as well, but I may be wrong. No mats in the footwells, so I'd check the carpets for wear
  10. At those prices get it done properly with something that works, ie UpRev. There's no way a generic chip like that will work in the 350 as far as I know.
  11. I bought one of these and fitted it for a friend who had a single LNB like yours - piece of cake and worked fine with the Humax. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000 ... ss_product
  12. +1 You have to align the hole on the wheel with the locating stud on the hub. It should then fit.
  13. Ask them how much they'd charge for a P2 and then find out what extra you get done for the P3 service I'd be interested to know their response
