  1. its running the best its ever ran, breathing easier and with the new oil and filter change and NGK plugs its like new.
  2. richmillions: what was the outcome of your relearn process did it eventually work, i can assure you this process was done over and over and it wasnt having any of it. Listen Guys this wasnt B+Q paint slaped on and im talkin 1000's of an inch think here. What i also didnt mention was that the butterfly needed a bit of adjustment to...for those that are interested. listen guys theres no need for the comments. I didnt need to post on here i was just making people aware that theres an easy fix. there wont be problems later down the line and as far as the comment 'might as well as left the carbon there'! Yes! I know mate! But it was thick and that defo would of caused me probs down the line!
  3. problem solved!! No need to perform an ECU 'reflash' or expensive nissan repair bills. When the TB's were clearned it basically left a very tiny gap between the TB and the butterfly. As carbon deposits and other muck had built up slowly over time the buterflys learned to deal with it, so moving this 'muck' was (unknowingly to me at the time) a bad idea. It basically kept idiling between 1500 and 2000 constantly reving. After many ideas and some time with diagnostic machines.....a light coat of paint inside the TB sorted this out. simple, effective and......simple
  4. Thanks guys we have tried all the resests with no joy. Still looking into it!!
  5. ok mate thanks for the info
  6. Hi thanks for the reply ive just read it all! can I ask how long this process took? and a rough ££££
  7. Hi Hope you guys can advise me here: I’ve opted for the short story…. Had my spark plugs changed, took the 2 throttle bodies off and discovered they were backed in carbon deposits and all sorts of gunk so cleaned them. Since then the car has idled rough (revs jumping between 1500 and 2000) and running rough for example trying to hold at say 35 it gets a little jumpy. After investigating further and checking out the throttle bodies I now can see that the butterfly doesn’t fully shut and therefore doesn’t create a seal! So, has anyone ran in to this problem? 2 new TB’s from Nissan £1400 EACH!!! No thanks!!!
  8. Hi, NOT HAPPY! I took the Z to Nissan regarding some Corrosion on the roof, a few 5p and 1p humps and bump appearing now, he took some pics and sent it off to Nissan head office UK (who ever makes the final decision in the warranty dept) with a report. That was Monday, yesturday he phoned me back and said it isnt good news....so after a phone call today with Nissan i was not happy with the reason behind the decision.... 'it isnt covered under the warranty as its been caused by an outside source'................... ........yi weather! Anyway without boring you with the rest of the conversation that went round and round, they basically aint touching it! The decision was based on about 2 pics that were taken when it was raining and very dull.....but that isnt my issue, the issue is 1) why cant my dealer (who can see and touch it) make a decision?! and 2) who makes a decision like that looking at some amatuer pics!? Were do i stand?! should i just let this go and move on or what?!
  9. its corrosion, rust! defo, ill post some pics up soon
  10. thought it was longer than 6 years.....im out by a month then
  11. you recon its a manufacturer thing or will they just turn there back and say its an untreated stone chip
  12. ive had a few people tell me now that im still under warranty by nissan regarding the paint work. now i aint opening up a big debate on the quality of paint used.....i know it isnt the best. But i have a few rust spots on my roof right at the front (drivers side) and they could be stone chips but they look more like rust spots that have got worse over time. any opinions guys? its a 57 plate Z
  13. Hi Guys im after this part, but in fact i really only need the bush, nissan dont stock just the bush as a 'servicable item' but cheapest on ebay is £125. dont really want to be wasting all that for the sake of just one bush! can the bush even be replaced or is it the whole wishbone i need to replace?! My mechanic has discovered that its getting a bit worn and maybe the culprit of my unsteady breaking. i get quite a bit of vibration from braking down from anything above 60mph. so i want to get this sorted before anything else. any help appreciated, cheers
  14. Wow, what a kick in! I’ve just picked myself up off the floor lol . I appreciate the telling off and yes after all these comments im back on V-power. Not that I need to explain myself but just so you guys know WHY I’ve been so ‘dumb’…. Months ago I was at a garage filling up as norm (norm being 98 at the time) and I saw a Z, and another 1 filling up. So said hi as you do and got chatting very briefly about 95, don’t ask why it just came up, the 2 guys said they have always filled up with 95 with the occasional 98, think he said about once a month or every x amount of miles, they said they know a few people who do the same and haven’t ran into any trouble. So knowing about the knock sensor and all, and the recent chat and the fact that I do a lot of motorway driving sat around 70/80mph on cruise control around 2.5/3 RPM….I started to fill up more regularly with 95. Cost was never an issue. I have had no probs. Starts 1st time every time, doesn’t miss a beat and all is ok. But just to clarify im on V-Power 98
