  1. The game data is linked to the motherboard serial number somehow, so you can only restore to the same machine (new hard drive), not a new machine. Not bothered about any of my other stuff on there, just the GT5 saved game data. Guess I could buy a new hard disk and see if I can fiddle it somehow.
  2. Surely the warranty will cover it? Thats shocking that you cant transfer the data over I'm sure somewhere in the underworld of PS3 geeks they can save the data for you. It's about 6 years old so no warranty. Problem appears to be the hard drive (I'm hoping it's just corrupted rather than fubarred) so can't access any data on it at all. If I manage to back it up and stick a new hard drive in I can recover the data, but can't transfer my saved game data to a new PS3 (it's all copy protected for some reason). Problem is I can't access the hard drive without the damn machine hanging. It won't turn off properly either. It boots up, signs me on and then crashes when I try and do anything. Trawling through Google at the moment trying to find a solution........
  3. Managed to get to level 21, 1,500,000 in the bank, all licences done and most of the races and ... PS3 goes bang Can't do a back-up and can't transfer my saved data elsewhere. Have to buy a new PS3 and start again
  4. That's way too expensive for a P1. I would aim for £150 max. It's only an oil change after all.
  5. Was hoping to keep that quiet Colin Cheers for the best wishes everyone - just wish I could get out of the village to celebrate The car is certainly in much better nick than it's owner
  6. The Asus Eee PC 1015P claims a battery life of 11 hours. I assume Windows 7 starter is fine for most normal computing needs. I think I prefer a netbook to a tablet looking at all the options. (And, yes, I can just connect the headphone socket to an amp with no problem )
  7. Want to buy one for someone for Xmas but don't know much about them so after some advice. Basically it will be used for e-mailing and the internet via wi-fi and I want to connect it to a small hi-fi for playing music via "aux in" phono cables. That's about it. Don't need phone calls or a data contract. Want it to be small (though bigger than my iPhone) and thought a tablet would be nice, but am I better with a proper small notebook/laptop such as the Dell Mini 10 or similar. Anyone got a tablet or a small notebook? The only thing I'm really concerned about is getting an output for music via phono cables as I'm not sure you can do this with these wee things.
  8. ...my Zed Bought four years ago today and, dodgy power steering pump aside, its never let me down. 30,000 miles of sheer motoring enjoyment.
  9. Correct bleeding technique is listed below: 1. Stop the engine, and then turn the steering wheel fully to right and left several times. NOTE: While air bleeding the Hydraulic System, frequently check the reservoir tank, add additional fluid up to the MAX level, if necessary. 2. Run engine at idle speed, hold steering wheel at each “lock†position for about three seconds. 3. Repeat the 2nd procedure several times at about three seconds intervals. CAUTION: Do not hold steering wheel in the locked position more than 10 seconds. (It is the possibility that oil pump may be damaged.) 4. Check generation of air bubbles and cloud in the fluid. 5. If the air bubbles and the cloud don't fade, stop the engine, leave air bleeding behind until the air bubbles and the cloud fade. Perform the 2nd and the 3rd procedures again. 6. Stop the engine, check fluid level.
  10. Found it - AMG challenge in the Special Events section
  11. Karts are fun, but that Top Gear track with the camper vans is sooooooooooooooo slow I almost fell asleep. 2.24 on the Nurburgring GP circuit with the 350 It is just me, but I can't find the Nordschleife on the game?
  12. Just loading the tracks etc on mine as well - think work will have to wait till the New Year
  13. I'm more annoyed that a P3 is £60 more than a P2 when there is absolutely no difference between the two on a 350
  14. cheers for the compliments on the car guys! needs some more mapping then will be going on the rolers, should be 450-500 bhp. so what normally fails past the 400 mark then? what are the weakpoints? Cheers JM Pistons and rods tend to go above 400 bhp. If you do intend going FI and forging the engine be prepared to spend an additional 20K to get there
  15. Mine's cable-tied already and never caused a problem. All the fixings rust and then tear the plastic when you try and take them off, common problem.
  16. Pump went on mine - got a second hand one from R35Lee, fitted it and sorted the problem. I've posted on your guide thread.
  17. I've done this myself. Takes a couple of hours and is not that difficult, BUT I found you have to take the radiator cowl off and the top hose so you need to drain the coolant system down a bit (the long bolt on the front of the power steering pump won't come out otherwise which is a bit of a b*ll ache). There's only two or three bolts holding the pump itself on and is fairly obvious when you get down to it. This pdf may help PS-pump.pdf Unfortunately I won't be around for advice after today cos I'm off on holiday
  18. Just put Planet Rock on and be done with it
