  1. edit. crap just noticed, i am chatting on your forsale thread sorry will delete. i thought i was on a different thread GLWS your car looks fab!.
  2. Car is now sold, If it appears on the tradelinkcars website all I can say is I truly believe it is a good example and will be a decent buy for someone. I have not posted much on the forum due to time contraints but it has been a valuable source of info from a bunch of friendly folk - one of whom even checked out the car for me before the long trip to Selby to pick up back in 2010. edit...... oh and someone may be the lucky owner of a CDR copy of my ACDC back in black album as I forgot to take it out So long & thanks for all the fish Mike
  3. (most of this is preaching to the choir but i am selling at work as well! ) Blue Nissan 350z GT. Location, Haverhill, near Cambridge (or can have it on site at work which is just off the M11 near Duxford) I have been putting this off as long as possible however with a child on the way the time has come to get rid of my pride and joy and look at the boring stuff which I have never cared about such as iso fixings, boot space and legroom in the back!. This 2005 car dodges the 2006 tax hike which saves over £200 a year in tax and fuel economy I think is ok (considering it is a 280bhp 3.5l V6 engine with 0-60 in 5.5s), at a real world 28mpg - according to the on board computer. It is low milage with under 55K on the clock & for its age it is in superb condition (minor niggles listed at the bottom). It never fails to put a smile on my face when driving, and it his been bullet proof for me since I bought it in 2010. These are great cars with fantastic reliability. It is full GT Spec with rear parking sensors, and for a 2 seater sports car has a decent amount of bootspace (I tried arguing that a cot with baby in would fit in the boot just fine but the wife did not see it that way for some reason ) At each service and MOT (Full history supplied) I get the car checked out and it always gets a clean bill of health. (MOT till 21st April 2016) i will need to take my private plate off it (30th birthday present so I would like to keep it) but this wont take long. 5th gear review here £6750 http://s204.photobuc...orcn8d.jpg.html Additional info. I am being brutally honest here, but please do not let this put you off it sounds way worse that it is. front alloy wheels have both been kerbed once. (neither my fault ) rear windscreen washer has never worked since I got the car (I never use it anyway) the spring has gone on the ashtray. in cold weather the boot sometimes wont hold up. Sometimes it has minor clicky axel at low speeds - this is not all the time - indeed it only really happens in summer so had I not mentioned it the buyer would not have known, but I am trying to be 100% open. It has not gotten any worse over the last 3 years. (Mechanic says not to worry about it.)
  4. just to reply to my own thread. I think this may be to do with something a neighbour has or a new transmitter in the area. The car is 100% fine anywhere other than my drive. in my drive it is ok most of the time, but at some times of the day the range is greatly reduced. either way it is a relief!.
  5. Hi I came home from work today and my car would not lock. I locked manually got in and disabled alarm with the keyfob off. i replaced the battery - its a CR2032 battery not a CR16 but as i understand it they are both 3v its just got a bigger capacity. still no joy. HOWEVER i noticed it worked intermittantly, so not a programming issue. I got my other key and it is exactly the same. it turns out, if i am about 1 foot away from the passengerside dash when inside the carit works ok. outside the car, same deal, if i wave around right next to the window on the passenger side of the car it works.... evenutually. this is with both keyfobs. This happened right away. i have never had an issue with the car before, it has not slowly gotten worse, its just tonigth all of a sudden it is playing up. Typical really. i am selling her next month (child on the way no point having 2 seater) anyone any ideas? thanks
  6. Thanks so much for the replies. Its pretty much what I thought. @ Ekona... I see your point and I would like to think it is not something I would have forgotten, however its not my car and I get moaned at for "interferring!" Its only a cheap car, so I doubt it will put anyone off.... Had it of been my Zed for instance I would probably get it updated fully before selling.... but with only 20 days remaining on the tax, and insurance, I want to get shut of the punto asap Anyways, thanks again!. Mike
  7. Hi. A bit of an odd one. We just came to sell my wifes car, the insurance and tax run out at end of this month so want to do it asap..... and the V5 is in her maiden name. is this a problem, and assuming it isnt, should she sign her name using her married name or her maiden name (we were married 3 years ago) thanks for your thoughts M. PS this isnt the Zed.... tho sadly that is probably going too in a few months
  8. well thanks for the thoughts. i have purchased a magnetic stick. not arrived yet but borrowed one from someone at work. Sorted in 2 mins. phew handy items am glad i bought one anyhow
  9. Thanks chaps. I dont post much these days, but good to know everyone is still a friendly helpful bunch. i will post back when it is sorted
  10. i have ordered one, it is on the way. got it from here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390643841020?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 perhaps the flexible one above would have been better but i had already ordered this by the time i saw the bendy suggestion. finger crossed it will do the trick
  11. ok thanks, so it is magnetic then, the wheel nut.... thanks
  12. Hi. the lid for the astray in my car broke. I took it out to glue it. The well that this fits in has a small hole - about the size of a match box. The hole drops inside the big plastic surround which goes to the gears etc. The problem is that I took the car to the car wash, and put the locking wheelnut in my pocket for when they cleaned the car. on returning to the car, I put it back in the well where the ashtray went (I didnt know there was a hole then). I am sure you can guess the rest of the story. I CAN see the locking wheelnut, but am stuffed if i can get at it. My questions are 1) is there anything it can get tangled in to cause any damage 2) if so is it easy to take the centre console out (if you guys think i need to i will get on a google) 3) I am assuming a garage will still be able to get the wheels off, but for me, is there anywhere i can get a replacement key from cheap, or are they all unque. thanks Mike
  13. I have cleared this and hoping it was just a brain burp and does not come back. I have looked on the net and seen the following...probably need to replace O2 sensor Symptoms - Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) - Possible high fuel consumption - Possible excessive smoke from exhausi IF it does come back however........ Is this a "bad" fault which i need to get looked at asap or can it wait a while as have only just paid tax & insurance. also, is it likely to be a killer price when it goes in? Car is an 05 with 42K on the clock with no mods at all. cheers
  14. since having mine i have averaged just over 27mpg. as already mentioned however your 1st month or so probably wont be that good enjoy, its a great car
