  1. The main problem appears to be with the rears and can be contributed mainly to 2 issues. The first is that there is insufficient clearance between the bottom mount and the bottom arm which makes the base of the coilover hit the mounting point on the bottom arm. The second issue is in relation to the top mount which apparently has insufficent or no bushing and sets up a knocking. There have been other problems reported but these seem to be the most common. As you say, they may just be confined to Evos and Scoobys but if I was buying again I would more than likely consider another make.
  2. I had a set of BC inverted coilovers fitted to my Evo last year and although I personally haven't had any problems with them yet, it appears that plenty of people have. It's a long thread but worth a read if you are considering spending out on new suspension: http://www.lancerregister.com/showthread.php?t=268574
  3. I have to say that my rev up engine consumed much less oil with 40w in in than it did with 30.
  4. The PAS on the Zed is speed-sensitive so the amount of assistance reduces as you speed up and increases at parking /lower speeds.
  5. Never under estimate the power of pork Sorry had to get that in In all seriousness though, the Boxster is around 180 kgs lighter than the 370 and as has already been said, is mid engined as well.
  6. That looks a real beautyTim. I have fond memories of a 3 litre S I had many years ago.
  7. Nice one Liam. They're never too young to become petrol heads.
  8. My problem with Porkers is that they sound far too muted, how does yours sound? Mine's got the optional switchable exhaust (PSE) The video will give you an idea but it sounds a whole lot better in the real.
  9. Thanks Mate. I'm well impressed with it. Very, very capable and so responsive to throttle and steering inputs.
  10. Has it settled Ian? It started to but then it rained a bit so its all gone again I hope it stays away too. I've got to get into Ponty tomorrow.
  11. Must have been sold before I went down there as I didn't see it.
  12. Could be a very difficult job Andy since the zed only has door mirrors
  13. The people I've just bought my Cayman from have recently acquired this (2nd page of stock list). It looks a very clean example and I'm not on commission honestly http://dealerservices.autotrader.co.uk/ ... d-cars.htm
  14. Looks good. All the options except Rays and good long run on the tax and MOT. 276 bhp would be correct for this year.
  15. I had 4 18's off my Evo refurbished for £200 last year.
  16. I hate to admit to watching Corrie but yes I saw that too. What a sickening sound
  17. I think you may have answered your own question. If you got 50k miles from your last set you are clearly very light on the brakes as you have pointed out. Give them a couple of good, hard applications now and again say from 70 to 20 and they should be fine.
  18. I plan on coming to this as I do most years but won't have a Zed to put on the stand this year. It won't stop me popping along and saying Hi though
  19. That is very true Chris I'm pleased to say mine are a nice shade of pink
