  1. And this is the part thats all wrong. You connect a cap up to a battery and it will charge VERY quickly with a high current rate.
  2. There have been lots of discussions about these on audio forums, to a VERY technical level talking about the speed of electrons etc etc. The summary from the science is that if your alternator/battery is not up to powering the amp, its no more up to the job of charging the cap.
  3. As Streetview now covers most the country whos found thier own car? I managed to find mine outside my partners. Narrows down when they did it to a weekend last year sometime.
  4. There is no set code as it depends what company they use for supplying looms. Do you know who they use - Autoleads/ICT/Connects2?
  5. Yeah there is quite a lot of room back there. If you pull forward the centre console you should be able to move the cables around a bit and get them tucked up nicely so they don't rattle
  6. Take the head unit out again and leave it out for a few days and see if the problem still occurs.
  7. ikarus - Very nice bit of work there. Impressed with the CAD work and also the small enclosures. I wanted to build something similar for a 10" sub but there is just not the space really. I have 'virtually' sealed up the enclosure to the required space but still want to change it. Need something to take the deeper H2 sub Nice boot build as well. You got any pictures?
  8. very nice. Me like a lot. Wish I had a set on mine seeing those
  9. lol I was about to say I recognise that big dome in the background from across the water at Southampton.
  10. Bear in mind that that amp is going to be doing 2500into that sub not 5000W if the coils are wired in parallel. Still with 2500W to be pulled I would be fitting an upgraded alternator if not a split charger if you are looking to run this at all with the car off. Going to be a fun job getting that in a ported enclosure. A friend had two of them and the box was HUGE (and that was in a van!)
  11. Have to ask - Have **REMOVED** given you financial support?
  12. Wahay - my sub boxes move onto thier third owner
  13. Exactly - Personally I wouldn't as IMO the 370 is over priced and thus one thing that will happen is when you walk off the forecourt you will loose a good chunk of money. If its anything like early 350z (my 04 dropped 10K in 2 years!) then its just not worth it. Lets say its worth 27K after a year - you have just lost 11K once you count the interest you'll end up paying! While it might be nice to own a 'brand new' car I just can't see the justification, specially once you start talking about cars worth this much which will susiquently loose much more (brand new at 8K will loose soo much less than brand new at 33K)
  14. I ordered some rear Falken 452s on Wednesday night - Friday they were delivered. Always had good service from Camskill. Micheldever are HUGE, thier warehouse is just up the road and once picked up tyres up direct. Its bigger that most supermarkets! That said thier prices are generally MUCH more than camskill etc from what I have found (via both pro-tyre and micheldever)
  15. Cool - the comments I wanted to hear. Pretty sure I will keep the car but just wondered. It comes down to the how much will the car 'loose' in the next 2 years against a newer car. Probably not that much difference but the maintenance will be higher. That said probably less than the 6K difference (- the extra you will sell it for)
  16. Well after owning my Black 04 350z with GT Pack for over 3 1/2 years. Got it with 29K on the clock and its now sitting on the 56K. This is my daily driver. I still love the car, get a grin when driving it and just enjoy it. Looks soo nice when all cleaned up and polished (which funny enough i did today too) So as I have had the car coming on 4 years this summer and almost 30K its time to look at my options. Of which there are.. 1) Keep it - My concerns with this options are the increased cost of things going wrong like it will need clutch soon it no doubt and with it being 6 years old expect it to go wrong. Am I over worrying. Are there many high millage 350z's out there which are having trouble free driving? My other concern is that it still suddenly start to drop in value to pennies after a few more years 2) Upgrade. As much as I would like a 370 IMO they are overpriced so and it would be the likes of a 06/07 plate in black again or blue. Looks like a 35K 06 is around the 16K mark with 07s being around 17.5L+. Over mine I would it out as an outlay of around 5K/6.5K.. 3) Sell and go for someone else fun.. problem being that not really sure of what out there can give me the fun i have at the moment without spending a lot more money i.e likes of Cupra, Fabia VRS etc So what are peoples thoughts. Looking at it now I have typed it out keeping it doesn't seem to bad even with the extra costs.
  17. My comments are in relation to the products listed in the first link. If you get the looms linked in my post then yes its far from hard. As for removing it all. It should be fairly simple to be honest
  18. Unfortunately due to the parts you have gone your the main thing you will nee is LOTS of time. Your going to have lots of soldering to do and a very good wiring guide.
  19. Yup - you will only kick yourself if it all starts to fade.
  20. After speaking with ICT they have now confirmed they have been having a number of issues with the 29-007 Pioneer loom. They have now released a new one which has extra chips in it to make it work.
  21. RE the different Pioneer leeds I have sent a mail to ICT to find out what the score is as they list two compatible with pionner - both the 29-007 and 29-020.
  22. This is one of the annoyances of the recent ICT looms as they used to be complete with all the plugs. Unfortunately they can no longer get the plugs so its a DIY job (that said no worse than the other looms out there) I've updated my thread with the colours to connect up
