  1. +1 - any thieft with more than 2 brain cells knows its got an imobiliser, which means they wont be able to nick it without the keys. What you should be more worried about is being carjacked as they know they need the keys to get away. In that case you'd want something like the Blackjaxx or other anti carjacking device rather than a steering wheel lock (which have been proven a piece of pi$$ to remove if they really want to). I leave my car anywhere and everywhere and havent had any trouble in over 2 years. I try not to park in really dodgy places though.
  2. Happy Birthday sprinkle boy! PS Have you signed up for the Airfield day yet??
  3. Needs to just buy a new one! What about one of those netbooks? They are only a couple of hundred quid, should be quite good for on a boat being small, light and good battery life
  4. I have no doubt they can do them, the problem is because they havent seen every variety of UK ECU, they dont have the re-written firmware to flash to it. That means that rather than doing one trip to have a flash and map, you end up having to make 2, one for the dump, then they send it off to the States for the modification to the firmware, then when that comes back (about 2 weeks I think they were quoting) you can go back and have it flashed and mapped. Thats the rub for me, would have to make 2 six hour round trip journeys rather than one. I am contemplating popping in on the way back from Scotland hoon though to get mine dumped which should save one trip
  5. Would be interesting to see if Nismo use the stock ECU with a different map or if it is a completely different chip. If its the OEM with different map, then I guess RS Tuning may be able to dump it. I would have thought Nismo would have protected the chip suitably to stop people stealing the map. If we could get a dump of it, it would make RS Tunings mapping a lot quicker!
  6. Maybe the one you heard was broken? From what I remember the V-twin sounds gorgeous
  7. Should have said it was up for grabs Mart, I'd have had it, my baby lives on 99RON! Mark: It doesnt like playing with OBDII readers, mine wouldnt connect to it at all. It acknowledged that something was there but wouldnt connect, my guessing being that as its not a factory unit, it doesnt need to comply with OBDII protocols. I would guess it will only talk to Nissan proprietry software (Consult via CANBUS) Ian: Running into the limiter will not cause your engine to blow, but it might cause other problems. I think I remember reading that it cuts the fueling to control the rev limit which can be very dodgy if done a lot. Alex will confirm though. So no blown engine, but could damage it.
  8. Should be a good turn out guys, cant wait. Sarah, can you save me a seat by the TV please
  9. So is DMS in Erith and they are a trader on here!! And they have experience with the Zed! TGM have experience with a few Zeds now, but agree that DMS are probably closer to Maz Thought Mods were supposed to support traders on the forum that have paid their fees!!?!! Just pointing out the options. I voted he go to DMS anyway, as they are probably closer. TGM Sport do a lot to support members of this forums, just because they are not a paid up trader, doesnt mean they shouldnt get a mention. Competition is good for business so they say.

  11. Sure we can do it mate, seems quite easy from the my350z writeups. Best get on there and have a look though, as one writeup suggested spacing out the bar with some washers around the seat belt mount so it doesnt rub on the interior plastics
  12. +1 mine said every 10,000km, but hey, once a service will do!
  13. +1 - no oil fouling issues. The issues normally arise from over oiling. Make sure you dont put too much on (follow the instructions) and all will be well. I have reoilled my pop charger 3 times now (that I remember!) and havent had any issues so far.
  14. I'd read that figure with a lot of caution. Seeing what Adam@Z1 had to do to get his Zed over 300WHP (albeit on the earlier model engine), I find it quite dubious to get a figure over 300WHP so easily. Would love to be proved wrong though (i.e. if Adam says he knows the guy that did it and the dyno can be trusted!) I'm still holding out for RSTuning to get things going. Being able to tune the OEM ECU means no cost other than the flash and tune. IMO this is the only econimcal way to do it for the small gains you get. Also the system they use is very hightly regarded in the US.
  15. Was ok when I was just doing my own work, but now we have a bunch of new muppets in, they need watching every minute of the working day I need to start contracting, can make far more money and only have to look after myself!
  16. Wait for an Admin, they can change it, if you ask them nicely
  17. I will be along on the Sunday hopefully, but looks like we're busy on the Saturday so dont think I can get a day pass for then too
  18. Get the PIAAs they are excellent for the money.
  19. +1 - give them a shout, if Phil used them, chances are they are very good
  20. For a first attempt, wash, dry, polish and wax it. Polish removes the tiny scratches in the paints surface and then the wax protects the paint from futher infliction of scratches (to a certain extent). When you are happy with your wash technique, you can then look at doing things like claying it. Wash every week Wax every month Clay and polish twice a year
