  1. Yes the Zed is very good on fuel if you keep the revs steady. I found no real difference cruising at 70ish on motorways and 90ish on private roads. Its constant use of the right foot that drops the MPG, keep it a constant speed and it will be fine. All depends on the kinds of roads you use.
  2. +1 and shoot RAW if your camera supports it. Makes me laugh these days when people say shooting digital is difficult as you only get one chance, you should have tried shooting in film, then you really only got one chance! You had to wait until you developed the image before seeing what had worked or hadnt and it cost a fortune to test stuff out as developing was expensive even if you did it yourself (I did a City and Guilds in photography, so only had to pay for my paper). Practice, practice, practice, thats what its all about. Just like heel/toe, selecting ISO, aperature and shutter speed all become second nature, so you only need one shot at a erm shot! Try taking the same shots over and over, chaging the settings and see what they do, it doesnt take long to work it all out what shutter speeds or aperatures will give you the desired effects with a good book helping you along. Get used to second guessing what settings you need and shoot RAW and you will get a decent amount of photos that come out good enough to print as RAW can save a few mistakes if you were close to the mark.
  3. +1 Another thing to note is the The dodo stuff is considerably more expensive than R222 Not when you consider how much longer it lasts I used to go through a pot of P21S (R222 former name) in less than a year, waxing at least a couple of times a month. I have DD SN now, wax probably every 2-3 months, and half a pot has lasted me over a year Next time I will be trying a DD panel pot as it just lasts so damn long!

    100,000 miles

P1 is a normal service (oil change), FP1 is the equivelant to a P1 but for those that do more than 20 or 30k miles a year (I forget the exact figure). Basically they do more checks each time as you are doing bigger milage more quickly, so some stuff might wear out before the normal periods.
  5. I can get 400 miles on a UK tank (bigger than JDM) at cruising miles. When I did the jockland hoon which was similar milage, I think I filled up 5-6 times, at £75 a pop, which would be £450 for fuel at UK prices, so not as bad as you are imagining. That does depend on how much of it is cruising and how much of it is hooning
  6. I don't think replacing the 19" with 18" wheels, even as nice as they are, will be on many 40th Anniversary 370 owners lists Maybe as track wheels Think they'd have to be 19"s for the size of the 370z arches though.
  7. Sorry, should have said torque. And with 7HP was that on the same day? Same dyno, different days, 7HP is neither here nor there, so could have actually lost you a bit of top end too Cant wait to get a Zed that responds to mods
  8. The problem with the Zed is there is limited tuning avaiable with the ECU in stock tune. Adam@Z1 has covered it a few times that you have to be selective with your mods and what seemingly works for one Zed doesnt work for another. If you bolt on all mods (intake, spacer, decats, exhaust) I will guarentee you will loose power without a remap. Mods on their own will yeild some power (usually) but together we have seen all sorts of weird combos. Personally, I gained 10HP and a nice slug of torque throughout the rev range with my MD spacer, but some have seen losses. As for noise, on a stock intake, I dont think the noise difference is noticable, but with something like a pop charger, it will make it "roar" a bit more
  9. Any FI car is very easy to get gains from. Turn up the boost and sort the air flow (intake/exhaust) and thats all you need to do, especially with VAG cars as they are bomb proof. Give me an example of an NA car that easily get gains
  10. Yup, thats what Clarkson always gets f'off about. He drives up in a Fezza and someone will say, "oooh I have a Nova that can beat that", but at the end of the day, its still a Nova And at the end of the day, the Zed would take a hopped up GTI in the twisties if they both have stock suspension
  11. The Vortech will make 340WHP with the whole car stock & just a tune Assuming that Dave is running the 2.87 pulley (which I'm pretty sure he is) then 400WHP should be no problem. Lets not forget that this is a kit that run 458WHP on the previous owners car, I fully expect dave will hit 400WHP with ease Don't forget that its Torque that kills motors & not HP Yeah fair point. I thought it was the general consensus that ~400BHP was the safe limit for the stock engine, as in 400HP at the fly? Or is it 400WHP that is the safe limit? Isnt WHP the same as HP at the hub too, give or take a small amount (tyre slip etc)
  12. Remember guys this is WHP we're talking about. Fly HP is WHP x 1.15 (ish, can be 1.18). I think some of you expect his car to explode
  13. I'm sure the kit can handle way more than your internals. How big are ya balls?
  14. it says for the 370Z are the wheels transferable between models? Yep - but offsets may require spacers. Offsets are lower on the 370z, so these would stick out too far on a 350z potentially
  15. No because Thor has a hub dyno which measures WHP Unless you want a common "fudge" factor, but then we might as well list WHP and be done with it!
  16. Everyone update with WHP! 1) 385 bhp dcash5 2) 357 bhp Husky 3) 375 bhp sparky350z 4) 387 bhp gunmetalzgt 5) 344 bhp rich5259 6) 340 WHP Chris`I 7) 362 WHP 3fiddyz ??? 8) 380 bhp shieldsie 9) 400 bhp Nurrish 10) 350 bhp maz0
  17. I vote boom before it even gets to the dyno If he makes it far enough then 340WHP
  18. Having had the 370z out on track, it should not supprise you that much given it was against an 03 350z The jump to me from my Zed to a 370z in terms of performance and handling is quite significant, although I am on stock suspension and sways etc which you arent any more. A stock 370z is way better than a stock 350z. Stock 370z vs modified 350z, not such a big gap
  19. Go easy out there guys, the ICE warning is there for a reason. No matter now good the tyres, nothing short of studs will save you on sheet/black ice. Admittedly the RE040s are cack in the wet and cold, so ditching them will help but nothing is safe on ice, as a 3-series drive in front of me in Slough found out today. Was crawling along as it was icy, he thought he was clever and cut everyone up to hit the patch of ice everyone was avoiding by going slow. Barrier 1 - 0 Beemer driver Luckily he didnt take anyone with him.

    ESP??

If all 4 wheels are slipping, ESP cant sense that. Wheels have to be turning at differnt rates, if you slip on ice/snow, it cant always detect it as all wheels are slipping. Suggest you have a bash at what Mark suggests, go get the back end out in a car park, it should kick in pretty instantly
  21. ZMANALEX and R35LEE are the men to speak to, they'll sort you out
  22. TG mag list the 370z as a 350z in their car section. Has the correct grades and stats (well for MY2009) as a 370z, but have a pic of the 350z and call it a 350z. Been like that for months, guess I should tell them
