  1. Wont be the normal tyre feathering issue, that was down to the RE040 tread rather than the car. More than likely the tracking/geometry is out, so you are doing the right thing getting it looked at. Nowt wrong with the Falkens, not the best tyre in the world, but great for what they cost. Tyrewall is a bit squishy, but adding a PSI or 2 can help that. Not particularly good in the wet either, but by no means are the RE040s
  2. There are many stories out there. First everyone thought they would be functional but then they appeared to be blanked off, but on closer inspection, theres actually a blanking plate behind each fang, which means you can attach cold air feeds, either for the brakes or the air intakes. No one knows if Nissan meant them to be for the brakes or the intake, but my guess is for the brakes when it come to race car setups
  3. That would mean I could use two foamlances at one and get the job done even quicker!!!! Could do wax on wax off in one pass, rofl Thats the plan, my car is filthy so I better get on making the clone
  4. The wrap does look very good having seen it not long ago. I think Colin might start duffing me up for copying him soon.
  5. Especially if the quick stops on the motorway were to a stop. That could have got them hot enough to deposit uneven pad material on the disc I get the same thing, lots of motorway driving means pads and discs last a long time, but can make it more prone that if you do one hard stop, it deposits pad material.
  6. I think they are the ones on their site Supprised no-one has done a good writeup of them on the370z.com. Maybe that means that its a given thats its good quality?
  7. Crawley Down Nissan have a Universal Silver roadster as a demo Chris Very nice. So much for all the demos being red! Could it be Nissan cant make their mind up again?
  8. So, should I put a stock airbox on for the run? depends on what you want. jwt = more noise, a small performance drop stock airbox with performance filter element = a couple more bhp but less induction noise. Yeah I was just messing, the drop in HP is tiny. I think on Andys car it was like 2HP or something top end. TBH I'm not conviced that on the road it makes any difference at all as I have seen very similar IATs with the popcharger and stock airbox. On the dyno though, the popcharger definately gets heatsoaked a bit. Sure Mark will keep an eye on IATs
  9. +1 - usually pad deposit. Do the break in procedure again and twice if needed and it should sort it. If its really bad (you can see a pad imprint on the disc) then it might need further break in procedures done. Let it fully cool between each run though, dont want to cook it.
  10. I've been looking into Evo-R stuff, but never had any of their carbon before. Whats the quality like? I havent seen any proper upclose HiRes pics of their stuff for the 370z yet, but from a distance it does look good. Shame you have to drill the rear bumper to fit the diffuser, sure they could have done something to fix it around the foglight.
  11. If its brand new out the box, it should be pre oiled Jerry (maybe worth checking with your supplier). Dont be supprised when Mark tells you to make better gains you have to use the OEM airbox
  12. Mostly German cars Read DetailingWorld forums and see which ones they bitch about being hard to detail because of rock solid paint. VAG cars, proper super cars have hard thick paint quite often. Jap cars are mostly crappy for paint, but you just learn to live with it. Problem these days is they can apply the paint so thin and its water based, just doesnt make for durable finishes. Ironically, in all this "save the planet" BS and using less paint and water based, you actually do more damange as people like Chips Away have to fix it with oil based paints, and as its applied by hand, use more
  13. Its a heat thing for sure. On the Evo forums (MLR) you're not a man until you have managed to fade the text :lol I'd speak to ZMANALEX and see what he says, for sure he will know what is going on and what can be done to fix it. What PF discs are you running? Are they 2 piece? 2 piece should keep the temps down
  14. Well I got my hands on this yesterday, unfortunately no pics of it, I forgot the camera in the excitement I would say its infinately better than the old satnav and well worth the upgrade if you can get it (ie if you are deciding between a MY2009 and MY2010) if you want satnav. The screen is much clearer, it does postcodes, it has TMC with optional redirection (you chose the route from multiple options), it hooks up to ipod, has component in (for video, or Camp2 ). Shows you info about the car (inside temp, and others). You can look at weather and current traffic info. Loads more, I forget now, but a definate worthwhile investment New roadster also looks very nice. They had a red one at WLMG, which as it turns out is the same colour that all dealers are getting the roadster in for demos apparently. Looks pretty good, if we had better weather around here I might have plumped for one.
  15. If it doesn't drop then when you shut the door the glass can hit against the frame and smash Never known it to actually smash, have their been any cases of it happening? I've had mine clip it once before, that was enough
  16. Quite cool Stew, similar to how I did my avatar pic and entry to the calendar last year, but I did it in photoshop. You just blur the background a bit and it makes the objects appear much smaller
  17. He speaks the truth You get used to it with Nissans crappy paint
  18. Not have the desired effect in what sense? If you are not driving the current car to the max, then why have a remap in the first place? If you want to get quicker in the car, you are far better off doing driver training, it will make you much quicker than a bit of extra HP and a slug of torque. Saying that, the remap offers more than just more power/torque. It offers true WOT, and better pedal response. So yes, while the car may decide to "detune" itself a bit if you just bimble about in the short term, the potential is there and you will notice the difference, even when daily driving and on the track it will adapt by the time you warm the car up properly
  19. You seem to have the same problem as me! Book it through Nissan.co.uk and they will sort it out quick smart! Also ask them about a GTR test drive I think the 370z is a bit of a grower compared to the 350z. You need to see it in real life for a decent amount of time to start to like the styling, pictures just dont do it justice. It really does start to make the 350z look a bit dated when you get up close to it properly and drive it, well especially the earlier 350z, I guess the 07+ its not so different and I wouldnt be able to justify jumping from a newer 350z to a 370z. It is through Nissan.co.uk I had a call from someone at Nissan UK saying that the dealer in Bath is the only one with a demo car & would phone me to arrange an appointement, that was 5 months ago Then about a month ago someone from Nissan UK phoned me to see how the test drive went. I told them I still had not been because the dealer couldn't be arsed to phone me & that I'd bought a porsche instead Doesnt sound good. I must have got lucky, they asked me what dealer I wanted it at and they would make sure a car was there, and phone me every week until I managed to get it. Only thing that let them down was the weather so it took ages to get a good day to do it. West Way Basingstoke on the other hand we crap! They didnt have the car the first time I went, and when I finally got out, it was on a pre-determined route, which did absolutely nothing to show off the car. I've been over to WLMG in Slough today, and I am one happy chappy
  20. 2BM method? How you gonna get two of me? I'm one of a kind, lol We're going to clone you
  21. Just couldnt work out how Nissan is paying for his remap
  22. Why are Nissan paying for your car to be remapped Do you mean the difference in cost from Abbey to Nissan means you can afford the remap? You do realise any warrenty on your engine will pretty much be null and void should anything go wrong with the engine and Nissan find out its remapped? Whether they can prove it was down to the map or not, you'd have a real fight on your hands to get warrenty work done Saying that, I would go to Abbey and have the remap and risk it
