  1. If you send it insured, it shouldnt be a problem, mine came wrapped up in about 1ft deep bubblewrap Obviously it will cost John to insure it, and if they break it, he gets a new one
  2. Get the car back to the garage. Did the brakes feel ok on the way back from the garage originally? If you had an airlock or air in the system from the start, the brakes would never have felt solid. It took 2 attempts at my brakes to get all the air out, we thought we were there once and stil it felt not quite rock solid, did them again and a bit more popped out from the last calliper The Zed is a bit of a sod to bleed if you've not done it before, very odd order to it.
  3. That echos what a lot of the chaps in the States have said, you feel it quite a way off. They think that what possibly happened was simple lack of talent from the driver, or the driver went into the big braking (100+MPH down to 40MPH) with already cooked brakes and hence it just didnt stop. Either way I suspect it was driver error
  4. Thats a good point. Tesco 99RON nets me around 4MPG more than 95RON
  5. I echo this, make sure you get the polarity right and dont short it. It is a permenent live on one feed and selective earth on the other. Dont be fooled into thinking it is selective live. I beleive if you test it using LEDs you should be safe as they only work when in correct polarity, but dont quote me on that. My dome light went and took out the BCM, fortunately the warrenty took the hit, to the tune of £500+ for the BCM and £150 for the dome light
  6. Good old postcode lottery, just glad mines a good one
  7. Give ZMANALEX a PM, I'm sure he must have played with plenty of LSDs in his 350z monster
  8. Looks like you will be mapping it yourself now then matey
  9. seem to recall you couldn't swap these ECUs - but not too sure Pretty sure the ECU is tied to the BCM, so although you may be able to swap them, you then cant lock the car or arm the alarm etc, and something about NATS rings a bell, but I forget what that does - imobiliser maybe. The car may run though. TBH, I would take the hit of trailering it over to RSTuning and get them to do everything! Dont want the car to go boom!
  10. Thats modern society for you. Everything has to be nice to people who crash and who as hit by the car. If it didnt need to be so solid, they could have cut down all the crash strengthening alot. This would save loads of weight. That or make more of it out of lighter materials, but that would then push it up into Porsche/BMW money. Everthing is done at a price point
  11. You need a 370z my friend. Looks to be easily modded to over 350HP with an intake and exhuast Or get the Nismo and its already 350HP Hi Chris. Did I say I love what you're wearing today. Can you spare 15k. Cheque is fine... Well you said they should make something hotter to take them on. They dont make a 350z any more, so the 370z should suit you to the ground. Unfortunately I dont have a spare £15k, maybe try Sarnie?

  13. Look forward with baited breath to seeing what happens
  14. Yeah paul that is the kit that i own and is now on my car....he is not forged though cheers for the input Thats what I thought, on stock internals looking for around 400hp. 458WHP is surely madness on stock internals What impact does the pully you have on it mean too Nurrish? Isnt it that pulley that means it will have higher boost?
  15. I suspect the car made 450HP (fly) in the States The kit will manage that easily from what I've read Im not saying i want that much but i would love to see you post that over here http://my350z.com/forum/forced-induction/441198-fis-top-25-list.html Didnt the guy you bought it from sign up over here? Why not ask him direct

  17. Wouldnt worry about that. With dry tyres once strapped down to the dyno, I wouldnt expect much difference in the grip levels, if anything, blady ones may grip it better
  18. +1 its now February, the summer will be here soon...... I'm voting for Xmas 2010 at this rate
  19. Cheers Chris No I never properly fitted it tbh.... I was not sure if it was what I wanted despite a lot of positive reactions. Plus a new opportunity has arisen now That would explain to a potential buyer then why you have the gaps, if fitted with the self tappers, it closes the gap down for a flush fit. The fit and finish of Varis is very very good, and IMO someone should rip your arm off for one at this price

    Few night pics

HDR is High Dynamic Range processing... Basically you take 3 shots at the same time, 1 under exposed, i correct exposure and 1 over exposed. Couple of stops between each. The you combine them in Photoshop and then run them through a post processor like photomatrix and adjust to suit.. Some more here... http://www.blogwatts.com/inspiration/9- ... ar-photos/ Some people like the effect, others dont! Pretty much. The theory behind it is that the human eye can see a much higher dynamic range (range between light and dark) than a sensor in a camera for any given scene. So when you take a pic with say a really bright background, and a darker foreground, the eye can see the details in the light parts and the dark parts, but the camera cant so you either "wash out" the light parts (ie they become 100% white losing details), or it makes the whole thing darker and you lose details in the shadows. HDR tries to correct this by taking a number of images with different upper and lower brightnesses (exposures), which tends to be one too bright, one normal and one too dark. HDR software then allows you to combine them with the details from the relevant images into an image which has a higher dynamic range than the camera can see. If done right, it looks like how the eye would have seen it on the day, but it also allows you to play around with higher DR than the eye can see and give some really funky effects
  21. I agree, the mag should aim to get the car back then kick off. Then you can kick off too with the understanding any fight is with the mag and not with the garage
  22. Did you put the self tappers in? Theres 4 on the bottom edge of the lip which will pull those gaps in you mention. The gap I have on mine is because mines been on so long, they've backed off a little. So new, there should be no gaps This is a cracking lip, the fit is far and above better than most out there, GLWS
  23. Whats the matter with that? As long as they strap it up right, its fine. The main thing for you is not to get headline power, but get a good map that wont kill the engine As far as I'm aware, they do a hell of a lot of Renault tuning involving pretty much the same ECU and most of them will be FI, so dont see anything to worry about
  24. +1 coming back from leeds on sunday with cruise control and 70mph i did 19.5 mpg.... Your car is broken Mine will easily hit 30+MPG at that kind of speed and distance keeping the pace steady
  25. I'd use them as track wheels if they looked right in 18"s on the 370z. Having them on the 350z they are cracking wheels for the price and have held up to all the abuse I have given them
