  1. I can see how you may have come to that conclusion but it couldnt be further from the truth. Dave was coming back for a long time, it just co-incided that he came back as the two in question were playing up. They had also been on the radar for a long time and received warnings for their attitude and bahavoir before as are a few other members. All we are guilty of is letting Dave press the button and also maybe not enacting it in the best way. We have given warning and bans in the past and this did not lead to those receiving them changing their ways so the team felt that this change in tact might have the desired effect. Perhaps now people may think before they dig/rant/fish/etc as we will be taking a sterner line with this kind of behavoir as it has become apparent it is out of control. You can be sure that any warning or ban is issued from the team as a whole where a majority of a vote wins.
  2. What people fail to realise is that there are a hell of a lot more people on this forum than the 5-10 that constantly post on everything. Some of these people take offence and on here the majority rule, the team just enact the changes. Dont for one second think this is anything personal between Dave, the team and the two offenders, it has been a long time coming and fully warranted. At the end of the day the team run the forum as they have done for many years. Something seems to work as we continue to grow. So I'm afraid to say you either like it or lump it. On many forums I know you dont even get to question the moderation team, once something has been done they wont even comment on it.
  3. The team dont need to unlock a thread to post - its a bug of the system, we dont always notice that a thread is locked as it still lets us post. Not saying that makes it ok, but its an easy mistake to make
  4. Glad to see this is sorted - 99% of the time its browser cookies not behaving.
  5. Apparently one she is Plenty Might have to wring it out a few times mind
  6. Been doing a spot of offroading there?
  7. Read on Craigsplates that the material, reflectiveness, spacing etc are all fully legal, just its not allowed as you used to be able to buy kits to make your own. They just wont rubber stamp vinyl plates even though they meet all the required standards
  8. Good to know So I guess normally the flecks manage to settle on the bottom of the tank, otherwise if they are always suspended in the fuel theres no way you can keep them from the filter (by avoiding low fuel) other than getting your fuel from a good source.
  9. Thats shocking in todays age! After all if crap is building up at the bottom of the tank, that means there is always a finite amount in there, whats stopping it from going through the filter anyway when the fuel is sloshed about as you drive? Does it sit at the bottom as sludge? You would expect eventually the buildup would get so bad that it will get sucked through anyway unless is gets disolved over time or something?
  10. +1 - not a lot you're going to be able to do with that is there!
  11. Not a million miles away from a car engine at all really. From what I understand they are broken in at the factory. The only reason they tell you to take it easy really is so that brakes and tyres can get into working life and burn off any release agents and bed in before you give it some beans. To think that modern engines from a factory require break in is pretty mad. Rebuilt by hand (say FI etc), yes, build by factory no.
  12. Good going Swinley is a bit flat to contend with that
  13. Yeah same reason I have the 800 for, so I know my phone battery will always be ok if I need to actually make a call! I'll chuck the 205 in my bag when we come up
  14. Plot it on http://www.bikehike.co.uk Supprised you dont have an app on one of your spangly phones to record this stuff. Do you want my old Garmin Edge 205? Its sat here doing nothing, you can have it in Oct when we come up. Just turn it on and stick it in ya bag. Cant say how long the battery will last as its a few years old now, but good enough to log rides. My 800 is slowly gathering new toys. As well as HR strap, I now have the cadence sensor for the road bike now. Doesnt half help on the road keep your cadence up and in the right region. I feel less knackered when I've got to work having spung faster and used less leg power to get there
  15. Fully agree chaps, thats why I quote hub figures in my sig and garage This is why we need dyno shootouts so we can all dyno together
  16. This is true, but while OEMs quote flywheel figures people will strive to "guess" what theirs is compared to the OEM figure. This is why DynoDynamics seem to always give you figures quoted at the fly - and more savvy members request at the wheel. I didnt have mine dyno'd before I started fitting mods so we had no way of knowing what it was compared to stock. Mark had a stock car in which dyno'd at 275@hubs (293 with drop-in filters, exhuast and UpRev), mine dyno'd at 303 with exhaust and intakes, it gained a further 5HP with UpRev (quite a bit more low down grunt though). So make of all that what you will
  17. Normally drivetrain losses are quoted at 15-17% which gives somewhere between 355-360HP. Always nice to over egg it given its an auto If you say its ~30HP loss then that only gives me 338HP which means I've gained 8HP over stock which isnt right. Say 40HP for an auto, gives 348HP, which is probably more likely. Need to get it on a DynoDynamics and see what that decides it is.
  18. Because its what OEMs quote and its the number people want to know. I.e. I have a 370z - it comes from the factory with a quoted power of ~330HP. I got it dyno'd after fitting exhaust, intakes and having UpRev. I get 308HP@hubs. How do I compare that to the OEM figure? You cant - you can only use flywheel. In my case its ~360HP which is a nice 30HP bump
  19. We went to Swinley for our weekly outing (not so weekly atm!)
  20. My arms scales say A LOT! Seriously must be about 45lbs each at least. The Recaro's I replaced them with were 30lbs and they were somewhere between 1/2 and 3/4 the weight of the Nissan seats I'd guess.
