Dude, cars are made of metal, not paper. If you love your car so much then why deny yourself even a moments usage?? All the graft that goes in to buying it and then you would rather walk to the shops for fear of a shopping trolley is 100% ridiculous.

100% agree. I love my cars as much as the next person but once you start shunning entire parks because your cars too precious, its borderline ridiculous. My cars have been everywhere with me; I think it endears you to other people when they see you not being snotty over your car, no one likes the ****er in the corner of the car car taking up two spaces in case anyone parks near him............

I've been thinking about this more recently and I think, for me at least, it's more of an OCD than anything else. At the weekend I spent £200 at a bodyshop for them to take my front and rear bumpers off and put them back on as to my eyes they weren't lining up correctly. I spent ten minutes walking around the car with my Mrs showing her what my issue was and it was completely invisible to her, she thought I was going crazy!!!

No amount of future mods are going to change what is a horrific kit in any guise........it's only in this case that the eye watering two tone jobby actually enhances how offensive to the eye this kit is.....

I guess what I was more referring to was not just spending on stuff that we all like, such as exotic bees wax from Brazil and shiny Volks from Japan but the mundane stuff like getting the car serviced and taxed. I'm not happy with how my bumpers line up and it's going in to a body shop tomorrow where no doubt the guy will look at me like I'm crazy to be bothered by it, but once it's done I'll be happy with it even if I get hit with chunky bill! Maybe I just have bad OCD!?!??

Or is it just me? I was having a conversation with the Wife last night and I told her that in the last two weeks I'd spent the following on my M3; £360 - 2x Michelin PSS' £280 - Road Tax £1,298 - Inspec II, Rear discs, rear and front pads, new drivers side brake caliper, subframe inspection etc etc So not far off £2k. My wife asked if I was gutted given that I only drive the car to football on a Sunday and until last weekend had not driven it since the start of December and I said that I actually enjoy spending the money on replacing and enhancing my cars, beyond just spending on sparkly stuff like wheels and exhausts etc. Am I/we crazy!??!
