    Wiper Controls

Works OK on mine. The only thing I have to remember is that the lights are on the right and the wipers on the left (its a JDM) - our other car is the other way round.
  2. We're still wondering why you've now got a chilli avatar? Edit - just noticed you've answered that question on another thread. I agree with you about the picture - it does look good in red.
  3. Chris, I bought a set of stickers from the US to cover the ugly airbag warning signs on the back of the sunvisors. They looked ok but they have started to peel off. Do you guys do anything that would cover these better and stay on?
  4. No garage and s**t weather have put a stop to me taking the dash apart this weekend. Will let u know when I`ve done it though. Photos would be good to, for anyone with a tiptronic +1
  5. By the way, we haven't forgotten - where's Val?
  6. Good for you - resist the pressure. I struggled to think up a suitably apt username, so I thought I might change mine to Just Jim, but eventually I couldn't be bothered.
  7. 1) Funky Chris 2) Gus 3) Derek +1 4) Jim What time are we meeting?
  8. I caught a bit of a TV programme the other night which was looking at the abysmal state of Britain's roads and the responsibility of the utility companies for much of the damage done. I think all of us who drive sports cars with firm suspension know exactly what problems this can cause. Two points occured to me afterwards - 1. Why is it the case that these companies have an absolute right to dig up the roads, often without very much notice? 2. Why is it necessary to put pipes, cables etc. under the roads? Surely the likelihood of damage would be much less if they were under the pavements instead? Can anybody enlighten us?
  9. Took the words right out of my keyboard! What's the story Val?
  10. Quite a few of us will be interested to know how you get on with the removal. I've not yet dared to try to take off the gaiter around the tiptronic shift.
  11. Thats allowed Even though we've seen them lots of times before?
  12. Jim found this the other day and thought of you auto oil info Thanks, Tim. That answers that question then. I don't suppose a Nissan dealer will be of much use since they will only be used to dealing with the manual 'box. Think I'll try the importer to see if they can help. I'm really just looking for reassurance that the box will be ok for a few more thousand miles before I have to do anything to it.
  13. I had an expensive problem with the tiptronic gearbox on my previous car, a Honda Prelude 2.2 vti. I found it difficult to check the gearbox oil levels and low levels eventually led to irreparable damage. I have a JDM Z with tiptronic 'box. Where and how do I check the levels, and what oil should I use to top up if necessary? Sorry if this is not exactly on thread.
  14. Thanks Derek. It's always better to get a recommendation.
  15. Which bodyshop do you use? I need to get a couple of scratches on the front bumper sprayed.
  16. I got a set of these from Chris a while ago, and I think they look really good. They also stick very well.
  17. No, just sensible. Look what happened to Steve Erwin!
  18. My understanding of the technology is that the systems used in ABS form the electronic basis for the TCS. In other words, you can't have TCS without ABS.
  19. The Sunday would make more sense, for all the reasons given earlier. South Queensferry would be good, but might well be very busy on a Sunday, even in winter. How about somewhere like the esplanade at Stirling Castle? More central, and usually plenty of space.

    Specs etc

JDM models push out around 290 bhp, I believe.
  21. I would be up for it if I am around - might depend on work commitments.
  22. That all reads as if it has been translated literally from Japanese. It doesn't really help us with the questions posed earlier in the thread.
  23. Car Park 2, level 3 at Glasgow Airport, around 1230 today. Reg **** SEZ? or something like that. You had left your Road Angel on the windscreen in full view.

    Spare Button

No they dont well mine doesnt , never seen it on the options list on the JDM brochure I have either?? Mine does, and it works. I can see the elements around the foot of the windscreen. I haven't got round to trying sat-nav yet, but the exsiting head unit has Jap sat-nav, and there is one of those GPS extra aerial things on the dashboard for it. I've tried unsuccessfully to get a UK CD for it. If I stick an after-market one in, I will hook it up to the aerial and see what happens.

    Spare Button

My JDM coupe has the TCS switch in the middle and a switch for the heated windscreen to the right. The spare space to the left was used for the immobiliser contact switch by the importer.
