Many congratulations Mr & Mrs H5 -looking forward to some pics I seem to remember this place went very quiet when you tied the knot, but I see Mrs Sarnie unties you from tiime to time now so you can pop in here and say hello
-
Moved your post into the off-topic section - but hey, no problems with posting and hope someone on here might be able to help you. Good luck

It is a GT and a UK car. That does seem a bargain - 1 owner and it has the optional alezan leather (not cloth as stated) but not sure if it is Gunmetal (grey) or Blade (which is silver). It also has the Rays wheels which were optional at the time. Certainly worth a look I'd say - just make sure you get the history checked and no recorded accident damage and if your not mechanically minded have a report done - 72k miles is no big deal if properly serviced so check the extenst of the service history - better to be safe than sorry. Good luck

WHERE DID THE SUCCESS OF MARRIAGE JOKE THREAD GO?
Ebized replied to Vik54's topic in Off Topic Discussion
We all joined this forum in the first place for one main reason - an interest in ZEDs But having a bit of a banter, sharing jokes and other 'off-topic' discussion has also helped to give a real sense of community with new friendships, as witnessed by anyone who has attended meets. Of late, we have seen the off-topic discussion taking most of our time not helped by a very small minority who clearly regard this forum as a challenge to one they prefer and post in a way that is perceived to either to stir things up and/or to undermine the basis of what has attracted the 4500+ members here in the first place and the traders who are our life blood as it is their contributions that keep this place going, not your free membership. Perhaps its the winter and we all feel a bit frustrated ZED activity is limited but reading an ever increasing proportion of off-topic posts, that have a limited but hard-core audience, to see if the "line" has been crossed does get a bit tedious - one of the downsides of moderating that its not so easy to 'switch channels'. Its also noticable that some of our previously more prolific posters are posting 's. The team discussion is getting more dominated about concerns about the way some of the off-topic and undermining threads are going, with an increasing number of pm's from members expresssing concern about thread contents, reflecting the perception of a trend that is not what the majority on here are interested in reading. As Stew says, we are never going to please everyone all the time and we will make mistakes in the editing room. As a 'newbie' moderator I am still cutting my teeth but for those who have being moderating for years, and are some of the most highly experienced amd knowlegible ZED enthusiasts on here, their patience is understandably wearing thin and I think it is important to highlight that if we lose them we won't have this forum as it certainly won't run by itself. If you see a thread or post deleted it will not have been done lightly and normally done by way of team consultation and a message sent to the poster concerned, unless it's a clear breach of the rules, spam etc. We want this place to be enjoyed by all and primarily to share views about the reason we joined in the first place. The best moderation is self-moderation so for those who feel the need to push the boundaries don't be surprised if you are cut off in your prime -
GT4 Zed is well placed to answer that - you hear of some who find no issues with the handling etc and others who get the TCS kicking in which has always puzzled me as I thought it only picked up rear wheel slip. Personally, given the differing ways tyres are made - as GT4 Zed has said, I would never mix tyres for road use although there were known advantages of doing that in various forms of motor sport. Takes me back to autotest days when 'mud and plug' tyres would be used on the front wheels on Minis but for the rears it was a case of using anything near bald
-
I might have misread Bennetts comparison with the full set Husky had bought but even so a pair of nearly new MS2 rears at £300 is a great price. The 370's at Silverstone were using Michelins and I was hugely impressed by the grip levels and feel. But I have not tried them personally on a 350, but having followed tyre threads on here over the years I have to say that those with experience I respect have never had a bad word about the Michelins - apart from the price. Even that's sorted now
-
James: At those prices go for the Michelins all round and keep the falkens as spares, or sell Whilst I have found the Falkens are great in the wet their side walls are really too soft in the dry when you want to 'play', such that they more suddenly let go rather than being as progressive as the RE50's and Michelins - and wear more quickly. I know Mike (xstrict9) preferred the RE50's over the Falkens (which he realy dislikes), but from the informed opinion on here I would go for the Michelins and at £300 or so for a set - bargain

Colin needs to get in the line
-
Tester had probably just watched Top Gear and the Lancia 'issues' and came into work ready to fail the next Italian car he had to check
-
You obviously have not had an old Beetle then - heater - bah - it blew ice onto the windscreen more than any hot air
-
Oh Stan - nnooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo But needs must, but sorry I just do not like great stomping yank like tanks. We will see how it keeps up on the triangle, although I guess this next time it will not be the cakes your are worried about throwing around given the purpose it has been bought for

Sounds like similar heel damage that darrenB had when he got bounced off his 256bhp jetski and it landed on his heel You should compare notes
-
Astons, Jaguars built like sh1te - this is going back to the bad old BMC days and their like when build quality let the Japanese and other 'foreign' car manufacturers take over most of the market - no wonder British industry is on its knees if quality control has gone out the window again. Reminds me why I buy Japanesse cars - they may not be perfect but at least I am not back at the dealers every 5 minutes German build quality may be good - but at a price, although recent tales of woe about VW has meant their customer satisfaction rating has slipped badly.......
-
Quote "But he seems to think there is definitely something wrong" Get that in writing from the dealer - armed with that information I would hope Nissan would not get difficult about paying the £200 labour charge, irrespective of the outcome.
-
Have you seen this thread and the outcome - just a thought......... viewtopic.php?f=9&t=29101
-
Must be off for a fresh supply by now
-
Yes, I was thinking that, but before ou put your hand in your pocket I would push the dealer more. It just occured to me that one of the local Taffys might know of a good dealer - see this thread and possibly pm those who might be near to you; viewtopic.php?f=90&t=22080&p=436779#p436779 Good luck
-
If the dealer acknowledges there is a problem that can only be resolved by taking the box out and checking the internals and given your car is under warranty then that work should be down to Nissan, or the dealer if it turns out their diagnosis is wrong. This seems a case that the dealer is either not assertive enough with Nissan about the issue or they are not sure if their diagnosis is right and are covering their backs. I would get a statement in writing from the dealer about what he considers is necessary. If he backs away from that then take the car to another dealer that has the expertise. Not sure who are your local dealers but a check on the thread that lists good and bad dealers (I'll try to locate it after posting) might be your better option. EDIT: dealers - good and bad viewtopic.php?f=64&t=6668&hilit=dealers&start=75 BTW - have moved the thread.
-
Anyone with a ZED of that colour - please see this post: viewtopic.php?f=54&t=30026&p=439748#p439748 Can you help? This thread for info and locked
-
So although you are no longer the car's owner, it wil be a good buy for someone else - just a pity they have not been around so you could have both done better out of a deal. But thanks for the feedback and I have seen a few move on from ZEDs to R26's so you will be in good company - I presume you fit better in that Have amended the title of the thread to reflect the sale. Good luck, and don't be a stranger
