  1. White vinegar smeared over single window at a time by a cloth then cleaned off using newspaper. Cheap and and effective inside and out and generally lasts for 2-3 months. I also use rain-X on the front and rear screens to minimize wiper use
  2. Yep! - first thing is post in the right area viewforum.php?f=3 Easy mistake (I remember only too well ) but welcome on board and yes there are lot of us that fit your description so you are in good company

  5. Just a tip-off to those new to posting in the for sale sections that mods have to approve each post. I noticed in the last batch I have just cleared that there were several double posts - no doubt because the first one did not pop up as expected. Sorry that has to be the case to ensure the posting rules are followed - so please bear with us and you will normally receive a notification when the post has been cleared
  6. Thread locked as item sold

  8. opps and yes, Heidfield did well after his dismal showing in Melbourne.
  9. .......and in time for the Wales weekend Andy
  10. Tyre wear is certainly going to be more of a factor this year - the track looked more like a gravel rally stage at the end All the while Seb is in front he is looking unbeatable. Good controlled race from Jenson - a legacy of his ability to use the tyres wisely and I do hope Kubica's stand-in Petrov has got away with his airborne stunt without damage to himself.
  11. No the contact did not have what I wanted but as an alternative, and not so far away near at Lingfield, try: http://www.i4detailing.co.uk/cgi-bin/ss ... PR=-1&TB=A Ask for Matt (don't go without checking he is there) and don't forget to mention your membership on here for discount
  12. Good man Keyser
  13. I have been spotted - first time away from a ZED meet. And not longer after I had passed a another GMcoupe going north on the A24 near Kingsfold. Your car looked very clean and no I didn't watch your driving as I was too engrossed checking up an address in the A-Z
  14. Mole Valley garage - they have had it for well over 6 months now.
  15. Has she told you it is so you can detail her car
  16. Happy b/d Dave
  17. Have a good one Chris - all you need to do is treat yourself to a nice new 370 so you can put one of those Stillen exhausts on
  18. Very happy to oblige with your request Hugh
  19. I have now put together the lists as best I can (see following post) but need further info from most entrants. Apologies in advance if I have cocked up names etc. So could you please: Check what I have listed is right for you. If it is not: pm me with any changes/additions rather than posting in the discussion thread. Please provide first names and +1 names where applicable and confirm whether you are doing both drives or just one and meals required (Sat eve BBQ and Sunday carvery). I do not have final prices yet for the meals but I guess you will want to eat so budget per person £10 for the carvery (one course) and £13 (to include the yummy puddings). 5/5/2011 UPDATE: THE SATURDAY CARVERY IS BEING PAID BY THE FORUM. The Saturday shopping option is aimed at the +1's who are not going on the drive or polishing cars in the afternoon and involves a train ride to Chester and back from the local Chirk station at their expense (about £7 for a return ticket). Currently working with other team members on the Saturday afternoon activity at Moreton with prizes for best turned out ZEDs etc. And there will also be a raffle over the weekend with car goodies as prizes.
  20. Heading adjusted Barry and a free
  21. Yup... same here.... Sunday drive and food... +1 You are now listed
  22. You treating your room mate then
  23. The Club's public insurance liability for this type event means that the maximum number of cars that we can accommodate for a drive-out is 50. So as of today's date there is are just 6 spaces left for the Sunday drive-out, unless we get cancellations. If anyone knows that they will need to cancel, or as soon as they do, please pm me. This is also important where members have booked accommodation at Moreton for the Saturday night so that we can re-allocate rooms to late-comers before Moreton are told. I will shortly be posting up a list of entrants and what we so far know as to requirements, so please watch for further news on this thread
  24. The recent posts are very helpful. Given Neilp and docwra explore the limits on track etc and therefore want tyres suited for the purpose and as I found from my motorsport days in the past, race experience does give you a different level of confidence for the road. So when your car does move about unexpectedly, (or provoked ) there is a better chance of knowing the reaction required and saving the day. The same goes for Dan (Ekona) who I am not surprised has held off posting for fear of repeating himself (if nothing else ). As Chris'I says and others of us who have ZEDs for quite of few years know, you will be safer on 4 matched tyres for everyday driving - yes in the dry you can get away using all sorts of rubber but come our (usual) wet conditions the best quality set of tyres you can afford is really essential to help you get the best from the ZED and in relative safety. So many times oil spills and the like have been blamed for accidents at roundabouts etc. But if we are honest we know that what are invairably going to be slippery conditions at such places is where you use the appropriate degree of caution before leaning onto the loud pedal. The point about having 4 matching tyres in such circumstances, and yes ideally with the same wear rate although the fact the fronts on the ZEDs last better, is that individual tyre construction will affect their break away limits - some do it progressively some give little warning - usually the low budget tyres. Personally I found the 452 Falkens fine for typical road use and gave good grip in wet and dry. But I agree that on track in the dry they would be pretty hopeless, but in wet track conditions I'm told they are as good as anything. Quite different to using 888's that are great in the dry but require a great deal of respect in the wet . I have no doubt the tyre debates will always feature and if you look back on here you will see many over the years. But hopefully those new to ZED ownership will be better informed when it comes to tyre choice because lets face it no one wants to go out an spend hundreds and hundreds of pounds on new rubber, or try and skimp on tyre purchase, only to find it has been money wasted and does not enable them to enjoy the full potential of their ZED.
