  1. The rev limiter is there to keep the engine alive longer. The car would probably rev to 7 or 7.5k with relative ease if Nissan wanted it to but they keep the cost of warranty parts down and customer satisfcation up by limiting it where they feel is right. It's not ideal to keep hitting it for comfort, speed and noise reasons alone, but the engine isn't sat there spinning - it's off! That said, if the car is cold then revving the car is more damaging than warm full stop.
  2. His feet planted on the throttle and the brake when he was hit. The onboard footage shows the wheels locking then rolling as they fight the engine and braking power.... As per my other post about Henry Surtees the other day, Massa is very lucky. It broke Surtees' neck and killed him. Very sad.
  3. About time McLaren stepped up, could make the rest of the season interesting if the Red Bulls are going backwards too. Chances of 4 or 5 drivers in with a shout at the last race??
  4. Sounds like two cars that could end up on the drive in the next 18 months!

    TOP GEAR TONIGHT

Are you blind?! It's typical Beemer fugly. Owners will almost always drive it with the roof up and it's not good. Living around the corner from BMW head office, these things have been around for a few months and they haven't grown on me. Fairly typical review though - pitch a car that is faster, cheaper, better equipped, more fun but still say buy the BMW (or Porsche) - gets a bit boring!
  6. My glaze (Poorboys White Diamond Glaze) goes on after the polishing, then the Chemical Guys jetSEAL 109 to give the protective coating. This time, I topped that off with Collinite and then some P21S as a wet look wax after. Main protection being the jetSEAL and the Collinite. After waxing, I don't really touch it, just use some Poorboys QD+ or some Megs Ultra Quick Detailer.
  7. Wonder Wheels destroyed my last OZ wheels. The inexperience of youth!
  8. There are plenty of window manufacturers about. Try a local search and see if there's a place that will come and measure and make for you. There's certainly a couple around the Berks way....
  9. It's normally something in the unit gone pete tong..... Hope they manage to fix it for you!
  10. Have the blocks on the 350's wiring been chopped at all? If not, then it will be the same loom as standard.... Not heard of the Nissan CD / MD changer control before - any pics?
  11. Nice one mate. Although there will be a time in the next few months that you will look at it and think 'Hhmm. Stillen would be good....'
  12. Old skool, looks like a right laugh for the track!

    Civic type R Alloys

In which case going from the staggered fitment and widths of the Rays I'd say 19" Honda wheels same width all round would be a step backwards for just about all reasons......
  14. You will have no worries if NA but you will have NO HP gains. I had read on my350z that people still had issues with NA applications as well? And apparently it changes the induction noise quite a lot (and it's not an improvement?)? If those with them tell me different then I might be back in the game!

What wheels does the car have on it already? Personally I'm not a fan of swapping different brands wheels (Honda onto Nissan) but I can see where you're coming from to be different!

    Texaco Fuel

Will try and get the maps off Gary to show the difference... the line on the dyno went from super smooth to looking like a saw tooth! Needed some 120 octain to get her back in shape again!! (Tis gooood $hit!) Aah, the BP 'station' at Silverstone!

    Texaco Fuel

I put some in mine the other day as I was caught out - the higher octane stuff - and mine doesn't feel anywhere near as happy as it usually does!
  19. I was going to get the SSV plenum and cover but for the issues Alex mentioned about the build quality.....
  20. It is indeed and there are new parts available as per Alex's link above.....
  21. I completed this the other day on a conference call - addictive!
