  1. V Power near me is 99 RON now. FWIW, I used some Texaco Super 98 in the Zed the other day, and boy has it not been happy since. It is being flushed out with V Power now! The Volvo has always been run (in my time) on Shell 95 RON and again I had to put some Texaco in the other day. It started idling at about 1400 rpm and was running hot. Shell stuff back in, all is well. Avoid Texaco!
  2. Tube stations don't tend to have car parks bud. You will be needing a mainline train station. Even stopping somewhere like Milton Keynes and getting the fast train in makes more sense - you get more central in about 25-30 minutes and avoid the London hassle.
  3. Just caught up with this. Sorry to see the car go Steve....
  4. Pretty sure it can't be done as all the electrickery for the standard hands free kit is in the BOSE unit.....

    New wheels

    Moved. Very nice wheels
  6. Exactly, you can't just plop it in there. You have to build it up and all the time taking up more space that a 10" sub needs as air to push for sound. So I'd go decent 8" that can both be built properly AND have the right volume.
  7. If I were going to do it I'd be using nothing more than a good 8" sub to get the proper volume. A JL 8W7 would kick 95% of other 10" subs into next week.
  8. Yep, club stand should be in place for this one.
  9. Get along to this if you can people. It's a good meet. I can't be at this one unfortunately.....
  10. The standard sub space is a) small, leaky. It will take a lot of work to seal it properly and the calculations will need to be done for the volume the sub needs (less the magnet, basket etc.). If you know the audio supplier / installer and they are any good this should be straight forward. It's unlikely the Kicker will fit (from memory) and have enough air. It might be a really good 8" or small enclosure 10" that is needed.....
  11. Not sure yet Dan, I will look into locations with the organisers.
  12. You only ever cleaned them with water. They have never been refurbished before. You clean the car regularly.
  13. what the bonnet or engine Engine bay bud. Not a fan of the bonnet - the second you touch it, finger prints. Second you clean it, scratches. Nice idea but not convinced.

    Carbon Wrap

    Looking good Dom!
  15. No thoughts of anyone being cheap at all guys n girls. Just good to have people along
  16. That all depends how many you have in the car and how quickly you get it activated.....! Sorry to hear this. To be fair to Nissan and the Zed, the NATS is generally pretty good. And generally it doesn't have to contend with pros and low loaders.... Between the various clubs it should be obvious if it comes up or a lot of parts appear. Shame he's not on the forums, it'd be more well known.
  17. Was good to meet up, few lovely cars there! Be good to have more along at the next event.
  18. not that i'm aware of, the toyo is just a performance tyre, they are good, but they really show there weakness when you track them, i know several people who track cars and have tried a variety of tyres and the majority of feedback is that the toyos are good for about 5 laps before they start to go taccy and you have to stop and let them cool. similair issue with the falkens. Exactly my point - if you're talking track tyres, none of those UHP things would meet 888's or the other real track tyres (in the dry). I agree that they go off on the track (mine did!). At the same time, they are the road tyre of choice for many an Elise driver. So selling something as a 'UHP' for a road car because it performs better on a track doesn't make sense to me. I guess it depends what the criteria are for these categories and whether it means anything in the real world....
  19. not really, its how they are broken down regarding their performance, just had a little read, and the top groups are UHP ultra high performance HP high performance P performance UHP will have better stopping power, grip levels etc i think its also to do with compounds as well, UHP will be softer than P but won't last as long http://www.galttech.com/research/cars/b ... -tires.php And if that were true, the T1R as a model of Toyo would be up there with UHP....
  20. OK, know what you mean then. Just branding crap designed to lure people to buying the more expensive tyre for their 318i when needed - 'well it is a premium car sir...' Probably more to do with rating than any real grip, durability, noise or other worthwhile property!!
  21. No way is that pricing anywhere near correct: T1Rs more than the PS2s?! No chance, they'd be cheaper than all of them. Maybe R1Rs or 888s, but not T1Rs. Someone from Camskill have made an almighty balls-up there. Taken off Black circles where poss... depends where you buy em, but the general gist still stands...tyres can be put into categories in terms of how much u willing to spend, how much grip or durability is important to you.. My last post didn't work, as the network dropped out, but the jist of what i was saying was that the falkens and toyos are just mid range tyres. and the rest were UHP (ultra high performance) tyres. as for the ultracs, was that price for the standard ultracs or the ssantas as there is a big difference in performance on the ssantas. will have to go and check them out. What's this classification of 'UHP'?? Or is it just a brand thing.....?
  22. Sadly that doesn't mean anything. We're still ongoing with a claim when a truck hit the Elise up the back as the other side haven't admitted fault. That was nearly 2 years ago now and still the Mrs has her no claims reduced and the claim pending on her file..... Going to court soon though!
