  1. Yup Although trying to explain the significance of another Zed to the wife was pretty pointless, regardless of how much pointing and drooling was going on My first 'spotted' as well - Luckily I was fully Megiuar'd up too
  2. Er, yup - that sounds like us I take it you were the slightly modded Azure example in the outside lane?
  3. Sounds freaky but it actually works. There's a list of error codes floating around somewhere, shouldn't be anything too bad. Mine turned out to be a faulty 02 sensor, others have mentioned that incorrectly seating the fuel cap produces the light as well
  4. Check! Excellent stuff. Top tip with the NXT wash is to wash a section at a time and rinse off - that way you end up with much less water marks than doing the whole car in one go. Also, try and get a water magnet if you can - awesome:)

    Watch out

That's not far from me either... To be honest I don't reckon the Zed is in the same 'stealability' league as the Focus RS (and Scooby, Evo etc.) I mean, what could you actually do with it? It would be useless as a ramraiding tool, and uttery pointless as a getaway car. You can't even stick 4 mates in it and hoon around town... Stolen to order is more likely I guess
  6. I quite like it, looks pretty good Although it doens't really fit with the rest of the range, which tend to be strong, bold colours. I wonder why different countries have different colour options, surely it's easy enough to offer the same variety - it's only a paint code after all..?
  7. Tow Hook cover? I thought it was there simply to collect wax residue and look pants
  8. That does look very nice Some very nice products used there Have you tried the Meguiars NXT range..? I have tried both the Autoglym and NXT and find very little difference, aside from the fact that the Autoglym does have a slight (very slight!) cut to it. It will happily remove water marks and does a good job of hiding fine swirl marks. I tend to use both, depending on what finish I'm after. For the summer, why not give the NXT a go..? Possible additions might be: Scratch X is great for remove fine scratches, swirls if you have any. (worth getting as slight marks are inevitable at some point!) I also like to use Meguiars Speed Detailer in between washes, to keep up the shine without using up 2/3 hours! Speed Wax is cool stuff for doing this as well - but perhaps their best use is the exposed paintwork as you open the doors - often overlooked - and it keeps it looking reall good A world of detailing possibilities..!
  9. Me too - P3 due in 2000 miles I think I have a written quote for a shade over £200 somewhere...
  10. I think the OC tried something like this, but it seemed a little more complictated than it needed to be. This thread seems a little easier to run/manage etc. So, Chorley Nissan (Chorley) Ok, fairly mediocre in fact. The service is generally ok, not that brilliant, but acceptable. I've had an ongoing issue with a faulty set of spare keys which they have yet to resolve, although in fairness they have been very accomodating. In summary: Fairly good, but sometimes the attention to detail is lacking. 7/10 could try harder Chorley Nissan (Preston) I can only comment on the sales experience here, but it's very similar to their sister branch. Slightly above average, nothing special. Their handover process was neatly managed, although the chap botched up the switch machine, and so for the next 40 mins I was calling LloydsTSB to find out where exactly my switch transaction had ended up. (talk about a brown-trouser moment) 7/10 could try harder
  11. Is the replacement a non-airbag wheel? A non standard steering wheel screams of a front end shunt to me. I would guess that the bag deployed and it's obviously a lot easier and cheaper to replace with a non-airbag wheel. I am a paraniod mofo, but it would make me think twice. I'd examine very carefully for panel gap tolerances around thr front bumper, lights etc.

    who's who

Oh, no - It will get worse (or better, depending on your perspective ) Dave by the way. Or David on Sundays Kuro is of course Japanese for black It's also my numberplate too
  13. £597 with Elephant (cheapest yet!) 7/8 Yrs NCD (0 points too ) Tried confused.com and they didn't get close

    GOT ONE!!!!

Congrats I like the Sunset colour a lot, it looks great in the summer.
  15. Welcome ex-Subaru driver I presume..?
  16. For me it's a fair few things 1. The way it pulls in ANY gear at all, regardless of speed 2. The way it looks 3. The way it sounds 4. The way kids shout '350z - yeah!' at you 5. The feeling of utter smugness as I pass Scooby drivers 6. The way it sounds 7. The way it holds it's own in a car park full of exotica 8. Did I mention the aural delight? (that's aural BTW ) 9. The pure 'driveability' of the thing - town, county, m'way - perfect 10.... oh, hang on - what was the this thread about again?
  17. Ah yes, but then you will get all sorts of contaminents on the paintwork and grind them in as you apply the wax K the amateur detailer (and paranoid mofo )
  18. Me too, the Zed is fine for all kinds of weather. I'd love to get a second car, but unfortunately; 1. I love the Zed too much - I bought it to drive! 2. I live 9 miles away from work, so no point to it really It's just like any other car, just drive sensibly and to the conditions I'd say it's no worse than any real wheel drive car. Ok, so it's not as sure-footed and frankly idiot-proof as an Impreza, but hey ho - you pays yer money
  19. As far as I'm aware, there's no difference in power output between the two models. I do know that UK spec cars are fitted with a larger radiator, as we apparently do more long distance driving (and at higher sustained speeds) than our Japanese cousins. Not a great deal of concern unless you're a 'Ring freak Handling should really be exactly the same, aside from the effects of having slightly smaller wheels. (easily cured) I did hear that the exhaust was different, resulting in a less fruity sound - this seemed to be the case when I test drove an import before settling on mine. One small feature of the imports that I didn't like was the fog lamp. Some owners have done this very tastfully and integrated it properly, look out for those who have simply chopped into the rear bumper and made a complete hash of it (yup, I did see one like that!) Good luck with the search anyway
  20. 1. When waxing the car, there ALWAYS seems to be a little stream of water coming from the petrol cap, which messes up yer wax 2. My '350Z' logo on the back seems to think it's funny to rip small chunks from my Megiuars wash mitt every single time Aside from that, it's *all* good
  21. There's a huge difference in prices between the dealers, with no standard charges at all - which makes life interesting What is good, is that there are quite a few Nissan dealers, so it's always handy to play one against the other. In general I have always found the service prices to be incredibly reasonable - which I suppose is one of the advantages of a volume manufacturer. And coming from a Scooby, I feel positively wealthy on leaving the dealership
  22. Hmmm, good post I try and theme things as well, although somehow that never works out 1. Rammstein - Mutter 2. Rammstein - Rosenrot 3. Mix - Apocalyptica, some other classical material 4. Faithless - Outrospective 5. Jamiroquai - Greatest Hits 6. Back Street Boys or something (Slot no.6 has always been commandeered by the wife!)
  23. Just a quick post in relation to my earlier thread about a slightly lumpy idle. (very slight, but something there!) I remembered last week that my last fill up was in Scotland, with Texaco 95ron Having filled up with Super a few days ago, the idle thing has cleared up, and the Zed is now as smooth as ever. (not wanting to ignite the 95 v Super row again folks, just highlighting one case in particular!) K
