  1. I think it's pretty cool - I've set mine around 5500 I think - TBH it doesn't flash half as often as it should
  2. Hmmm, I ran mine dry - with no warning lights coming on at all
  3. I'm planning on doing this in September. I've already bought the Tom Tom One Europe I'm a complete beginner, and to be honest, lap times or anything remotely close are well out of my mind - it's more about the trip, and just driving the ring. Should be something to look back on in a few years time when I'll be spinning around in a Passat or something I'm planning to take the Dover - Dunkirk ferry (£75 return) and stay in Koblenz at the Ibis (£50 per night) Again, very early september (it has more full days on offer than August) if anyone fancies it
  4. Really? So I may as well add the other 5L bottle then really... Surely that ones of the largest tanks(s) around..? That's quite a bit of weight as well
  5. Just how big are those tanks? Can't find any reference to their capacity in the manual, but they've just sucked up 5 litres, and I don't reckon they're full Halfords are doing a very nice smelling 3 for 2 offer BTW
  6. That makes sense Thanks all
  7. I felt sure this had been covered before, but the search didn't turn up much Anyway, just wondering what the average or normal idle speed is among the community? Mine has always been a very steady 575-675 ish rpm (when warm obviousy!) Recently, it has dropped slightly, to pretty much spot on 500rpm, maybe a little less. Slightly blipping results in it settling below this mark for just a second, before resuming normal service... I only noticed because the sound of the engine changed slightly (yes, I do listen to my Zed very carefully in the garage ) Owt to worry about..?
  8. I've often thought of it, perhaps in the future. I have seen pics of the space, and can confirm that it's huge behind there, and should easily accomodate an average sub. In terms of placement, soundstage wise it's probably not the best - but we don't exactly have a great deal fo choice with a Zed. If you can do it, then go for it..!
  9. there's a couple in the car park today, behind BAE Systems York House, 1 GM and a Blade - both looking very cool
  10. He's a top bloke, and very fair. That's twice he helped me out now
  11. Having bought a Tom Tom One Europe (for the ring mainly!) I'm considering this Custom Mount stuff at the moment. The only problem I can see with the One, is that the power lead is on the bottom of the unit Whilst it fits snugly in the cubby hold vertically, I can't see any way around this one. I think for now, I'll custom fit the thing, and charge it out of the cubby hole (we'll figure somehting out!) As far as the custom mount goes, I thought about hollowing out a piece of MDF, and covering it with the same black felt stuff as used in the cubby, should look pretty stealthy and cut down on reflections etc.
  12. Well, some of you may remember my Injured Zed thread, where some bloke had mashed my drivers door during the recent high winds. I took the Zed to see Dave Latham (Denttec) the other week, and he did a pretty good job It started off like this; (basically a 7/8 inch selection of dents down the middle of the door, going from the crease bit, to beneath the crash bar thingy.) http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5876 Dave was sceptical, and suggested that it would never be perfect After several hours, which included taking off the inner door card for better access (thanks Dave ) he did an excellent job. Unfortunately, one persistent dent sort of remained, inaccessible due to the weighty crash bar thing. However, it's barely noticable on a good day, let alone a normal day. It now looks like this; All in all, Dave did an excellent job. He was unhappy with the final result and charged £50 rather than the quoted £75. To be honest, I am pretty pleased with the result. The photos don't really do it justice. It's one of those things where you have to look to find it, it's in no way obvious - which is good stuff Lessons Learned: 1. Windy days - reciepe for pain and suffering 2. Denttec are excellent, fair and very hardworking
  13. Me too, and I know what you mean. I can't remember the amount of +£500 bills I had for that thing Mind you, it was a ot lof fun, and in some way I do miss the beast But I think you'll find the Zed to be so much cheaper to run. Servicing isn't much compared to Scooby stuff. I was warned when buying the thing that services 'could run up to £300 in some cases sir" Jeez, I nearly laughed my ass off Tyres are roughly the same cost, although this all depends on how you drive. I got 29,000 miles from my last set of GYF1's on the classic Scooby Zed ownership is a great experience, you'll love it
  14. Top Tip from me would have to be Autosol for the exhaust - awesome product. I'm into my megiuars at the moment, using most of the NXT range, the mits, Scratch X etc. I've used Autoglym too, and to be honest there's not a great deal of difference. I would say that the NXT shampoo beats the autoglym because it seems to rinse easier and clearer. (apparently it has a water softener) Interestingly, the NXT wax is so mild that it doesn't actually remove water marks, where as autoglym deep shine stuff (black label) will. I really like the Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber Care, and the Bumper Care stuff is awesome. (for the black platic around the wing mirrors - takes it back to jet black!) The megiuars NXT glass cleaner has the edge over the autoglym, purely on 'useability' grounds. All subjective really I guess ...and of course, all good fun

    P3 Service

P3 is the sensible option... Although you don't actually need one for another 6000 miles, there's little point in opting for a P1 or P2. That said, if you do very low mileage indeed, you could go for a lesser service I suppose, just until you reach the 4year barrier. P3 it, just to be sure
  16. I'm obviously not braking enough - I'm on 30k and still on the originals. Need some soonish tho. Ditto

    Zed injured...

The Zed is booked in Friday... He said the dent on the crease is no problem - cool BUT, he said the others are nasty, and he may only get the Zed back to 90% I guess we'll just have to see how it goes - will update with pics on friday...

    Zed injured...

You're in safe hands with Dave. Best of luck with it! I hope so. My only worry is that one of the dents is across the 'seam' bit... Can't be sure but I think one of mine was and he got rid of it fine. Ah, is yours the Azure example on Dave's testimonials bit..?

    Zed injured...

the depressing pics as promised... and To be honest, even though I'm not an expert, they don't look that bad. I'm reasonaby confident they will pop out. (famous last words...) Anyway, I'm in contact with our Denttec chap, so we'll se how it goes.[/url]
  22. Well, despite it being like Cape Horn up here today, some turkey decided it would be a good idea to open their door and *not* keep hold of it So, I now have a lovely vertical line of dents down my previousy perfect drivers door. Don't you just love these people... Luckily, the paint isn't broken - scuffed slightly, but not broken. So, I think I may need the discount code for Dave Latham at Denttec..! (He did a similar job for me and the Scooby - excellent work) Unfortunately, the line of dents goes across the 'seam' in the door - not sure how this affects things... What a day... pics to follow when I get home
