  4. about £35 give or take a small amount
  5. good luck with the car, and i post on any thread, that i can get away with talking about random stuff on like lego regardless of the sex of the OP.
  6. what a random "car" forum this is
  7. just watched it, was a good episode, very exciting.
  8. its muppets like this that sue companies through loop holes in the law even when common sense should prevail for instance a bag of nuts now contain labels warning that this bag contains nuts. if someone is stupid enough not to realise that the bag of nuts contains nuts and has a reaction to it, well its there own stupid fault. proof that the darwin awards are right, survival of the fittest as the stupid people wipe themselves out
  9. its good fun, lots to see, pm me your number and i'll drop you atext to meet up. we'll hopefully be there about the same time.
  10. i'm interested to know what science your basing your facts on here. we are talking about the same carbon fibre that is flexible enough to be used for snow boards and kite surfing. or resiliant enough to temperature to be used for exhausts on motorbikes and cars. the same material that has a tensile strength 3 times of steel, yet a density 4.5 times less. the fibres are made at temperatures over 3000 degrees celsius and also have a boiling point of over this as well. can't remember the melting point of it, and am struggling to find it. but i'm fairly certain that its about the same as aluminium. its an inert material which is extrememly flame and heat resistant, and is a proven material in F1 from gear boxes to chassis, bike cogs, etc etc. i agree that yes we have to becafeful with our supplies, and your right to point out BM's thread as it brought to light many importnat areas on this forum when it comes to supply. but scott has already been producing parts for people and i have seen and can vouch for the quality of those items. i also agree that for the 350z this is an untested area, but i am more confident in the product due to the company already making similiar items for other vehicles. i would say it possibly needs a running in period on scotts car to prove its abilities, but i am fairly confident that it won't melt into the intake valves. and if the engine bay temperqtures are getting hotter than the melting point for aluminium we may need to inform nissan to tell them not to use that for their current plenums.
  11. can do, ive got the 6 o clock show.
  12. its stupid people like him that mean we have stupid signs and instructions on things like this http://airportshotelsandparking.files.w ... _signs.jpg
  13. i have run the lego league at a previous school, and my boss runs it at my current one. students get given robotic lego to build with and have to complete challenges with their lego built robots. big national competition, have even won a couple of trophies with a few groups as well.
  14. personally the CF should be more heat resistant than the plastic and shouldn't warp or distort as easily as what looks to be ABS on the kinetix. i believe kinetix chose to use plastic for more rapid production in greater numbers to allow for cheap manufacturing and highr profit. in theroy they had a good idea with their plenum but in reality they have suffered issues. some crack some don't and they have done a good job with customer relations by offering replacements etc and doing 3 revisions. but due to being stuk with that material they are still going to have issues.
  15. sorry martin you lost me? which £800 plenums have failed. are you following a thread i'm not cos i don't know where this came from always up for discussing it though. materials and tooling is my job
  16. i think he's pulling an MG rover do you work for an icelandic bank?
  17. IMHO i think its due to their material choice. CF i used correctly can be stronger than steel but lighter than aluminium. and should be able to offer the characteristics you need for a plenum. the area where the bolts are going through will also have the thickness of a spacer there that kinetix doesn't have. BMW run carbon plenums as do other brands in aftermarket parts, its not the first time its been used. and if its good enough for mclaren then its good enough for me.
  18. always worry when people refer to it as my advice, all of what i post is just my opinion, and as some can vouch i don't always get it 100% right. but you'll be pretty safe with this stuff as it is really good. IMHO
  19. should be able to achieve the same tight fit
  20. yep, its cheaper quicker and easier
  21. am happy with the Zed but don't see the 370 as an upgrade. if i was to change cars i doubt it would be for the next model up. never been brand loyal when it comes to cars. and each move is always for something different. i fancy a lotus next. possibly the evora. as for your idea no i'm not coughing up £67 that will pay for a mod on my own car
  22. 11) rtbiscuit 12) srobrien 13) DontPanic 14) Lamby 15) fatalus 16) Vik54 17) ikarus just been back and trawled the posts and got the current list for the next 10 does that seem all right, just need 3 more.
  23. need to get my name on the second list because as far as i'm aware i go tmyself pulled from the first list. if i haven't do i owe someone some money?
  24. i kinda missed the last series, but the ones before that were good. might try and get back in to it.
