yes i had it in my car and fully wired in through the headunit. i paid about 380 about 2 years ago, so a very good buy at 180. at that price it makes it a very good deal.
imho it would be the best possible retro fit available for the zed. i have written a full review on it and did a fit on it and several other threads.
worth a search on the forum.
i'm like lincolnbaggie; was a trombonist; played for about 7 years got to about grade 7 standard. stopped playing about 7 yeats ago.
played in several orchestras and bands. do miss it; just never got round to picking it back up.
i think thats the advantage of having something like cars as a hobby it gives you that release your not getting from work.
i think the down side is when you turn that hobby into a career it can take the shine of it as your doing it all the time.
bit liek eating to many sweets or ice cream. in small doses its great but you can get sick of it if you have too much
I remember my Mum attending a careers thing at my school and a woman standing up and saying 'any degree is better than no degree'
My parents don't believe that. My Dad left school with no qualifications - didn't even sit his exams and well, he hasn't done badly for himself. Hard work is very under rated at the moment.
both my parents were the same, although they supported me with what ever i wanted to do. i felt i needed a degree so thats what i did. and due to the high level of writing involved and study i really struggled. i wish i'd gone off and done an apprenticeship. although i've landed on my feet and i'm good at what i do and i still get to work in the workshop. i make up for what my job lacks in by doing projects at home.
i have a mix between the 2; but to be honest i'd rather do less marking and planning and more making.
when i was at school everyone pushed you to go and do a degree, and that you'll never amount to anything without one. looking back with hind sight i find this very wrong; and now with my own students i try and encourage both an academic and a practical option.
thats a standard issue with trying to wire OEM satnav through a new headunit. several people have already found this out.
i don't think there is a specific output that can be re directed into a headunit.
i changed mine after 18 months, but you can get refills for them for a fraction of the whole wiper.
after 18 months they were still working well, but the drivers was starting to smear slightly. it was still better than stock even when smearing.
not really like the 5AD wheels, more like the 5zigens, plus the 5zigens come in better offsets, and a wider size and probably cost less and chilli red can get them for a good price
personally i wouldn't mention it; unless the buyer specifically asks. the radio works fine i'm guessing, and if it skips it probably only does it when its cold.
its a known issue; but not a deal breaker to be honest.
just been on ebay, admittedly none of these are recon's but not massive prices either
http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_nkw=cors ... m270.l1313
personally i would recon
Recon engine: 500 gbp
turbo: second hand 100 gbp brand new 200gbp roughly
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Corsa-1-3-turbo-C ... 4150e0c643
gaskets and time belts, probably about what they quoted, although looking a ttheir prices i bet you could probably get them cheaper.
labour on a rough price of about 30 gbp an hour and say 12 hours work 360 gbp if they are using similiar hourly rates they reckon 20 hours of work.
to be honest i reckon it should be doable for 1500 gbp easily.
it might be quicker to get hold of him if you book the "transgender-bender dance troop" you can chat to him while he lap dances for you. hint... he's the one with the long blonde hair, slim waist, big boobs and a moustache
only kidding Lee, hope all is well and that your not running yourself into the ground.
to be honest last time i heard from him he wasn't really stopping to sleep; i think he's a cyborg.
i heard he had a sex change and joined a berlesque dance troop.
he is uber busy, keep sending the PM's he sometimes needs them repeatedly sent as the message does show up in his own email box.
plastic welding. i.e. melting it together with heat is often done with a soldering iron. i personally think its a shoddy way to work as the polymer bonds are no longer the same where the join is. and it isn't as strong as it used to be.
i personally would make a small upside down "L" bracket to fit underneath where you join to pieces together, and then use a small piece of ally on top to make an ally; plastic; sandwich. i'd bond the lot together with areldite. then maybe a couple of wraps of gaffa tape. and redrill the original whole through the whole sandwich. ally thickness wise id be looking at 0.5mm -1mm sheet.
bloke on the s2k forum was burgled and has just replaced all locks and keys as his car keys were taken. the bill from honda was
