  1. I got my S2k nearly 4 weeks ago, but i haven't had time till this weekend to really give it a full clean. the car has been really well maintained and washed on a regular basis; sadly the previous owner didn't know much about car care and the paint was very badly swirled; not only that but the garage i bought it from had given it a go over with a machine buffer, and i could see exaclty where they had been. so todays job was to try and restore the paint as much as possible and give the car back some shine. TIME TAKEN:6 Hours PRODUCTS USED AND THE ORDER USED: - Renovo vinyl roof cleaner sponged on - renovo vinyl roof protector sponged on - megs nxt car shampoo with lambs wool mit - megs claybar and DODO born slippy - megs swirl x - DODO lime and prime lite - DODO supernatural wax - DODO red mist - PIAA screen Cleaner - PIAA Screen Protectant - Megs tyre gel - poor boys leather care I tried to take some pictures to show how bad the swirls were and how dirty it had got. i had already done the roof before i rememebered the camera, so sadly you cant see the improvement the renovo made to the roof, but it is extrememly good stuff. the worst swirled areas on the car were the rear boot and the bonnet. as you can see there are some small wear patches on the roof, but on the whole doesn;t look bad for an 8 year old roof these pictures were all after the first wash and clay; as you can see the the paint still needs some work. .... the finished article with some reflection shots to show how clean the paint work is now. as you can see there is some swirling still left but alot less than before My new investment of PIAA wiper Blades; these things worked wonders with my Zed so i had to get them for the S2K, have also moved on from Rainex and have just put on my first coats of PIAA fluids. must admit it was far easier to apply and buff clean than the rainx. look forward to seeing how well it all works. ... overall i have been really impressed with the finish and it has made a mssive difference to the finish of the car. the boot has come up fantastic and there are no more swirls what so ever, the bonnet on the other hand is miles better but still needs some more work, i might have to go and see a professional to get it properly machine polished. but the swirls are alot better. the super natural wax is as always awesome, its the first time i've used to on a dark colour and was unsure how well it would work but have to say its payed for its self.
  2. the last one with the hat on was good, and the lost poster was spot on.
  3. in my old zed if you lifted the boot mat up it had a secret portal to narnia hidden there. is that normal?
  4. i never say detailing, if any one asks i always say; i'm off to clean the car; as thats exactly what i'm doing
  5. when i had my zed it only got the full works i.e a clay and polish twice a year. the rest of the time was wash surface prep and wax. i do more than any polish car wash would do and i use far superior products. in my mind it fits the current "buzz" word of "detailing" as said above detailing is washing and cleaning a car while taking car of the small "details" at the end of the day regardless of how well or how much effort you put into it or what you choose to call it; it is just washing the car; nothing more; nothing less.
  6. shame to see another good soldier go to waste; touching tribute RIP
  7. they used to have a good rep, but that was with the old regime, if i remember rightly when the management changed the good tuners from thor left. and since then i've not heard good things. i think most people in the know, are well aware of thor and to steer clear. the heavy handed approach sucks though, i would have had the police straight down especially as he would have all the recipts for parts etc. these days i wouldn't recccomend thor to inflate a tyre; let alone work on an engine. and if he's reading this my pm button is just at the bottom of this post

  12. if your getting any tuning work and its a nissan, the easy answer is go to abbey. there happy post count is through the roof, never hear a bad word, and its always well spoken of. as for the other garage. the one i think it is; are on here and have posted before and there were complaints on here. i'm aware of other work they've done both on mr2roc. i've never used them so have no complaint; so its not my place to say. as has been said by the mods. if aggrieved parties want to come forward then fair enough.
  13. i drew up something similiar when i sold cars privately, its a good thing to have
  14. probably the same one i'm thinking of. was over on MR2ROC recently and there was a thread on there talking about a certain place that had bodged the mapping for an engine conversion project.
  15. this from a UK tuning garage; only one place springs to mind right now, but i shall keep it to myself
  16. me likey all i need to do now is increase my public sector wage and i'll get one for my wife. oh... hang on... thats not going to happen for a long time will have to wait a few years till they come out second
  17. i have enjoyed reading this thread, not because of the situation tarmac is in, but how passive aggressive so many of you are. tarmac is like me i think, either confront it head on; face to face; or leave it. some of you are now a little bit freaky
  18. thats sacrilegious; how dare you defile the name of vredestein; hand in your membership now, leave and never come back only kidding, i'll forgive your poor car knowledge your still fairly new

excellent detail work, really done a good job, sadly i'm not a fast ford fan, for me when i lived in essex it was the ford that was the epitomy of essex life. hated them with a passion. huge respect for what they are but just couldn't pull myself to buy a ford.
  20. does it require some kind of flash player?
