  1. i'm more than happy for you to make up the difference in my salary and i'll buy the alfa V6 but i don't think anyone on here wants to give me a minimum of 400.00 a year extra so i can have a thirstier car. and i'm not sure many would complain of an extra 1250.00 a year in their pocket and thats before costs go up. i'm married have a mortgage, hoping for kids in the near future and only earn a teachers salary. sometimes the head has to make the decisions as the heart cant do maths. and stop nicking my sayings and you said last night the diesel idea is awesome especially if i get it re mapped and stop stirring crap up
  2. its a wheel love affair unabashed, doesnt paul have some wheels as well, i think they were his red volk things,
  3. aren't they volks, and dont they weigh the about the same as the light side of feck all compared to most other 19" wheels. bigger tyres, = more traction, lower profile = less tyre roll.
  4. haven't added servicing, but worked out it would all be the same roughly on each car so made no real difference; but i have worked out the savings or not savings over different cars using it - alfa diesel £1,643.78 saving over alfa v6 - diesel £1,255.47 saving over s2k - lpg £952.14 saving over s2k - golf £79.48 more than the s2k - audi v6 £350.00 saving over s2k - m3 £1,041.35 more than the s2k - 350z £488.31 more than the s2k
  5. yes sorry am a bit geeky but finding it very helpful in making up my mind, am going to try and work out total costs for the year inc insurance etc to see how much i'll save if i go diesel and if its worth it compared to the initial purchase cost etc.
  6. i am; as my wife will tell you a bit geeky at times; and i do like my spread sheets, (its a bizzare offshoot i've gained from being a Teacher, and storing all my marking etc). Any way as many of you will realise i'm looking at changing cars so to help with the decision i built a formulated spread sheet to work out the yearly costs of just fuel alone for 1 year. i found it quiet interesting so thought i'd share it. all of the car data was taken from parkers and the mpg does match up with my own figures the petrol prices are taken from petrol prices.com and are the national average and i set the mileage at 12,000 which is my yearly average. the comparisons use several petrols an lpg version a diesel and my s2000 and old 350z have also added a 15p increase option as well and how much of the cost goes to the government coffers if people want to know what the zed costs are with different mileage etc its all on formulas etc so i can adjust easily for people if they are interested.
  7. i couldn't, i have a dodgy ankle and just could not get my foot across, even with the 380z pedal upgrade, the brake pedal is too high in comparison to the loud pedal. you can adjust the brake pedal to lower it but i hear its an arse ache to do. very fiddly
  8. The zed is a very good GT cruiser, eats miles with ease and has plenty of grunt for overtaking or pulling away with out always having to drop a gear. although very heavy the zed can hold her own on the track but to be properly competetive she does need a big diet and a full race overhaul.
  9. thats easy its to tall to sleep in a standard bed

    Tyres.

still doesnt make the tyre any better, jenson button could run them on his car and endorse them still doesnt make them any better and still wouldn't put them on my car.
  11. i cant stand the G wizz, if i had machine guns i would mow down any **** in a Gwizz with a hail of .50 cal rounds. god aweful pieces of junk.

    Tyres.

toyos are bloody horrible; ran them on a previous car and it weas like driving on jelly; the side walls are very soft with lots of tyre roll. might be alright with a very low profile but i don't rate them and wouldn't use them again. vredesteins would be my first choice if you had more cash then the MPS2's others love them but i think they're gash
  13. if you want it to change you'd need to target the government. only thing i can think of is when the poll tax came in; loads of people refused to pay it so it ended up being scrapped. if you could get enough people to refuse to pay their road fund licence that might have the desired effect; but you'd need the majority of the driving public to do it.
  14. engine will be fine as long as all the fluids are frsh before hand and replaced afterwards. use a good oil with high heat properties. if this is on the track your more likely to see brake failure on the zed before anything else if your racing for 24hrs. so decent discs, pads and fluids are very neccessary. not sure if its required but i;d also do the coolant and make sure the levels are all good.
