  1. The point I'm making is that its not man-made issue. It's just what the earth does. Yet we're sold it as a green issue. And we hqve to make huge changes, yet industry doesn't. And any co2 saving we make national gets gobbled up in 2 weeks by India.and China expanding.
  2. just more proof that global warming is a pile of crap! and just another method of taxing people
  3. as a tech teacher i only do things one way....the right way
  4. i frickin love wasabi peas' and as for nixy you never finished your responce; did you spit or swallow in the end?
  5. i've been thinking of getting one for ages.
  6. internal drive nuts are the best, just don't both with aluminium ones, the metals too soft. steel will be fine
  7. i used ones very similiar to these but in black http://www.trackculture.com/shop/wheels ... kages.html they are steel internal drive nuts, and they are brilliant, i know a few places that do them in different colours as well. and each nut acts as a locking wheel nut as you need the special tool. as for using light weight ally wheel nuts, when they were used in motorsport they were designed as a single use item, basically onces you take them off you bin them. the other thing i've seen ally wheel nuts do is sheer off leaving half the nut on the wheel but nothing to grip on to to take them off with. there was a thread ages ago of a lad who cut his alloy up to get the nut off. i'd only use steel ones, and i prefer internal drive as it makes it a lot safer on fitting so that you won't damage the paint on the wheel when your tightening or loosening them. if you did get external drive, then get hold of a plstic sleeved socket, or wrapa socket up in masking tape; lots of masking tape to act like a cushion.
  8. i suppose that would mean i would need to post in it twice, does that make me like the forum version of herpes; you think you got rid of me, yet i keep coming back like a nasty rash
  9. really good choice and a nice spec as well, those recaro's are as rare as rocking horse poop. a very nice find if it helps at all i now have access to JTIS at home which is Jaguars Complete workshop manual and service guide. has everything from all the DTC codes, to the BCM diagrams, and full service sections and how to dismantle stuff. its the exact system the Jaguar technician would use if they were working on your car in a Jag garage. i've also found that if you have an android based smart phone that the App called torque paired with a generic Bluetooth OBDII reader reads all the codes etc. so if you need anything i can give you part numbers etc and i am already building a selection of good independent supplies for well priced parts. you'll really like it when you get it, and the supercharger is addictive.
  10. i would noramlly say on other cars that a high bite point is a good indicator as well, but the Zed is renowned for having a high bite point. so wouldn't generally use it as an indicator on the Zed.
  11. Seats look fine to be honest, when you've seen a few, you'll know what i mean. forgot to mention they are konig seats, not recaro force of habit. i like the look of the all leather ones, just treat them well and they should be fine, use a good leathe care package on it and they should stay in good nick.
  12. 2 methods, worth doing both as both show different things. first on is put it in third gear, and fromo a stand still gently pull away, you'll need some revs but not redlining it, if that makes sense. just a little more than normal. if the clutch is good the car should pull away, albeit with a little juddering and shaking. if the clutch is going it will really struggle or stall completely. the other test i'm not as familiar with but others use it on here, if i remember rightly, sit the car in 4th gear and drive at around 30 or 40 mph, then on a straight bit of road with no one around, drop it straight into 6th and floor the accelerator pedal. the revs should drop and the car will slowly creep up the revs and the speed. if the clutch is going the revs will bounce really high then drop. if that makes sense.
  13. depends on the driver really, just do a clutch slip test, and if it passes then your fine, if its showing signs of wear then it needs replacing at some point.
  14. just watched both on youtube; they made me smile, but can;t say i was wetting myself with laughter.
  15. having been out in a friends scooby at the weekend, i can vouch for the fact that they are great fun
  16. you only live once, and at least you know the paint is nice and thick
  17. The R32 was a serious contender when i was selling the Zed and again when i was selling the S2000. i really like them, very much a stealth car, not a lot to give them away apart from the twin exhaust, the badge and the wheels. i loved the Mk4 recaro seats, looked stunning. tip is to go for the part leather ones, as the full leather ones tended to stretch in the middle section and look saggy. difficult to find good quality low mile ones or un molested ones but they are the best to go for, preferably the blue, or the black look best. engines are pretty solid, tended to have a few minor issues like needing new coil packs etc, but nothing major, and no different to run really compared to the zed. power and performance is not disimiliar to the zed, both are very smooth, both are deceptive of how fast your actually going. would say the R32 has the nicer interior over the Zed, really nice blue dash and dials. really good extras to get and worth a look on you tube are things like the milltek unresonated exhaust, makes the V6 come alive, and really is a stunning sound, would possibly say better than the zed. driving wise; the R32 is a good drive, the haldex 4wd system is nice, can;t always tell when it does or does not kick in , but the car does stick well in the corners. far easier to chuch around on country roads as there is a lot more grip. but would possibly say the Zed is a little more rewarding to drive if comparing stock against stock car. the haldex works as a front wheel drive car but kicks in the rears with power if they start to slip. you can get haldex controllers that alllow you to shift the bias of % to the rear over the fronts i think. if you like the R32 the other option is the early audi S3's same car, but instead of a V6 its a turbo unit and you can easily tune the nuts off them for silly power. R32 wise, i liked thedrive of the mk5 but loved the seats in the Mk4, the mk5 was more refined, and i loved the DSG box in it. both good cars and you can't really loose out as they hold their price well. as a replacement for the Zed, its got to be a personal decision, i think its a good one, but you'll need to test drive it yourself to decide.
