  1. Not sure if buzzing is the right word, it's like a constant fuzzy white noise from the speakers, does that sound similar to you? I haven't yet checked the resistance with a multimeter so I'll check this tomorrow
  2. Unfortunately I've still had no luck with this - I'll put the things I've tried below, does anyone have any idea what else I can try? Suggestions per the above Crutchfield article: Is your receiver securely grounded? - Yes, I am using the frame as suggested in CS2000's head unit wiring guide. Antenna noise - The noise is there regardless of source or if the antenna is unplugged Radiated noise - I have removed the head unit from the dash as far as possible, and there is no change to the sound. Engine noise - The noise is there regardless of engine being on or off The article then starts talking about amplifiers. My car has the BOSE amp, and I have maxed out the old head units volume prior to removing it as suggested. The wiring harness has also already been modified per Buster's mod. So the RCA cables removed and wire into a regular 8 pin ISO plug. I have also removed all the plastics in the boot to access the amp, and have tried to disconnect it from the bodywork as much as possible. Again there was no change in sound. So at this point I have no idea what to do! Should I remove the old amp completely, and run a new amp with new wires? One thing I did notice was that in this post: https://www.350z-uk.com/topic/55445-wiring-in-a-new-hu-this-guide-may-help/ on the 3rd picture it was shows there should be a ground wire coming from the smallest plug on the harness, which you connect to your grounding point. In my harness there is no wire. I manually added a wire and but this had no effect. Finally, I have not yet connected my steering wheel controls, but would assume that this should have no effect on residual sound from the unit? Any thoughts anyone?
  3. Not sure on these in black - people prefer the looks of big rims, and this just completely detracts from that. Silver might work though without looking out of place.
  4. Still available - lowest price of £50 + postage, just want to get rid of it now! This is the upstream sensor, only just realised that I didn't mention this before.
  5. Thanks Coldel, that seems to be a pretty indepth guide which covers my exact issue. I'll try each solution tonight and hopefully one will do the trick!
  6. Anyone got any clues? I'm going to try pull it all out again tonight and relocate all the grounding wires to the same place and see if that helps. Any input prior to that would be really useful. Fortunately you can't hear it over the exhaust, but I'd really like it sorted.
  7. Removed - thought this was for the 350
  8. I've just put a new stereo in my Zed (Kenwood DMX-7017DABS), but there's a constant buzzing/static noise coming from the speakers whenever the radio is on. It doesn't matter what source I use, it's always there. Muting the stereo has no effect. Has anyone else come accross this and solved it? I've done my best to google but can't find any solutions. The wiring harness has been modded so it doesn't use the RCA cables already.
  9. Quick update to this: do not buy the stereo I recommended above (Sony XAV-AX3005DB). I finally got round to buying one, and Android Auto doesn't work, it continually freezes and doesn't recognise my phone. Started googling it and it appears to be a common problem with these models (and the 5000 as well), so based on that I would definitely avoid it. I've now put in a Kenwood DMX-7017DABS from Halfords for £340, and although the UI is a bit cluttered it is definitely the better model.
  10. Can't you just find a switched live from the headlights and use that? Or alternatively find which fuse relates to the headlights and use a add-a-circuit tap?
  11. I think it all comes as one kit - the only part I'm missing is the box? https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/29-674-nissan-350z-coupe-roadstar-murano-i-steering-wheel-stalk-control-adaptor.html The patch lead on the end is a separate purchase depending on the stereo brand you purchase.
  12. I've got a wiring harness for my head unit but appear to be missing a part of it, the part in the blue square below (black box with white connector and aux lead) Does anyone have one of these lying around? or even a full wiring harness they're getting rid of cheap? Thanks in advance
  13. Most AA/CP head units have a USB port on the rear side of the head unit, so you run the cable behind the dash and have the end sticking out near where you connect your phone. If you want a CD drive this will rule out a lot of the higher end models. The only one I can see on Halford's website that has both Apple CarPlay & a CD Drive is the Sony XAV-AX200. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-XAV-AX200-6-4-Inch-Premium-Receiver/dp/B074FQ9BP1
  14. Not quite fortunately! Apparently the £65 increase is only for new cars, so "only" £570
  15. I'm about an hour away from you in King's Lynn, but if you can't find anyone closer and wanted to meet in the middle and check the car out I'm up for it.
  16. Awesome - been waiting for this! Just placed my order
  17. @ZMANALEX is basically the forum expert. He asked several questions above, but didn't get a reply. He also mentioned that he has seen this several times before, so if you ask really nicely he may come to the rescue and tell you exactly what you need. While I don't doubt your garage is competent, I do doubt that they are Zed specialists. I've quoted his comment below:
  18. I'm a big fan of the Sony head units, I'd go for the Sony XAV-AX3005db. The UI is incredibly smooth, some of the Pioneer/JVC/Kenwood models have a noticeable stutter when selecting apps which really put me off them. The adjustable settings are fairly basic, but should cover most of what you want it to do. I'd suggest going into your local Halfords and having a go with a few of the units and see what you think. For a decent model you're probably looking at £300+, lower end models like the XAV-AX100 are about £200. If you can afford it I'd go for the newer faster ones. Definitely go for a stereo that has Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, as this will mean the head unit will constantly be up to date with the latest technology. Stay away from anything android or windows based.
  19. If the car is a DE/RevUp,why would it have a 240mm clutch in it - is that not HR only?
  20. Is your car an HR, and you've bough a clutch for the DE?
  21. Wow I wasn't aware of this increase. £620 to tax my HR next year, wow.
  22. Perfect thank you, that's exactly what I needed. I'll only have my other half to help me, so I'll have to keep a very close eye on the reservoir.
  23. The clutch fluid on my HR is looking very brown, so I've just ordered some Motul RBF 600 so I can flush it out myself next week. I've seen in a few videos of people changing fluid in a 370z (same as HR i believe) that they drained the reservoir completely and then cleaned inside it with a lint-free cloth. Doesn't this introduce air into the system though? Which then causes alot of problems trying to bleed the clutch? If I don't drain the reservoir fully, how am I meant to clean the dirt from inside the reservoir? Thanks in advance
  24. Fairly sure they've been steadily increasing over the years, however I imagine that the HR costwould increase at the same rate as the DE's, so no real change in value there.
