  1. I have the Ryobi impact gun you linked above - it's a good bit of kit and will remove most bolts, however if you can across a heavily rusted bolt it may not do the job. I've used it to remove 300nm axle nuts and it's done that very well. If you just want to use it occasionally I think it's very much up to the task. I've got quite a few ryobi bits now and am very happy with all of them. Bear in mind that Amazon had the bundle you linked for only £100 in last prime day sale, may be worth waiting on a good deal then buying.
  2. I'm not worried about the rears currently. At the moment I have only had a front wheel alignment done, and that's all they charged me for. However they've not done something right as the steering wheel is now off centre. If I straighten the wheel I go left. In my eyesI have given them the opportunity to put this right by turning up today to get it fixed, however they have gone to the Nurburgring for the week (despite me booking this time-slot over the phone on the 23rd), meaning to get the wheel sorted I will have to wait another week+ Based on that do you think they should keep my money and I wait another week or more, or does it sound fair to ask for my money back to take the car elsewhere? Thanks
  3. Just gone back to the garage to get them to sort out the tracking again and its closed, although they told me to get here for 10 today. Looking on their Facebook page they're in Germany... Is it fair to ask for a refund for my tracking, as it's still not sorted properly and I don't want to leave it another week so will now have to go elsewhere?
  4. Yes we will definitely be honest, but don't want to put our foot in it by wording something incorrectly either. The car was parked out front as I've got a Vauxhall Insignia in the drive which I'm doing abit of engine work on, plus my Zed in the drive. There is enough space just about for 3 cars but we had parked it out front as it was just easier that day so I can move the motorbikes in and out of the drive freely.
  5. Someone hit my girlfriend's Alfa 147 last night while it was parked outside our house, parked off the road completely on a grass verge, but right next to the curb. They drove off and didn't leave any details, and there's no CCTV. It's probably a write off as the bonnet, front quarter panel & passenger side door all have minor damage + the windscreens smashed. The car is worth about £1.5-2k, she was hoping to sell it next month as well. Her insurance shows we stated the car would be parked on the drive overnight, will they now not pay out as the car was parked in the wrong place? Theywould have covered her for road parking, in fact just checking it would have been even cheaper than stating she parked on the drive! It's normally parked on the drive, but we had an extra car there this week so it has been parked out front for a few days. Never had to deal with insurance before, so hopefully someone here can weigh in with some advice. Thank you.
  6. Just checked and tyre pressures are all good - 35 all round apart from rear right which was 36.5 - which wouldn't have any effect.
  7. Can you record yours? I'll do my best to record mine as well later today I'm sure @Scarabrae mentioned this to me before on his 370z, saying it sounded like a supercharger whine. I started mine up for him and we agreed it was just engine noise as it was the same thing. Maybe someone who knows a bit more about the cars can weigh in if it's normal or not.
  8. I thought this was just a normal Zed noise - just from the engine? I've heard it in 370's as well.
  9. Just after a quick bit of advice if anyone can help I've just taken the car for the first proper drive since the alignment, and it feels terrible. The steering feels very light and vague, I don't have any confidence in pushing the car around a tight corner, it's hard to explain but it definitely doesn't feel right. The alignment specs I've posted above appear to be okay, so what is now causing this? In the last month, I've fitted 4 x MPS4's, Tein lowering springs (which should increase handling), and now got an alignment. If anything the car should feel much better than it used to? Could the wheel being off centre cause the steering issues? The car still seems to track straight, so I really don't know. Any help would be greatly appreciated before I take the car back to the garage next Saturday.
  10. Yeah I can see the OEM specifications in the middle column, I was just replying to @G1en@waxandshine's comment about positive camber being a poor OEM spec.
  11. Just thinking about it, if there's no camber adjustment on the front, and the rear camber/toe bolt was stuck, I've just paid £75 for them to minutely adjust my front toe? That seems very excessive doesn't it?
  12. So to make the car drive as well as possible, while also trying to reduce tyre wear, what would be the recommended front camber setting?
  13. Took it to the garage today - not too impressed with them as the steering wheel is now off centre. The guy also seemed a bit off, I won't be going there again (apart from when I go back to get the tracking re done because they did a crap job...) Anyway, he's also said that he couldn't adjust the rear toe or camber as the bolts are completely stuck. The camber is almost in spec so it's not a huge deal right now, but does anyone know what parts I need to replace to get this sorted in the hopefully distant future? He reckons I'd probably need to cut the old bolts off
  14. Do you want aftermarket or OEM? I've got an old OEM Y Pipe from my HR in the garage that I have no need for (I think it should fit a DE after a quick bit of googling). You can have it for free if you want it? It's probably got about 80,000 miles on it and doesn't look that great, but if you just need one that doesn't leak it should do the job.
  15. Thanks - I do like those sidelights you've got as well, they looked pretty great when you were behind me.
  16. Yeah definitely - I'll see if he doesn't mind taking a few photos as he goes, then post up on the forum with his company details if hes happy for me to. Whens the next Yarmouth meet? Tomorrow? I'll see if I can make it down
  17. My thoughts exactly - he really seemed to know his stuff though. Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly. He showed me round his workshop and some of the cars he works on were pretty expensive - old Aston Martins etc. - so I feel like I'm in safe hands.
  18. Got it thanks, looks like there's 2 different S Tech models - SKP24-AVB00 = 17/14mm drop SKP26-AUB00 = 38mm drop I've ordered the 17/14mm from Demon Tweeks - thanks all for the help & recommendations
  19. Sorry Alex I think I'm getting a bit confused now. We're talking about Tein SKP26-AUB00 S.Tech right? Horsham - 1.5" drop per their website Torqen showed the drop as 0.7" F/0.5" R until I contacted them 20 mins ago on live chat and they said the description is incorrect and they are actually 1.5" drop = 38mm. Direct from Tein on ebay - 1.5" drop Am I looking at the wrong springs, or are they all wrong about the drop? If you're sure they are 17/14 I'll buy them - just a bit unsure now. Thanks for the help
  20. I've just checked with Torqen, and the Tein S Springs aren't a 17/14mm drop, they've confirmed it's actually 1.5" = 37.5mm. They've also advised that if you go lower than 25mm you'll need new camber arms. Did either @coldel @Payco have to get the new arms? Thanks
  21. I've been round to a few different places so far, got a few quotes starting at £600 + VAT, from reputable body shops but I didn't get the feeling they knew what they were doing. Today I got in touch with a local classic car restorer who also does a bit of work on newer cars as well - obviously working with classics he knows how to deal with rust. He seemed like a really nice guy who clearly knows what he's doing, showing me where he needs to cut and weld in new metal etc. Best part is he's quoted £250 - 300 for it, including waxoyling the other side as a preventative measure. The cars booked in for the first week of September, and once the jobs done I'll post up on here with some photos and details of the company if anyone else in Norfolk wants to use them.
