Completely feel you! Been looking for my Nismo for a couple of years. Must of seen nearly every exhaust video on youtube lol Ive got a mk1 so can't help but I know @ShortPaul has the greddy on his mk2 and also someone else who had the injen system on their mk2. Ive heard both these systems in person with stock cats they sounds incredible, deep tone with no rasp like you were explaining.

Wow nearly a year since my last update! Pulled my car out of storage at the beginning of March, very blessed to have a customer who let me keep my car in his garage for 4 months over the winter. They live about an hour from me so didn't get to see it at all during that period so its always nice when you get back in it, start appreciating all the little details again. I find the best way to get bored of a car is to daily drive it, I'm grateful this isn't my daily! All taxed ready to drive, I bought 6 months as couldn't stomach the £600+ or whatever it is now for a full year. I had the Z1 Air Intakes sitting for a while and never got round to fitting them before I took the car off the road. So me and a friend decided to go ahead and fit them. A simple job you would think but as mentioned before I needed to remove the oil cooler to be able to fit the intakes as the oil cooler bracket was fixed to the crash bar where the filters sit. After some debate we thought it would be better just to relocate the oil cooler, so we got a neighbour who does custom turbo bikes to do us a custom bracket so the oil cooler can sit below the crash bar. Came out well but the heavy duty stainless steel lines were nearly impossible to relocate so decided to ship the car down to Horsham for them to figure out and also carry out a service. As always Jez and the team were very accommodating and sorted everything out no problem. Spotted by @V1H who was down there getting his new cats fitted. Sure do look good together, managed to catch up at the Torqen meet later on in the year. I think I've only done about 5k miles this year so far, definitely been about quality not quantity this year. Me and @Killick.z enjoyed North Wales so much last year we wanted to do another road trip but bigger this time round. Originally was looking at the NC500 but we agreed Scotland was missions and we both would like to do Wales again. So we planned a 4 day road trip from North to South. Car prepped ready to go! Also managed to swap my wheel nuts out for some new ones from Z1, no more rusty locking wheel nut! Wheel area now complete! 2022 Wales Road Trip. Cannot even begin to tell you how good this was, we spent two days North then two days South. We had a mixture of sunshine and rain, the roads were quite for the most part and our cars did not skip a beat. I didn't think I could fall in love with my car even more then I already was but this road trip did just that. What a highlight to the year. Just under 1000 miles covered and 25 hours of driving... Just awesome 😎 Caffeine and Machine on the way home, Monday afternoon and there was still some tasty cars around, weather was perfect, just a perfect way to end an amazing road trip! Only attended a few meets this year, not really about static meets but is always some acceptions. Torqen Summer Meet, great to catch up with Adrian, Coz and the team and some other car friends! Me and @ShortPaul comparing v1 and v2 differences! Simply Japanese at National Motor Museum, Beaulieu with the forum. Have never been to this neck of the woods before and always been told its a beautiful location so went down the night before and stayed in Southampton. Great to put some cars to faces and meet everyone! It was a great day! So, the big talking point for the v1 is always the seats, no Recaro CS's like in the v2. A lot of people get the Juke Nismo CS's for the v1 but if I'm honest I've never like the CS in general when it comes to comfortability. They look awesome but I think they are over priced and not as comfortable as my current seats. Anyway last year I was a passenger to my friend in his track E46 M3 and we drove to the Nurburgring, he had Recaro pole positions and I honestly couldn't believe how comfortable they were after sitting in them for 9 hours. So decided to go with them, I have not seen anyone put pole positions in a Nismo yet so I like the idea that it is different but looks OEM at the same time. Managed to order them in the perfect Nismo spec similar to the v2 CS's. Black Leather with Red Alcantara inserts. I went for the Buddy Club rails as they have the all important seat belt relocation hole. Absolutely over the moon with them and can't wait to fit them in the coming weeks!!!!!

I would never ever go to a main dealer. Go to a local specialist. If they haven't delt with z cars before communicate which oil ect to use, buy your own if you needs be.

Good decision to take the alloy gators off, made the car look cheap. These cars have a very specific buying audience so you gotta be patient with the sale. Please don't continue to drop the price as time goes on I can assure you someone who's in the market for a mk1 Nismo isn't going to look at yours and think ahhhh well I would of gone for that one if it was a few hundred quid cheaper. Plus there is never many for sale so market is set by the sellers history to an extent so will devalue the mk1. Anyway GLWTS!

I've actually been researching into this topic for the last 2-3 years. First of all exhaust sounds are like exterior looks, it comes down to your ear and what you think sounds good. Some people love a single exit straight piped and the others a stock system all comes down to personal preference. But in this instance you sound like your looking for something similar to me so I think my input might be of help. First of all I had a 350z and it came with an awful cheap Japspeed K4 system, which was 'tinny' and 'droney' so bought an Invidia Cat-back system and I was so pleased with it, stock sounding under 4k revs then a nice deep sporty sound when you open it up. I then had a completely stock system on my next 350z which I really enjoyed as I could hear more engine and intake noise which gave a more muscle car acoustic to the cabin. I now have a Mk1 370z Nismo and like you had short tails on which sounded okay but were just cheap with a bad rasp top end. One thing to state is the 350z do sound different to the 370z and the exhaust systems clarify that. I've now switched back to the HKS Nismo system that was standard with the car new. Loving it so far but do want something with more noise further on down the line hence me watching nearly every single Youtube video for every exhaust system for 370z. I'll just list a few of the popular ones. Invidia Gemini - Probably the best value for money, never heard anyone who was disappointed with this system. Stock sounding low down with deep tone up top. Also exhaust prices on most other systems seemed to have increased by quite a bit which makes the Invidia even more appealing. Injen system - An awesome sounding exhaust with beautiful tips, again not too loud but has a really nice tone. Greddy - similar to Injen, top quality as expected Ark Grip - One of the best but also expensive, the design of the resonators and how they sit are absolutely stunning Motordyne - IMO the absolutely daddy, best looking, quality and sound but also very expensive

Yup there is a couple of youtube videos of people fitting them to 350z's. The one where they use Buddy Club seat rails look like they gave a really good seating position. None on a 370z but I wouldn't of thought they could be that different.

Has anyone fitted pole positions to their 370z or know anyone who has?

Wheels are loooooking gooood! It is crazy how low the exhaust sits, I've had a few people comment who have followed me in my Z. HKS or Greddy both sound as good as the ARK from sound clips, not sure how they do on ground clearance.

Thanks for the kind words, yea its a shame your not closer! I bought them from Nengun, all in including import fee's and shipping they cost about £300.

A few updates and a one year ownership review. Happy new year everyone thats reading! Santa came through with some Nismo goodies, floor mats, oil cap, fuel cap and oil drain plug I also had my Nismo red accent stripes replaced and roof re wrapped. The Nismo striping were in bad shape and the roof wrap wasn't the best (done by the previous owner) so wanted it refreshed. First up the Nismo striping, now the obvious thing to do was to buy the genuine stickers but after looking I decided against this..as per with anything Nismo the prices were outrageous plus they no longer make the front one. Back one was $250 and the wing mirrors were $88 each! So I got in contact with Mikey from MKS Customs who does all the wrapping/vinyl stuff for my customers. He was certain he could get a good colour match to the Magma Red and get the dimensions OEM like. So I went ahead and bought the OEM wing mirror stickers from Z1 so Mikey had reference to the real thing. I think he done a great job and saved me huge amounts of money. OEM: Before and after: Had Mikey order in some Inzotek wrap from the States for the roof, anyone in the industry who is familiar knows that Inzotek film is the most paint like finish vinyl there is and do some absolutely amazing colours. Haven't had a chance to polish and take photos yet but the finish is unbelievable and looks exactly like paint, the gloss and smoothness is incredible. (Roof done in Gloss Black) Finally fitted new centre caps after coating them. Only replaced 2 out of 4 as the others were okay, after a quick polish and touch up they were as good as the new ones. As for the other crap I have no idea what one of the previous owners were thinking. Quick wash and QD and car is now ready to be put away for the winter. My garage at the new house is still filled with building materials so car will be taking residence at one of my good customers house. All tucked away until Spring time So I've owned my car for just over a year now, 4,300 miles covered, 700 of those over 3 days in North Wales w/ @Killick.z Honestly its been everything I dreamed of and more, every single time I drive this car I have a smile on my face and often when I'm cruising, listening to some great music I have a real sense of gratitude for the car and all things in this crazy, beautiful, mad thing we call life. The performance of the car is all I need to satisfy me on public roads, a great balance between comfort and performance, a wonderful grand tourer with individuality and race car traits. I personally get a lot from driver engagement and the character of a car which the 370z has bags of. N/A, RWD with Manual gearbox will always be a winner for me. Aesthetically I genuinely think the Mk1 Nismo is one of the most beautiful cars out there, obviously I'm bias as I have an emotional connection with the car but I work and spend intricate time with some of the best cars in the world and It never takes away my appreciation of the stance and silhouette of my car. Absolutely love cleaning/working on it and every single time I park up I find myself looking back at the car in awe. The specialness that is the Mk1 Nismo , in the rarity and looks will always justify my choice in where maybe other cars trump it on performance. North Wales road trip was the highlight of the year for me, really got to put the car through its paces from fast pace B roads to motorway cruising in all weather conditions. 700 miles in 3 days and the car didn't skip a beat, just made me love the car even more then I already did!

Not sure, maybe to save money? From the design of the v2 it certainly looks like they were trying to extend beyond the v1 customer base to sell more cars.

@Olly350z couldn't of said it better myself. I also came from 350z to 370z Nismo. For the extra 10k you get more then 10k worth of stuff over a standard 370. Well worth it imo

The colour coded ones your thinking about are the very first mk1's that were between 2009-2013 which included the silver v1 Nismo wheels. Then when Europe got the Nismo for the first time in 2013-2015. Nissan had then updated the mk1 with the gun metallic v1 wheels with contrasting bodykit along with the red brake calipers, magma red pin stripe decals and Nismo badge with the m-red O. In terms of numbering they are numbered to regional market (Europe, Asia, ect.) Hence why yours @reeceybeaneyis #210 and there is only 122 mk1's in the UK. Also Asian market Nismo's have the Fairlady Z badge instead of the 370z and its also on the numbered plaque. (Pretty cool!) In the American market they numbered them by each year of manufacturing. (All stuff I've just mentioned has been researched because I'm sad haha)
