  1. Any colour except blue in my opinion, but if I must decide I vote yellow (if they come in yellow)
  2. I can't remember exactly on the zed but... Red and yellow are usually the ignition live and permanent live. On my wiring harness at the back of the head unit the red plugs into the red and yellow into the yellow (usually on bullet style connectors so they can be changed). May vary from head unit to head unit and sometimes need swapping round (red to yellow etc). See if you can actually power the stereo on without ignition being on. This is an indication that the radio is permanently getting power. It should only be able to power on when the key is turned. I threw a head unit into mine and connected it with the generic bose aftermarket harness, and had the same issue with battery drain. The only thing I missed was an extra earth wire on the wiring harness I had not connected. This turned out to be what was causing the drain and I earthed it to a metal bracket where the front panel screws to. I would hope that it would be clear to see what's out of place when you remove the stereo though..
  3. I have seen this same story told on 2 other forums I have been a part of over the years. Funny reading though
  4. I will consult YouTube about this and try learn a bit more
  5. It's the stereotypical noise that I'm not a fan of to be honest. I don't know anything about subaru but to me it doesn't matter if it's 200bhp or 500 it sounds exactly the same. Is that just me?
  6. Some people have what it takes to drive and maintain an evo, some have to settle for a subaru hahaha
  7. Don't let Honda nuts hear you say that haha they would lose their minds. The engine in the s2k is an amazing piece of engineering. Not 10k for an old motor amazing, but still very good. I think the Honda guys should realise that no matter how much they want their cars to be cult legends, they won't be. Supra, skyline... civic? Don't think that works.
  8. My mate sold his 55 plate premier for 4600 I believe it was only a few months ago. Standard. People want a fortune for theirs if they've got the job typical scene brand parts like tegiwa dc sports etc. The premier edition is just a face-lift with leftover jdm parts shipped over to be used up rather than wasted haha.
  9. Knowing this makes me happy
  10. Can you explain a bit more? I've never sat in a HR. Do the interior plastics look better? More durable? Does the centre console scratch for fun like mine?
  11. I bought a DE for the tax and then got a bulged bonnet. At the time I didn't know of the interior changes in the HR.
  12. Maybe so to be honest, but most of it was down to a dishonest seller. Personally it wouldn't matter to me about how much I paid because I still got a very healthy motor once I got to work on it. I was very lucky to have sold my civic before the prices literally became pocket change. Now I wouldn't have an ep3 again because they seem to hold the image of and old beaten dog.
  13. HR starts off with a bit more power and needs a little less to make extra power n/a. Am I right in saying the HR doesn't require a plenum spacer if going for a remap? For me the DE is a good engine, good torque and reasonable power. Revup is even better but oil burning is the only downside (and not a big downside if you have the gift of sight and can check a dipstick occasionally). For me it came down to tax and up to March 2006 they're on the old tax so a fair bit cheaper. Might I add that the extra cupholders in the newer model makes me insanely jealous.
  14. Thanks I think. I thought it might be a good topic of conversation. It seems that the gap between good examples and rough examples is getting bigger. The rough getting lower and lower dragging the general price down. It happened with ep3 type r's. They held a steady 3-4k for a fair few years (for a face-lift at least), and then out of nowhere lots of high mileage rough examples came up and now the average price is a lot less. Saw one or two go for 2k and the prefacelifts even less.
  15. Do you have an aftermarket stereo in there? The first time I put one in I wired it incorrectly and didn't earth the adaptor properly. This caused a constant live to the head unit I didn't know about and it would run the battery down overnight
  16. What a read that was! Says it all really.
  17. The reviews posted above are just from people upset that they don't do test drives by the way are there any of people who have actually bought a car?
  18. Thanks for the advice there. It's not so much the money I will lose, but more along the lines of I've spent that much on it I may aswell enjoy it for a year or 2 more. At least until I've forgotten about what I've spent on it haha.
  19. They sound awesome and I would do whatever they ask. No but seriously I wouldn't go near. They might as well be saying you can't look at it in person until you've bought it. Will they take you out in it instead? Would that be enough? Ask if they will allow the AA to do an independent inspection? The line may go dead pretty quickly.
  20. I'd be out of pocket because I got stung by a dishonest seller. The car needed so much work doing to it when I got it. The rear arches were the biggest issue that had been covered up extremely well. Within a month of having the car it was in the bodyshop 1300quid later to have the arches done properly. Wheels had cracks I couldn't see until I took it for new tyres. Stereo stopped working on the first night I took it out for a drive. Engine management light then came on in the first week for sensors that needed changing. Long story short I spent a lot on the car in the first months of owning her. That's why I feel I would be losing out if I sold it. To be truthful it's spending all that cash and knowing the car is the best it can be now that's got me keeping it for the time being.
  21. That's a fair point. I've been considering selling mine off and on over the past year and so have been looking through what's around and especially cars that have the same modifications/extras.
  22. This new civic is trying too damn hard!! The ek9 was great, the ep3 was good, the fn2 was the same engine just a different body... But the new type r is not all its supposed to be. The type r was always understated, simple and yet brilliantly engineered and able to nip at the heels of cars that should have wiped the floor with a civic. The new one is not like that at all. Didn't they pit the newer type r against the equivalent focus and the focus whooped it in every aspect, including the price????
  23. I think the jdm's are generally cheaper as they don't have a lot of the extras the uk gt versions does. The time of year isn't helping as all this horrible weather is off putting for people considering a 2 seat roadster/sports car
