  1. I looked into this at one point, and was told to have a look into them. I opted for standard arches in the end, but they can be done. The old needs removing and the siebon arches will need to be put on with adhesive and/or riveted on. They can be painted. They are a **** to work with but it can be done by a bodyshop that have worked with carbon before. The arches are good as the seams are under the boot lid where they can't be seen very well. The only issue you would have is where the inner arch meets the outer. Again this can be sorted and sealed up by someone who knows what they are doing.
  2. Looks like the car charger for my sagem mobile phone I had 15 years ago..
  3. Ah many of my drives when I was younger ended up in Grassington or over that way past Skipton I remember the first time I went out of Grassington, where that bridge is with the hump in it. Needless to say I saw the steep hill at the other side and accelerated early and got the shock of my life when it felt like all four wheels left the ground.
  4. Get it fitted. They sometimes need adjusting so give it a chance. On the video there doesn't seem to be any noises when he's idling I was trying to watch closely.
  5. Ps I was actually doing the speed limit.. The car was low and the road had speed bumps.
  6. I had something similar a few years ago. Driving down a road in my first civic type r, when an old lady just pulled out directly in front of me. I hit the brakes and pulled to the left but had no chance (only a 30mph road). I hit her back end and then into the tree directly behind where she pulled out from. She began shouting and holding her neck, so I called the police. Lucky for me it turned out to be a sergeant sitting in with a new traffic officer for the day. He assessed the damage, looked at the position of the cars and immediately knew who was at fault and who was to blame. Even wrote an incident report for the insurers to request from them later. He also told me point blank that: 1. My speed was irrelevant and couldn't be proven in court (without a full investigation if there had been serious injury or fatality) 2. It doesn't matter if I was indicating 3. It doesn't matter if I flashed 4. All that matters is that I had the right of way, and she obstructed it causing the accident. END OF. She carried on that badly that she was cautioned and told that if she continued she would be charged with driving without due care and attention..
  7. On the same note.. Have a look at these bits I found on them: http://forums.nicoclub.com/engine-damper-installed-wow-t332995.html
  8. It was the actual dampener vibrating against its own mounts that was causing the issue and it transferred it through the entire car, especially the steering wheel. However, the civic was light and tinny and that could have made it worse. It might not be a big issue with the heavier better built zed.
  9. I had one for a brief period on my ep3. Was running a fair bit of power. If I'm being honest the car did seem to be a bit snappier when going back on the throttle after changin gear, but only slightly. The metallic vibration was horrible (worse than stiffened mounts I'd say) especially at idle so it had to go!
  10. Also if your set on a 06 onwards the only tiny negative is some people report oil usage as a niggle. Not a major issue but something to think on. People with HR engines swear they are worth the money. For me the extra tax is a no. You can find the revup's just before the tax change if your lucky though, Best of both worlds.
  11. Welcome along! I would do what's been mentioned above and look for the best example you can find. Good service history etc.. A remap is only a few hundred pounds in the end so don't miss out on a mint example because you want the extra bit of power, because a few hours on a dyno and that's sorted!
  12. Bump, Open to serious offers for the car as is. £100 gift to any member who puts the buyer onto the car. Alternatively I will be looking to replace brakes and w brace before listing on pistonheads and/or autotrader. Thanks very much.
  13. Ps. I tried ebay to sell mine winter time.. Was on 5 days, 1500 or so views and a long list of the most stupid questions or offers you could imagine. It ruined my life trying to get through them all so I decided to take the ad down. Seriously.. Questions like is it bad on insurance! And will you take 3k cash today etc
  14. Pistonheads for me is the seriously modified cars or rarer cars place to search. I tend to start with autotrader to get a feel for the price range the cars are in, as some on eBay are either stupidly overpriced or really cheap indicating issues. Autotrader have brought in a new feature that shows if the car is at a good price based on market value which draws attention if you price the car right
  15. I tend to browse autotrader and eBay equally as much. More often than not I see a motor on autotrader, and then spot they same advert on eBay as the seller has used both. Just goes to show that people will be browsing both. A big one for eBay is to pay for a proper 'classified ad', looks a bit more serious than a buy it now advert. Personally I would try the cheaper options first and in that order... Ebay Piston heads (if modified or an enthusiasts type of car like the nismo) Autotrader finally
  16. Currently between houses in bradford and Wakefield so can be in either area for viewing. Open to serious offers
  17. I was brought here by a slightly misleading topic title. Well played sir. Well played indeed.
  18. I'm no nitrous expert, but I ran it on my ep3. Wizards of nos are the guys to speak to. Sounds like your application needs expert advice. Message them. Or they have their own forum you should jump on there for information.
  19. In short its only a cheap piece of kit. And as said before some cars have a sports button from factory that does the same thing. I like gadgets and extra buttons, the more the better. On a plus note it has several economy settings that make the throttle ridiculously lazy. A big benefit for the de engines if it's going for a service etc.. And you don't want the lads driving it too harshly. The later models can have a switchable map but that will be fine for me and a little piece of mind if you hide the controller from sight.
  20. Well yeah It was either something like that, or I was going to get one of those electric superchargers that you wire up and plumb in behind the air filter. They too are only £29.99, but I thought that it may be more power than the motor can handle??
  21. Im not sure, but I read about that and that lead me to the throttle controller. I'm not 100percent sure if the controller overrides the restriction in the lower gears or if it can only be done by a remap.
  22. It's only 90quid or so, even less if you pick one up second hand. In terms of performance it adds zero bhp and zero torque, but it does make the throttle more sensitive. Call it the illusion of more power, either way you can feel the difference and it makes the car feel a little lighter on its feet. For me that's worth it all day long. Everyone's different so not everyone's going to agree on them I guess. On that note I'm going to order one of them performance chips off ebay that give 40% more power!! Only £29.99!!!!!
  23. The side effect of the throttle controller is that you feel you must go online and push them onto people that dont have them yet. Just do it..
  24. That won't work, the throttle controller appears to have magical properties that cannot be detected by such instruments. Buy one, fit it, use it and say thank you.
  25. I thought the same mate, believe me. I was gearing up to sell the car and thought 'I always wanted to try one so its now or never'... so I did. It's worth every penny I promise!!! If the car ends up selling without it I will give you it to prove my point! Haha
