Couldn't agree more. The Nismo still pips it. What will be interesting is to see what the new Z in Nismo form looks like. But that's probably looking around mid-2023 The yellow is on the new one would be a bit divisive. I think having it in black or a darker colour would kind of negate the retro effect they were trying to pull off at the cars rear. White might look good though

Seen a couple of the old ones (although they are not that old!) on the road - easily mistaken for a Prius to the casual New one looks q different in a nice way. That colour and wheels though Could have done with sleeker mirrors or even cameras to really set it off from the side

Dare I say this but I'm starting to like the new Z and even the colour. The pearl yellow works as the design is more understated and brings out the dark rims. The rear is nice touch and stands out. Still need to see more close ups from the front. Wonder who will import to UK as those making the move won't even get to see one in real life

Was browsing the web and came across this - one of the Sultan's 90s supercars up for sale recently. I can understand if this does nothing for the younger guys on here but thought I would share as the photos show something that really represents the 90s and a time when you had independent offshoots making low volume supercars only to go bust shortly after. Another stab to the chest is that highly sophisticated GPS connected to cars will make illegal or dodgy a parking a thing of the past (or a fine in the post I mean automatically deducted from your bank account) as the cars journeys incl where they are parked would be logged and cross referenced to the road network. This wont happen overnight but I think from 2040/45 this will be inevitable

decent wheels also. subtle lines on the door and door handle a nice touch also. Think its a case of pretending this isnt an option as it really is a good deal from a thinkning with the head point of view

Potentially somewhat exotic cars the like the Alfa giulia quadrifoglio/gta, facelifted Lexus RCF, LC could suffer huge depreciation as a result of an accelerated shift to EV esp with where we are now. I can see R8s heading this way I think that how these EV cars will eventually work eventually is that they will "switch" to self-driving mode once they come within a smart city or when an urban area gets congested. The technology will allow computers to figure out how many cars on the roads and exact speed they, travelling at etc and in turn ensure the self-driving cars give way to one another. I think that normal driving would mean travelling out of smart areas (which would incur a toll). There well be a (financial) incentive for drivers to leave the car in self-driving mode as opposed to sport/track/normal drive.

Looking on autotrader and came upon these. Dont know too much about Vauxhalls tbh but is it me but could this be the best bang for your buck low miler second hand purchase car on the market atm? £14k buys you a low ish miles car that is nearly half list price. 270hp, brembos, 2 door, faster 0-60 then the Scirocco R which are late teens low mileage facelift. A genuine hot hatch quicker then Kia Proceeds, Hyundai I30 Turbo (last gen) Am I missing the catch if there is one?

I think it was mentioned in another thread but the years of being a petrol head are p much numbered. Can even argue that the 90s supercars had something that the modern ones don't. On a more attainable level, I think there will be a last opportunity to own something enjoyably silly from 2022-2026 - I can see some big petrol cars just dropping like mad and there is potential to own something special before we all have to accept the shift towards EV

This is roughly the road ahead Stage 1: Phasing out of Diesel [2010-present] Step 2: Phasing in hybrid, phasing out NA Petrol era i.e. forced induction engines over NA + above [2015-present] Step 3: Phasing In electric + above [2020-2025] Step 4: EV push continues + £charging then banning petrol/diesel/hybrids [2025-2030] Step 5*: Autonmous vehicles phased in + EV [2030-2035] Step 6*: Fully Autonomous [2040+] *6G will be able to provide a fast enough infrastructure to make self driving vehicles communicate with one another and operate. By 2040 I think society will have changed to the extent that we may have smart cities that people don't really venture out of much so this may provide less of a reason to drive out of region. Hard to predict. Imagine asking someone from 1980 what life would be like in 2000. They would envisage prob the role of the computer but many wouldnt know the repercussions of mobiles, internet etc

So a 2021 release or more likely 2022/2023? Awfully long wait for what is essentially a revision of the 370z with the Q60s engine I am starting to like the styling more however. The front as mentioned has more to it then just a big black gaping square cut out. Looks nice but not nice enough to make my blood boil that it isnt coming over here! Unless the Nismo version looks the part I'm guessing in 2025!

Hypothetically one is therefore looking at spending £37-40k in the year 2023 say for importing this. Wouldnt that be GTR, Cayman GT4, F type SVR money by that time?

Agree but a mans car at least unlike the (unisexual) TT ! Put the new Z on par with the Alpine A110 for looks. Has nice cues but nothing to shout about Ironic thing is as mentioned, the bright yellow does conceal certain creases and bulging in the bodywork. Also this design being more understated is what would have appealed to Europeans more as opposed to the US guys who like their sports cars with more beef and attitude. I do like those rims though. Grey with a goldish sparkle? They are exact size to the 370z Nismos. Think it would look better on a Black Nismo though

It does have some appealing elements and touches (pearl yellow paint, rear arches etc. But bear in mind anything new will have that to some degree. I still dont think its visually more appealing then the 370z Nismo Mk2 (which imo was the peak for the Z35 stylistically). I also think the pre-facelifted F type is better looking and remember that was also in convertible. I agree with one of the guys when he concludes that its a good looking machine but not drop dead georgous. I just dont think it has any particular feature to it that makes it stand out (the 370z had the muscular arches, 4c from the front and side). Its not hard to be better looking then a Supra

bonus points for the shark fin aerial too wonder if the spoiler would look better with the sides of it painted body colour though... or with an N decal on it

Apologies to slightly hijack this but another good looking supermini from Korea. I do think small hatchbacks can get away with quirky colours tbh - fiesta ST edition in blue, new orange Toyota aygo. The blue works for me with the N. Will be interesrting to see options available, The i30 has the N Performance so presumably there will be an i20N Performance spec?

I'm glad someone posted this as I feel p much the same. From the front it looks really good imo better then the i30n incl the new facelift The baby blue works really well imo esp with red accents. Having an angular/sharp design for a car in this segment is actually a very good idea since it looks more masculine compared to most cars in the class: 595, 1st gen A1, Polo, Mini (get flamed for this I know!), Adam etc Rear I am not too sure about but it matches the rest of the car at least. Like the wheels although I think diamond cut ones would have looked a bit better. Would def prefer a 1.6 4cyl over the 1.4 3cyl found in the Fiesta ST in part due to potential reliability issues Any ideas of what's going on with the new Polo GTI which has been scrapped due to the 2.0 engine not meeting emissions standards? These are next to new same price as this

Hear me out first lol... The reasoning behind this being instead of buying something impractical as a next car why not buy the bland all rounder that is a Golf R 7.5 and have it resprayed something like Viper Green (Sciroccco, Golf R Final Edition from overseas), Lizard Green (Porsche), Kayalami Green (TT, RSQ3) etc - basically a colour that not only makes it look more sporty but also has somewhat of a niche demand (like 911 Miami Blue, Mustang Grabber Blue, RS Nitrous Blue etc) in order to facilitate a re-sale later down the road* First off, I think the R esp the 7.5 works really well in brighter colour due to its simplistic design. As mentioned Viper Green has somewhat of a cult following and there will be continued demand for the prev gen R esp with the divisive nature of the 8. I did consider the prev Leon 290/300, Golf GTI, Audi S1/A1 180 but I think those cars just would be a waste of a respray both stylistically and as they don't have the same current/future following (although worth mentioning the outlay would be less) Now if one was going to go down this road what would it be. I'm looking at 2017 model years DSG. Unsure whether it's better to go for a 5 door on this or 3 door esp with this colour? The thing is these cars are still £22k mark low miles. Plus a respray (£3k ??>) means that the car would add up to £25k ish which is still a fair bit. I still think it would be more desirable, undercut and a better all rounder then the Megane RS Trophy, Focus RS, forthcoming I30n facelift in the auto *Regarding this I'm obviously thinking that dealers, webuyanycar etc won't see the added value of a respray (but just go on the year, mileage etc) so a future sale would prob need to be done privately

The new Z is growing on me I must admit. Not sure if it is worth £45-50k though. Isnt that good spec Evora 400 , Alfa 4C money, Lexus LC500 money? I think things happen for a reason to an extent and looking at the wider picture across the country the the tide is making it more difficult to justify buying a sports car with the increased congestion in part due to the whole green movement (building of new new cycle lanes, widened pavements, electric charging points and ULEZ etc). I have my eyes on warm hatches as I've mentioned in particular the Infiniti Q30 2.0 which undercut all the competition in terms of being a 2 litre turbo with AWD and low miles. If one crops up in that light champagne brown colour I will be tempted as effectively the model range will not look as dated as it wont be superceded with Infiniti pulling out the EU market. Also I do like the Swift Sport in yellow as a cheap fun supermini that's reliable/more practical and not as common as 595s, Fiestas, Polos etc I know the Astra GTC and 308GTI are excellent value also but I cant get passed the badge/looks

Kia cant argue with that in terms of them offering value for money and reliability. I had a 1.6 Ceed 1st gen which effectively was the car that broke them into the UK market in terms of becoming a household name. (Side note: shame Infiniti never had that in the Q30 and the Q60 wasnt even marketed. The G35 was a grey import no?). I've been tempted by 2017 Gen 2 Proceeds which have the 1.6 turbo warm hatch - read that it drinks as much as a 2.0 turbo Golf but it isnt a stressed out engine and should be a reliable runaround. Ive heard that the C8 makes the C7 looks small. I don't think it looks right tbh although I do dig the front end/lights more. Again going back to the panel gap issue this is meant to suffer q badly it seems from US feedback. One thing to look out for on the C7s is the cylinder de-activation tech which apparently can cause stress on the engine and potential reliability issues. Couple of mint C6 ZR1s on autotrader going for £65 & £75 . I believe that the C6 is last classic Corvette stylistically - just cant comprehend why the grandsports and z06s are £10-15k more then base C6s I have still been a bit bummed about the Z proto tbh. Toyotas sports car offerings do absolutely nothing for me. See myself in a warm hatch, super mini next and perhaps a final sports car after that when I hit 40 in 4 years depending on how life unfolds
