  1. It will be interesting to see what the launch colour will be given the retro styling. I think green or orange would be a bit risky despite the retro connotations so it will be in storm white. You never no though. I highly doubt it will be black . Would also love to see the size comparison with the 370z With regard to the 350z vs 370z imo I like the classic lines of the 350z and it not being too fussy. However the 370z has that more muscular, compact look esp around the rear fenders that give it presence much like the M2. There clearly was no Juke when the 350z came out so this may explain the boomerang light crossing over between the Juke and 370z
  2. Must admit it's a bit of a weird marketing strategy. Usually there would be some teaser image on social media in the week leading up to yesterday similar to how Kia (stinger) , Hyundai (i30 facelift), Ford (Puma MK2) etc Re foreign markets that's a good point esp since the promo video released excludes the European Juke in the line up and Micra (to be discontinued?) so one can view this as being targeted to the more global markets. Presumably there is no GTR from next year? Also having watched the video again you can make out the rear lights - it looks like the 240z
  3. Prob be limited colour choices, no roadster and just the single GT trim. I don't think they will bother having a launch edition or do any fanfare like the Supra and that website sign up mallarky lol
  4. Well it had to happen eventually as I speculated previously. I think the rumour mill threads were fun despite there being a bit of controversy amongst certain members. Let's hope it looks and performs the part.
  5. Yes whoever replacing Ghosn will want to be seen as making an impact esp with pandemic. I've heard Nissan's sale vision is 33% US Sales, 33% Chinese and 33% rest of the world. They might abruptly scrap the 370z like when they wound down infiniti here and stopped the 370z Roadster. In the US any scaling back of product range will have to be done more delicately since they want to remain a strong presence there. There is a rumour that once the Z/GTR are officially terminated later this month, it will pave the way for the new gens being brought to market a couple of years down the line. Let's see how Nissan make the announcement and their tone. Another casualty looks to be the Alpine A10. A lot of niche models I find hard to see them coming back when the niche slice of the pie will become even harder to fight more in the coming years
  6. Big announcement next Thu when Nissan will outline their cut backs across different regions including the scrapping of the Datsun brand in India. They will also address to focus towards SUVs - this might include them officially announcing the end of the GTR and 370z. Given that the Mercedes X Class has been officially cut I have a feeling that 28 May will be the official verdict https://www.motorbiscuit.com/cost-cutting-kills-nissan-370z-and-gt-r-in-europe-could-us-be-next/
  7. Yes its a shame really. Worth mentioning that there are plenty of alternatives now that the Juke Gen 2 has to compete with against like the Kona, Puma (?), Im not too clued up about this segment tbh. Just read this on sky.com that supports what you're saying https://news.sky.com/story/nissan-uk-plant-could-become-suv-hub-report-11990617 The plan would see the Japanese giant's European arm focus on sports utility and commercial vehicles, as well as more effective sharing and products and investments with its partner Renault, sources told Reuters. It is part of a three-year global turnaround plan to be unveiled on 28 May, ...Nissan has been searching for direction since the arrest of long-standing boss Carlos Ghosn in November 2018 on charges of financial misconduct - which he denies. The devastating impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the car industry has added to pressure on the company to come up with a new strategy. Just a shame as I can just picture the gen 2 being lowered, Nismo bodykitted and with Merc engine . I think it would look the part esp as the rear doors are concealed - def more sporty from the side then the GLA45 I think the nearest performance coupe is the Infiniti Q60 now discontinued. Mysteriously the offifical branches like Reading are no longer listing these on autotrader.Noticed this a month back. The 3.0s have just vanished it seems and they had a few low mileage ones

    Juke Gen 2

It's a cliché often used but it comes together in the flesh and I'm starting to like the styling. 2 main reasons why I'm posting this: 1. Intrigued to see when the Nismo version comes out what it looks like. Perhaps if Nissan went all out and turn it into a full hot hatch then it could appease those waiting for a new Z car at least in the interim ? Perhaps get the old A45 engine since they have worked with Benz with Infiniti and the Q30 2. Given that Gen 1 was stylistically cued with the 370z, I wouldn't object to seeing a similar front end on a new Z car. See the photos taken today, once the main circular foglight is removed I think it looks distinctive enough and incorporates the new V motion grille Nissan are going for. I know this front end would go against the recent retro rumours that have been floating around the net
  9. I agree about the 993. 996s do look like a more feasible bet. I would prioritise getting a low mileage over a Turbo for maintenance. There are some nice GT3s mind your for the mid 40s mark
  10. agree with the Spyder. There the only Porsches that kinda catch my eye as they have a different look to them Re M2s etc whilst those cars would wipe the floor vs a Mk2 Nismo they just don't have that rarity or "what's that car" factor. But ppl out there will snap those up for sure in the coming year.
  11. indeed but like others have said they are sh!t to drive plus the annual cost of keeping them cancels out the appreciation curve they exhibit. They will continue to go up obviously not linearly or exponentially but in plateaus , steady rises - which then leaves the question how long do you have to hold onto one before selling at a profit especially taking into account the longer you hold on for the more money you are putting in storage, parts etc
  12. I will be honest with you I don't know how it entered my head - I'm not even a fan of the back to the future series of films. I just got the idea and saw online that they are within budget, scarce and parts can be bought online. If I had a better budget the forthcoming Cayman GT4 RS or Boxter Spyder 718 tick many boxes (residuals, usability albeit I only do low miles anyway). maybe its being locked down but call me mad but I was even thinking of getting a roundaround like an Audi S1 which have actually dropped a fair bit to less then used Golf Rs of similar mileage and then importing one of these for weekend laughs
  13. Is anyone here know much about the infamous motor? Toying with the idea of buying a good one and then keeping it garaged for a future sell 5-7 yrs down the line. There is a small DeLorean community based in the UK that has meets, own forum, magazine that I am thinking of joining. Still unsure atm. If I do go down this route it would prob been reverting from the 370z Nismo to an econobox daily once my lease expires next year. Anyone here chime in on the pros/cons of buying a DeLorean £35-40k
  14. Only if C7 auto drop to £35k mark but really I would buy only from Ian Allen for peace of mind and to resell later through them. Mind you they have closed a branch recently and after looming recession do you think they will be around in 5yrs?
  15. Although come to think of it there def is a gap in terms of the paint finish, interior (obviously) to the Germans . I know the colours are not like for like the BMW had that vivid colour to it that made you want to touch it. The vette seemed a bit flat and faded. I wont mention the mirrors lol
  16. I think the C7 isn't too bad a lot better looking imo with the central exhausts, coke bottle body etc. Most are have got low miles on them the few that come on the market. Just feel that paying £40+ for one is a bit much esp since i8s, LC500s, pre MY17 GTRs are dropping, F types, TTRS etc The other issue with the C8 seems to be the axle twisting on testing when they have been playing around with the engine probably for the Z06 and ZR1. I would be more nervous about buying those models tbh .
  17. The plastic features on the interior also have a gun metal look to them - door handles inside, transmission area etc
  18. Found this interesting article that talks about possible build quality and reliability issues with the C8. I have pasted the best bits below as some of these links can be slow to load. My feeling that whilst the C8's performance for the price will be unmatched, looks and build issues rule it out for me later down the road. I feel that the C7 is the one to go for as its really offers the best rounded package. I loved the looks of the C6 wide body models but the interior I couldn't live with. I still feel that 2014/2015 C7s should have dropped more by now here? When they do come on the market they are early to mid £40s from a reputable dealer albeit low miles. 15 Build Quality From a sheer economics view, the fact that Chevy would try to build a new, affordable supercar for the masses seems like a dubious choice. The old saying goes that manufacturers can only pick two between speed, weight, and cost—but it seems like Chevy has tried to go for all three. Meanwhile, one C8 owner already sheared an axle at the strip, pointing to serious build quality concerns. RELATED: 15 Photos Of How The Chevy Corvette Has Changed Over The Years 14 Leaky Engine Bay via Motor1 One quick video that popped up featuring a legit concern about the C8 Corvette surrounds the engine bay cover. Of course, every C8 owner wants their mid-mounted 6.2-liter V8 to be visible for fans and vented, to prevent overheating, but the fact that so much water gets into the engine bay during a quick wash obviously made people nervous immediately. 13 Transmission Blown via Autogespot One terrible headline that emerged quite quickly after new C8 Corvettes began delivering to eager customers revealed that one poor owner suffered a transmission failure—after only 32 miles! As reported by CarBuzz, the owner hadn't even been hooning about, as might be expected, and had been following the break-in procedures. 12 Paint Scratching via Motor1 Another quick issue that popped up for the C8 came down to a strange screw, which appeared to be the wrong length for its application near a door and ended up scratching and denting the new C8's paint job. Apparently, the screw was part of the doorjamb assembly and stuck out too far when the door closed—and The Drive reports this wasn't an isolated incident, either. 11 Stitching Problems via autoevolution General Motors is going through a love-hate relationship with social media right now, no doubt. On one hand, social media allows happy customers to show just how potent of a sports car the C8 Corvette is—on the other, unhappy customers can quickly snap a photo and share it with the world showing little details like the terribly uneven stitching on the brand-new C8's dashboard seen above. 10 Seat Wrinkles via The Drive Another C8 Corvette owner took to social media to express displeasure about the state of the car's seats. It seems as though the upholstery departments at GM service facilities might have a lot of work on their hands, given how quickly the seat covers seem to be wrinkling and scrunching up. 9 Haunted Horn via Driving Line Nobody likes a car that gets a personality, especially a brand-new, highly anticipated release like the C8 Corvette. But some new owners have suffered through some quirky horn behavior, with a whole section of the popular Corvette Forum website dedicated to horns that honk on their own or don't honk at all—the latter of which is a safety issue. 8 Window Gremlins via GM Authority Electrical gremlins can be the most troublesome and worrisome problem for a vehicle to have, especially because they're so hard to fix and can lead to a very bad reputation (just ask Jaguar about buying two of their cars or Volkswagen about the Touareg). A particular strain of gremlins seems to have infested the C8's window switches, causing windows to go up and down for no reason. 19. It isn't I don't think I agree lol But holding onto a low miles Nismo is I think is until I need a more practical car. In reality if I got the JDM clears then possibly I would sell my existing 2018 rear lights - they are slightly tinted compared to 2009-2017 370z rear lights . I think this would soften the financial blow although I would forsee selling the existing rear lights as being a bit of a ball ache imo If a decently priced auto Corvette C7 at Ian Allen Motors comes onto the market in the interim then I would possibly get rid of the Nismo
  20. Structural Blue is a £15k option . I think the LC looks great in any colour tbh though I agree that it's the type of car that you really want. Similar to the 4C , I think it has a set purpose which it does really well making the 370z look like a daily driver in comparison. I think manufacturers were/are trying to create a new colour to replace white as the new black. Blue is currently in vogue with Miami Blue, baby blue with Hyundai N. Yellow seems to have got a prior push with Mercedes A35, golf R Tumeric yellow , audi S1 etc as well as Nardo type greys (Audi, Focus STs, GTI TCR, Range Rover, Mini S etc). JDM Clears are expensive. With a working reflector replacement light I think it would look pretty good. I'm not too sure on the wiring installation and if those that have taken the plunge had any operational problems later down the road - any one here done this to their Z yet?
  21. Had a sit inside the LC500 just before lockdown Westfield London as Lexus were exhibiting . Smart interior, v mature compared to the Nismo. Did foresee it being a bit of a pain to keep clean only minor gripe esp with the lighter interior, back seats etc. Read a few nightmares with regard to paint matching on Lexus forums in relation to body repairs. They say this virus may come back next year as a second wave mutation (again speculation) but if it does then expect depreciation to hit the used car market again - the extent to which will obviously depend on the availability and roll out of a possible vaccine. I think latter half of 2021 prices might be the time to make a purchase Given the rarity of the Mk2 Nismos and that I'm unlikely to have kids anytime soon, I'm more inclined to keep and perhaps swap the rear lights with JDM clears if I can get a good deal and replace the bottom reflector with a working rear brake light as an added touch. Agree the Mustangs are becoming more common but excellent value though. The facelifted GTRs still look special but the price and running costs are high for me personally Worthy mention is that the Stinger is being facelifted soon with added power and a rear light bar so expect these to fall. I still can't figure out if I like the looks of it or not tbh similar to the Mk8 Golf
  22. That's q interesting. Have you had any reliability issues at all? I was speaking to a Payco at the London meet here who also has a Mk2 White Nismo and we were saying that part of the appeal is knowing that there isn't much that can go wrong with the Z - Don't want to tempt fate but I think its prob the most reliable sports car you can buy today (NA V6, not a techfest inside, manual, no heating/electronic seats, built in the Tochigi factoary by the GTR guys etc) The only thing with the new Mustang as Ive noticed more in London last few years is that they may be a bit too big here. Luckily about 85% of my driving has been on motorways/dual carriageways. I look of the 2014 Mustang as it had that retro look with a subtle modern touch to it. They are going for early 20s which I think is q high for a LHD and the newer ones coming down like your would be a safer bet
  23. Funnily enough that' literally a v v similar situation I am in with my Mk2 Nismo which I've had since Mar 18 on a 3 yr PCP. Had a look and low mileage Nismos can be had for early £20ks now . Mine is the 2018 model onwards which has the exedy clutch, darkened chrome door handles but I don't think that's enough for someone to pay much extra esp as you said given the current outlook. 5.0 in Grabber blue auto would be my ideal choice tbh
  24. Yes 75k base and 80-85k for the sport pack. Avoid the hybrid though I don't think its worth it On top of covid 19 , the LC has just been revised with a mild facelift so this may effect prices a bit I know its not for everyone but I forsee the yellow ones being the ones where dealers become a bit desperate to sell and are willing to knock off a fuerther few grand
