  1. Purely my opinion on these: C5: Good value, iconic looks (pop up lights, muscly etc) but hard to find a pristine example . Lots of paint fade esp red, yellow cars that I have seen C6: Better value but really lacks something without the wide body that's found on the GS/Z06. Also I would be tempted to avoid the convertible less hassle maintenance wise C6 GS/Z06: My concern with the Z06 is the supercharger, maintenance, overheats etc. Prefer the NA GS. When you consider these are approx £10k more than a C6 it makes more sense to spend a bit more and buy a C7 Stingray imo which will continue to be a desirable car with an interior that's another world to all Vettes before it C7 Stingray: £40k+ with the C8 coming out 2020, buying an unmolested C7 would be a good proposition as they effectively will be the final front engine cars. I don't think these will plummet like the C6 however and stay around early £40k for a sub 20k mileage car
  2. Spotted again. This might be the most underwhelming moment in automobile history when its revealed you've heard it here first https://www.carscoops.com/2019/01/2020-volkswagen-golf-new-8th-gen-model/#Echobox=1548046395
  3. North West London so prob going to the Ace Café meet in June
  4. im sure some black aftermarket rims would complete the look esp with that new 3 in red
  5. The ironic thing is imo that the BMW would look better as the coupe and Supra as the roadster - anyone agree?
  6. don't see that at all. When the rear lights are lit those circular lights are q distinctive. Theres only so much you can do when it comes to designing a hatch (even more so with 4 door). The segment has reached its limit in terms of pushing the boundaries of styling in terms of overall basic bodyshape (not rims, spoiler etc). Visually and this is just my opinion this car is currently the most innovative in terms of design
  7. Anyone here think that Mazda really nailed the design on this one? Shame there is no warm/hot hatch variant in the works but for a daily all rounder that's a bit different this seems like one to consider
  8. You guys also have to remember that the US market is not necessarily a shoe in for Nissan as some others have suggested. Despite there being less bias towards the German marques/badge snobbery in the US compared to here, a new Z will have to compete with the Mustang , Camaro, Charger etc on US soil
  9. i think a better approach would be for Infiniti focus NOW on at least establishing their name as a luxury EV car maker not waiting till 2021 when the new models launch ; it will be the same situation all over again with people thinking "what's this? how much? what? eff that lets just buy an audi, benz…" Can they not release an upmarket leaf in the meantime to start the initiation to luxury EV?
  10. Maybe most of the time but not this time...
  11. I saw one at the Renault Nissan dealership a month or so back. Was going to post my thoughts but didn't want to come across a bit negative on here so refrained My breakdown with regard to its looks on the forecourt: PROS Really nice brake calipers painted in blue. They were dirty yet almost sparkled through the rims Interior looks pretty nice inside Blue paint def makes the car stand out even more. Rear elegant and different CONS Front end with the quad lights looks a little odd. Even though the car is trying to stick to its heritage I feel that the front end really does not compare well to other cars in the segment., Too hard trying to be different and just doesn't work Its smaller then I thought; might be better for driveability but it def sacrifices road presence as a result. Would be even more noticeable in traffic with other cars It does not "look" like a £50k car . It will get you noticed but it looks like something you can pick up for £30-35k CONCLUSION Its not really sexy (Alfa 4C), not really muscular (Nismo 370z, GTR), not really clean, (TT, 911) and not really sporty cute (MX5, abarth, elise s1). Its an amalgamation of styling inspirations that don't really work
  12. I think we've covered this topic in full but Autocar recently published a short article covering this exact topic . Worth a read https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/industry/insight-why-infiniti-faces-hard-slog
  13. Its not the most aesthetic is it. From any angle. My guess is this design won't age well at all. overly complicated. Hate to say it but the new z4 looks better. Of the new cars coming out the Audi E-tron looks elegant, futuristic and despite not being sexy is not offending to the eye (or mine at least ha!)
  14. I prefer them a lot more to the dark tinted rear lights that waaay too many people get. If Porsche offer them as an option on the 911 then i think its a fairly good indicator that these are still in?
  15. Just wondering your thoughts on the clear tail lights for a white 370z I always liked the clear lights on the 911 and I think it can work q well on certain cars. My opinion is that on a white pearl 370z it works . But how come this mod is not that common> Ive never seen a 370z in real life with clear lights. I always thought that Nissan needed to do something with the rear lights as they did with the front lights (by darkening them like the Nismo Mk2). I actually think that the rear lights of the facelifted Juke look q cool. I think the clear rear lights emphasise the "boomerang" shape of the light a bit more. Also the standard ones tend to draw your eyes to them whereas the clear JDM ones cause you to appreciate the body of the car more. I think on a Nismo Mk2 it would be q an interesting look
  16. The point is German designs tend to play it safe with an evolutionary, conservative look to them that make the different trim levels all very generic when it comes to the model line up. Def form over function. Going back to the Supra I cant figure out if I like the look of it or not. Initially when I saw the concepts and camouflaged reveal it was a no. Then I saw the videos which gave a better perspective. Now the latest revealed images only seem to highlight the cars oddities (bonnet line, lights etc). The best way to judge it will be to see it on the road alongside other vehicles and seeing how it compares to other vehicles. Ive always found Audi, VW and BMW models tend to look really nice by themselves alone but when in the real world esp from a 10m distance its hard to tell them apart and they simply blend in. Leaving my 370z Nismo in a car park it seems totally different and out of place compared to everything else lol
  17. I watched some reviews on the 2 gens on youtube as I had some time to kill and apparently the 6th gen 2.0 is big improvement plus you get an updated interior and blind spot sensors, camera as standard Theres actually a V6 on the 6th gen that sits between the 2.0 and 6.2 V8 in the US Interesting fact: I learnt that the 6th gen weighs less slightly then 370z Nismo with the 2.0 giving slightly better fuel economy . V8 6.2 different story completely lol
  18. I was talking about this with someone the other day; its great for overall useability and lack of blind spots having a conservative simplistic European boxy design but they sacrifice road presence as a result I feel the same way about the Golf R and M2; im sorry but imo there basically hot versions of very ordinary cars. The Type R seems to be an exception
  19. Quirky choice tbh. I would consider but depends what stage I am in my life in couple yrs and where I will be located. Shame there is no option for the Swift Sport boosterjet engine in this. I think it would be easier to make the shift to one of these if you drove a "normal" car as opposed to 370z
  20. Has this been caught on anyone's radar here? Ignoring the top range ZL models here's my take 5th Gen: Really depreciated and looks just as similar/outrageous to the current 6th Gen model (esp the final year face-lift 2014 model where it got updated lights upfront and back). Just as rare on UK roads and so only really experts will be able to tell the difference between generations. Mileage wise most cars on market have done q low figs. Correct if I'm wrong but these motors like the Corvettes are designed to have miles put on them - so really the ones on the used market have really just been run in. Engine choice 6.2 V8s though there are some 3.6 V6s though Ive heard the V6 feels a bit cumbersome . 6th Gen: Can buy brand new at £35k from Chevrolet for a 280hp model or mid 20s on the used market. Minimal colours and options it seems. The full fat 6.2 V8 still around 35k mark though will drop once there is the final year refresh and the subsequent launch of the 7th Gen Seems to be mid £20s gets you either a 5th Gen V8 or a 6th Gen 2.0 both with low ish miles. I can imagine parking would be a nightmare with these but the road prescence its hard to beat for the price. id prbably lean to the 6th gen 2.0 turbo model if I had pick
  21. The safety rating of that thing concerns me as well as not having enough power to get out of tricky situations
  22. i think the right colour will set it off ; probably one of those that you have to see in the flesh like the GTR to appreciate Not convinced re number plate placement btw Also notice the positioning of what I assume are front sensors? Is it me or is a bit of an odd location?
  23. Golf shaped car with VW badge spotted in South Africa and filmed albeit in low quality If this is the forthcoming Mk8 then it hasn't really changed much in shape/proportion. Rims look spot on and new headlights are sleek and aesthetic but everything else is the same to me at least. I suspect its the interior and dive train that will see the major changes https://www.topspeed.com/cars/car-news/is-this-the-new-2020-volkswagen-golf-mk8-ar183716.html
  24. This is what I thought initially from the images but the idea behind the shape is that the daytime running lights are more pronounced with this shape that appears to "cut into" the metal work. Its hard to describe but certainly looks better with the engine running and daytime running lights on ; in the photos with the car turned off it does look a bit peculiar i agree Also Im q surprised that the majority of front splitter area has been painted the same as the main body colour. Plus where would you put the registration plate? any idea I also think that they need a special colour to set this car off orange or even the blue they have for the new corolla
  25. I think the yellow spiders might be the bargain buy even if its only marginal ; newer models and prob harder to shift for sellers I spotted this one last yr. Didn't really look like a "stunning" red to me and the rims weren't my fav. Do you know which one it is?
