  1. they have already confirmed the IDX wont be put into production (in any form). Of the concepts I believe that the Gripz will likely make it into production
  2. The only thing that's putting doubt in my mind is having Nissan's London team in charge of the design - Im a Brit from London so can say that haha - it may be an evolutionary design but who knows Im not sure if they will be willing to make it more coupe like sacrificing rear room in the process and really go for a dramatic sporty design OR play it safe by having practical everyday usability but ultimately a design that wont turn heads. If it was me then incorporating a two tone paint scheme and/or some unique colour options like the abarths and kia soul mix might be a happy medium
  3. I may be the only one but I'm in fact getting excited for the new Juke also. Since that car first came the segment has become even more competitive and I think they are under pressure for that as well The design apparently was penned in London (saw a link somewhere in August where he directly mentions this and also says it will be a radical departure from the current model) . Just hoping that its not too bland - I dont think it can afford to be ! If the new juke is anything like the Gripz concept then might suggest that the Z replacement will be even further behind? Following articles from last yr and last month respectively is q interesting in how the two models have some connection https://www.thesun.co.uk/motors/2770588/2017-nissan-juke-gripz-concept-unveiled/ https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/second-gen-nissan-juke-due-2019-radical-styling/
  4. Yea if anything I think its just a matter of when it will happen now rather than if it will happen (which many people had in mind say last year)
  5. you see this is where some people incl myself would have to disagree. A lot of buyers expect good build quality when they are paying above £50k for a car. you get that with Porsche , 370z/GTR, F Type etc Another point which isn't lotus' fault but as cars are getting bigger in general (and Lotus' commitment to weight saving) means that their cars look relatively small in comparison to what else is on the road. You really that impression here in London (and possibly other urban areas). The exige at least seems to "disappear" on London roads (similar to MX5, smart roadsters, mark 1 TT etc) - its just that they don't have that beefy look to them ; in insolation they look special they really do but get lost somewhat when in traffic if that makes sense?
  6. Wait and see I guess only way to know for sure ha One things for certain is that the original lead designers that did the 370z don't work for Nissan anymore . Alfonso Albaisa; did design the Infinfiti Q60 which imo was a v good looking car. not tempting fate here but chances are it'll look p cool when it arrives... someday lol
  7. Theres a difference between revealed and confirm - obviously all images at this stage are mock ups Confirmation by a senior design exec shows that the ball is moving to an eventual replacement. Unlikely that he would just say things like that to cause attention Facts are that there is a mild refresh for 2019 re the 370z - couple new colours and updated infotainment system. There are discounts going as mentioned. Likely the actual replacement will be unveiled/revealed in 2020 but again that would be intelligent specualtion
  8. Wont get an official statement until later down the line most likely. More websites covering since I posted first link Interesting to see next year what the new Juke is like late next year. If its been penned here in London i just hope that its not too conservative . London with its crap weather and German badge bias might lead to a generic design along with the usual boring colours to choose from
  9. The difference this time is that the source in question Alfonso Albaisa is q high up the Nissan design team and has already confirmed details for the next gen Juke (which is set to be a major departure styling wise at least from the current model) https://driving.ca/nissan/juke/auto-news/news/the-nissan-juke-is-coming-back-apparently-to-blow-our-minds
  10. Something tells me we will be seeing a lot of these on the roads when they get released esp in the Blue Flame colour they are offering. Initial thoughts?
  11. https://www.motor1.com/news/265179/nissan-confirms-new-z-car/ I know this has been rumoured for years now but maybe this is final confirmation? No more rumors – the company's Senior Vice President for Global Design says he's working on the 370Z replacement
  12. I think the GT model has a 350 look to it which isn't a bad thing. But looks considerably less expensive then the Nismo. It still looks good in an almost retro-esque way like the pre-facelift Mk2 TT looks good … but very early 2010s. The Nismo's rear bumper looks similar to those of the newer AMG Mercedes' and now the new Audis have the same angular front end beneath the head lights. Its seems to be combine current trends and have other styling cues like the red piping as well itself being a bigger car (with bigger wheels, wider track, fender liners etc) giving it a more imposing look to the standard 370z
  13. Good points. I do however still think that theres more to a car then just performance - if it was all about the pure driving experience then a Caterham Seven would be up there. Theres something to a showy sports car that has to look the part . Imo the Nismo Mk2 looks just as impressive but obviously lacks the performance. In addition , build quality. Videos like these seem to make me lean towards buying a Porsche over a Lotus . The later Nismos seem not to have any niggles touch wood
  14. What's your guys opinions on Lotus relative to the 370z Nismo Mk2? How much of a step up (if any) are they - not just in terms of performance but more specifically everyday road prescience My take on cars on market at £55k mark or less Exige S3 - I like the looks esp with the larger spoiler on the rear (which I think the car needs). But a bit pointless for me due to the total lack of boot space and everyday usability - I manage to make the most of my Nismo but feel like the Exige and Alfa 4C is pushing it a bit Evora - Facelifted more recent models are out of budget for me but have a more complete, more aggressive look. Older models have now come down in price but I can't over the rear spoiler looking like a handle compared to the newer models. Moreover a friend who has owned the car in Orange seems to prefer the looks of my Nismo. Has enough practicality but don't really see the Evora has a real step up from the Nismo Mk2 unless you can stretch budget for newer models (which opens up the territory for other cars)
  15. The 370z tends to stand out more on UK roads imo as its styling was done in the US by an American team. Simply put its not really been designed for UK roads so will by default stand out in the same way a Camaro and Charger look out of place here . The Nismo Mk2 seems to have stand out features from whichever angles you look at the car. Its a very loud design compared to the GT model so I've been told by many people. Re the two tone paint scheme; this only adds to the effect esp in Storm White. I do think the Nismo Mk2 will age well though interestingly is it just me but I find that the GT car (both pre-facelift and current) seem to look a bit dated now?
  16. Do you think that's a wrap or a special order paint job?
  17. Thanks for that. Are they a perfect fit like the ones that are supplied from factory?
  18. Yea the power delivery is buttery smooth which I like. I haven't really pushed it tho. Having driven 3.2 V6 Audi Quatro engines the performance is in the same not totally diff league I do again reiterate that the car looks a lot faster then it actually is. Its almost like the speed doesn't scare you (which I have heard people that have driven the GTR, 911 Turbo S, Corvette Z06 say) ; the only other analogy I can think of is a girl whom is attractive and that you fancy but not to the point that they are so stunning that you are kind of intimidated/self conscious by their looks ha
  19. I think it has potential to be an interesting buy. The main issue I think is the infotainment system reliability from what I've researched. I have yet to see one in the flesh but may well do some point this year and would be keen on seeing how it compares seating position wise to my 370z Nismo
  20. Can you post the link to where you got them?
  21. Totally agree with you on this. I think the GTR has more prescence due to its sheer size but from an aesthetics point of view the 370z is more pleasing and the front/sides/rear seem to blend well with one another whereas the GTR front look different to the rear I do believe that the 370z Nismo Mk2 looks a lot faster then it in fact is - I do get asked a lot how fast it goes. The second most asked question after what car is that
  22. With confirmed rumours and spyshots of a new Corvette C8 being revealed next year for potential early 2020 release, the current C7 base model (Stingray) seems to be dropping and now in the mid 40s Whilst not a total bargain at the moment my feeling is that I might be tempted if it suddenly plummets later down the line once the C7 is unveiled (my current contract for the 370z Nismo expires is 2.5 yrs). The C7 is generally the only viable Corvette generation car that is complete in the sense that you do get a passable interior, reasonable MPG I do remember when the previous C6 was the at the time the current Corvette and there really weren't that many to choose from in the country despite the Pound being a lot stronger to the dollar - I do think that this was partly due to the car itself being totally unviable for UK roads What are your guys thoughts on a potential Corvette C7 purchase in 1-2 yrs time? As abstract as it sounds I still think it will be total head turner even with the new M3 on the market by then. What price would it come down to for you to be tempted. I do not think it has bottomed out and surprised the early 2014/15 are now mid 40s. Im guessing they will drop to late 30s once the new model is unveiled
  23. yea just a nick thank god. Any idea on average how long a set of 4 tyres last? car has done 2700 miles already since collected mid March Lol I saw the new Bentley Continental today in an Emerald Green colour and as well as being v striking / beautiful it is v v big anyway will prob look to get the slight scuff sorted in the next couple of weeks - im just a bit cautious as my previous car (polo GTI with diamond cut monzas) were refurbed and in the end caught v bad whiteworm corrosion. The guy said to me this morning this is unlikely to happen on the Nismo rim since its not diamond cut hence only the scuffed area needs refurbing - just don't want it to worsen as a result of getting it refurbed
  24. I got the tyres checked out by 2 different places this morning and they both said it was a nick i.e. no need to replace and use glue? One was a specialist tyre place whilst the other was a wheel refurb guy who advised the 1cm minor scuff on the rim would be a relatively simple refurb Do you guys find that the car being so low and wide its almost like it was not designed for UK esp London roads?
  25. the car has only done 2700 miles on it - just cuts to the drivers side tyres I nicked the two tyres drivers side at a traffic light taking off (around 5-10mph) whilst turning right. The vehicle towards my left in neighbouring lane was planning to undertake (also turning right) so I allowed for a bit more room so adjusted slightly nearer to the curb
