  1. I think everyone here has raised some key points all likely are true. Obviously Nissan's sales are down recently more reason for them to be cautious when it comes to bringing out a new Z in shrinking segment. Further the GTR takes precedence. They may have used the Q60 as some kind of litmus test as to demand. I think in the US its doing well though so maybe we are overstating the potential detrimental influence of poor Q60 UK sales on a next Z car - the two may not be connected as such Makes sense for them to keep the MY17 refresh GTR going until 2020 I know this might be a niche of a niche of niche segment but wouldn't you guys be tempted with this. Wish they had gone ahead with it and who knows as a final send of leading into a gap period when they can think of what to do with the next generation Z
  2. I think its a manageable car tbh. Lol at the thread starting all about its performance capabilities and then I chime in and you see luggage storage solutions ha. Would like to know if anyone has noticed a visual difference between the two reds on offer ; ones a £2k option that I don't think people will pay a premium for - could be wrong. Advise to avoid the pastel yellow or maybe these will be going cheaper as hard to shift
  3. i have a feeling that was the original plan but they have gone back to the drawing board hence the delay
  4. I agree in that from 2020/21 there will be a good selection of new cars. I don't like being a sheep but heard it here first I have a feeling the next gen golf GTI/R will be a cracker I think the real bargain BMW now/near future will be the M6 and any highly specced 6 series. Re Nissan , the Z looks like it will be pushed back even further - take the Juke as a reference point; the concept should have been unveiled by now. Even if there was a Z concept revealed in 2019 (basically now) then we would have it going into production earliest late 2020. And that's v optimistic - we know with the Z it gets released Japan and US then Europe so even by that optimistic time frame we are looking at earliest UK release mid 2021
  5. i share the opinion that this is becoming more of a potential future buy with the prices to have slightly dropped now good examples mid £30ks On the UK forums they say that its reliable as anything quoting high mileage figs from US users across the pond but that may be Alfa owners viewing things from the perspective of a bit of bias. One thing is for sure - that servicing at Alfaworks is a must for this specialist car as the main network is p poor Additional Pros: Buy a good one mid 30ks and really won't be difficult to sell on/depreciate much , fuel economy, looks good in any colour/spec level (silver seems popular in London but not my fav) The biggest thing holding me back is the lack of luggage space. I might get bashed for this but I think one solution to make this car more practically viable to put a boot rail/boot bag as per the following links. If it were my 4C I would wrap the boot in PPF/vinyl then attach the rail so as to avoid any any possible marks that may arise due to it. Then attach a holdall using rope for when you need to carry extra items like the food shop. The following web site has the rail that I would use http://revo-rack.com/language/en/convertible-luggage-rack/alfa-romeo-spider-luggage-rack/ The website says that the width of the rail is 36" and on 4C forums the interior width is about 29" but it is the actual width of the external boot lid you need and I think it might just fit tbh Alternatively there are boot bags going on ebay for the 4C: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alfa-Romeo-4c-Spider-Luggage-Rack-Deck-Rack-boot-bag-original-/173553702155 Interesting side note is that prior to getting the 370z Nismo I explored this luggage solution but the overall design of the slope at the rear and spoiler positioning allows no roof to secure a bag/rail
  6. Supra sales will be interesting - interesting to see what colours will have to choose from. Might be tempted to pick one up in 2020/21 after the initial depreciation hit? As mentioned there is a growing shortage of real alternatives in every premium segment/sub segment as the 3 German brands have a tight grip on every class where the consumer seeks luxury and/or performance . The other brands are only really able to compete for the economy segment slice of the pie I think the only route in is to put out amazing performance for the price that the rivals are no where near . Best example imo would be the GTR. Anything with even respectable performance just wont sell: Stinger, GT86, Type R Stunning looks alone cannot guarantee sales away from German marques ; Alfa 4c, Lexus LC500, 370z Nismo The only real alternative that has made a slight mark here is the mustang
  7. Another issue is (unlike the 350/370z) the Q60s are a loaded tech fest (drive by wire, twin turbos, dual screen nav, 360 cameras etc) so you need to buy an expensive service plan once they come out of their 3 yr warranty in 2020/21 if looking to buy cheap at that time when they should be £20-25k imo
  8. I previously posted a thread about Infiniti back in July which didn't get much of a response so apologies if this is non-news to some lol I have just found out that when you go to their website that their new car offerings are now down to 3 models ! Looks like there will no longer be any Q60s for 2019> Your initial thoughts? Even though I've never seen the car in the flesh I always thought it looked great. The 2.0s are q cheap now having had their initial depreciation hit. The 3.0 Q60s being released a bit later are still q high on the 2nd hand market . No doubt now these will be q rare given that effectively they will have run from 2017/18 I believe. May not come down much? who knows
  9. really like the front end and put some hope that this will be incorporated in the future into one of the models... but who knows
  10. they prob paired these new two up as (for we all we know) they may have real life chemistry with eachother - that presumably can translate on camera
  11. Theres something still q tempting about the car . If and its a BIG if the car plummets in the next 24 months then it may be worth considering It will be interesting to monitor no of sales/cars on the second hand market; it may in fact drop off in 2019 and 2020 in a similar fashion to the 370z sales dropping although it appears that there are now 370s on Autotrader then 350s. There are an increasing number of Mk2 nismo 370s and I do recall the Mk1 never really being as abundant . If the Q60 sales figs decline then there may not be much to choose from on the second hand market.
  12. This is what I have in mind. I think due to its rarity I have a feeling it will age q well too so won't look like a second hand bargain (if the prices did drop). Ive never been a fan of debadging but I think from the rear the Q60s is positioned right next to the lights and removing that gives a cleaner look . I would keep the Infiiniti logo and lettering beneath tho . Im not a fan of darker coloured cars though so if the car did become a second hand proposition then the red would be the only option (silver is my fav on the Q60 but they are v rare and will likely continue to be). The debadging and new wheels would be essential mods I would make
  13. This might sound hard to believe but I've had 2 people say that from the front the Nismo has a Ferrari look to it (!) and that that if in red it would have that resemblance lol I do not se it myself but the front head lights when viewed from the side have a very sporty look compared to the TT and many other cars on the road Back to the Q60 and from the Paris Motor show it appears that the Q60s Concept is still a concept. It's still loaded with tech such as drive by wire braking in addition to drive by wire steering . I have started to lose hope in the Infiniti brand tbh. Im starting to think that the Lexus RCF is better proposition on the 2nd hand market (thought Im not convinced by the carbon edition). Dare I say it but the Kia Stinger seems to be less flawed than the Q60 3.0. Your thoughts?
  14. I totally relate and agree with this and your prev post Coming from a Polo GTI 6R 2012 I find that the Nismo suspension is NOT as stiff BUT there is way more structural rigidity from left/right, front/rear and top/bottom of the car - in fact due to the width it handles bumps / humps more easily then the Polo GTI which was very narrow in comparison Its not like latest hothatches that provide the best of all worlds. The Nismo is not the kind of car that you can just hoon around town in partly due to the road surfaces, narrow streets etc. I drive it in London and its fine I think that there would be more of an issue with a Lotus Exige , Alfa 4C - honestly the Nismo feels like a sporty GT car Added tip: avoid multi storey car parks. Its not the bays that will be the issue but the spiral ramps entering/exiting
  15. Yes the 20" rims for the 2018 Q60 in USA look q nice. Tbh I think this car had potential to really launch Infiniti in the UK. It is no longer on my shortlist of potential future cars unfortunately
  16. Im def going to be keeping on an eye on these in coming 24 months. If by then 2014-2016 models drop to late £30ks/early 40ks with <15/20000 miles then it would be v tempting eps when you consider £40k gets you a decade old Audi R8 4.2 with similar miles currently
  17. Whats your opinion on the rims - do they suit the car or would you replace? Stateside people seem to put Vossens on them which seem to suit the car well Also your opinion on the infotainment system? Is it that bad
  18. My 370z Nismo gets mistaken for a Porsche all the time so sometimes mistaken identity doesnt bother me lol Guess the issue is when the car being purchased is mistaken for something considerably cheaper
  19. yea the second hand market for LHD mustangs really became a buyers market since the RHD release. I do actually remember pre RHD mustang and the imported cars did hold their values relatively well. I do recall also there being a lot more on the market then Corvettes (maybe double); so I actually think it would be a bit more risky to for GM to release a RHD Corvette then Ford release a RHD Mustang taking into account UK Corvette demand doesn't match Mustang demand. The Mustang can be incorporated into practical family car and doesn't have the Porsche as a direct competitor. On a similar side note the success of the Mustang is pronounced compared to the poor sales past few years that of the Camaro. So much in the US in fact that Camaro values are really taking a hit over here. Wont be long till the current generation Cameo will drop. I actually anticipate this to drop first into a tempting price point before the C7 Corvette.
  20. And tbf Jaguar do a similar red colour too. I think the case of mistaken identity will only occur in the flagship red so getting that colour will be a double edged sword - less likely with black or silver; the latter of which I really like as the chrome parts of the body blend in well. Though the red is more striking I just would be appalled that it could get mistaken for something else
  21. There will be a few factors that will/may play out in the following few yrs that will determine the depreciation of the C7 Stingray Eventual release and cost of the C8 Corvette If the C8 is released in RHD as some rumours suggest: as a reference the previous generation mustang literally plummeted in value upon the release of the RHD current mustang Value of pound as noted above What are your thoughts on the F-type as an alternative? These are dropping now to the late 30ks mark. Is it me or do they not seem as special as when they first came out?
  22. Ive got the same idea in my head (along with possibly a Corvette Stingray 2014/15 once the new C8 comes out in 2020 - but that's another topic) . Back to the Q60 the only thing that's putting another doubt in my mind is how may be mistaken for this …. without sounding like a badge snob the last thing I want is someone saying nice Mazda
  23. For me the current Q60 is a v nearly/ what if car. Mainly the drive by wire steering being a concern. then the ugly rims and lastly dated infotainment system My only issue with that segment is that a lot of cars are really looking q generic . That said I would like to look at the Q60 side by side with an AMG C Class Coupe
  24. Funny you mentioned this... I parked up outside of work revving the engine few times near the window approx 10 feet from where my colleague would have been sat. Walked in and he said he couldn't hear a thing lol In the same room another co workers 2.0 turbo unit from thwe Scirocco R and TSI are both heard q loudly
