  1. I'm half Chinese and I have to admit (and sorry to sound like one of the "I'm offended" crowd) but...that word offends me. This is a really tricky one for me to explain rationally and it's a frustrating conversation I've had several times. There are so many little jokes that people make towards Chinese people that are seen as inoffensive or even positive that people simply can't accept that what they're saying may be construed as racist i.e. Chinese women are placid and subservient, all of them are good at maths, making 'Kung Fu' noises when mentioning Chinese names etc. etc. All of these things might not sound like they are particularly oppressive but they all combine to provide a very narrow and diminishing view of well over 1.3 billion individual human beings. The word 'chink' is just so often used towards people in a dismissive manner and while I'm 'lucky' that I've only ever had two minor incidents of racism leveled at me, the term just sits with all the other things to leave a sour taste. I won't even get started on the happy birthday thing, I'd never heard of that but when I read it just now I was absolutely raging. It's just so common-place that people can't accept that anyone could possibly be offended by it, same as off-hand comments about ginger people or large spoilers being referred to as Big Gay Wings. It's very easy to dismiss things as banter or people as too easily offended but those views are so often held by people who have never been in a position where they are a 'minority' in some form.
  2. Atleast hes less likely to go to war than clinton He's less openly critical of Russia perhaps but with his anti-Islam rhetoric and spouting off about 'destroying IS' I imagine he'd be quite happy to put boots on the ground in Iraq and Syria. The guys a total liability but I imagine in reality very little will change, it's the same group of people, just with a potato the top.
  3. Really? You're happy that a racist, mysoginstic man-child is going to get his hands on the nuclear codes? It's truly staggering that so many Americans were suckered by his lies.
  4. I wouldn't risk it either, especially on a Rota wheel, the structural integrity is never going to be what it was after a hit like that. Glad to hear the damage wasn't worse, what actually happened?
  5. You need the correct patch lead for your steering wheel controls to work with an aftermarket head unit, yours might be missing this or it may not be pushed all the way in properly. I seem to remember having a similar issue when I fitted my head unit and I just hadn't pushed the lead in properly. Looks like this: http://caraudiosecurity.com/29-007-pioneer-patch-lead
  6. Best Rocket Bunny zed I've seen, looks awesome but I still can't get on with those DRL's in the front bumper. Looks like they've mounted the spoiler further forward than you're meant to but with it being smoothed in I really like, perfect angle.
  7. Lots of inspiration here mate: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/36072-show-off-your-sunset-03-06-350z/ Personally I like gunmetal wheels on the sunset Zeds.
  8. Beautiful mate, sits so nicely on those wheels, actually really like the quad exhaust too. How are you finding the coilovers on London streets?
  9. Beautiful wheels, one of my favourite designs, can't wait to see them on!
  10. Love it mate, glad you still have the love for her. Out of interest, what makes you regret the Nismo v2 bumper? Too low?
  11. Sorry no I still haven't managed to fix this. My next step is to send the speedo cluster away to be looked at, I just need to find a reputable company.
  12. Thanks for the kind words chaps, I'll make sure to say hello next time. Does anyone know who owns the gunmetal zed in the first pics? I can't place it from the forum.
  13. I don't know of any in Bedford, if you can I would recommend the trip down to Wheels in Motion - http://www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk
  14. Hello, spent a few hours at JP Show last weekend, I wasn't on the stand but had a great time scanning over all the awesome zeds in attendance, mentally picking future mods Was a small show but the quality of cars was really high and I thought it had a great vibe generally. Anyway, here are some of the photos I took on the day, for more photos and full resolution versions please see my Flickr album here: https://flic.kr/s/aHskHawy9B Apologies but I didn't take that many shots on the club stand as I was in a bit of a rush Hopefully next time I'll be able to cover everyone. Cheers! Rich
  15. "The car that I hit made my car tip over. The woman's car is absolutely fine... She needs a new wheel arch, which I guess I'm paying for." Who else is going to pay for it Nick? The sodding cat?!
  16. Looks lovely mate and that's some seriously low mileage! Most people on here with the standard Rays run 20mm spacers on the front with 25mm on the back.
  17. Hello all! Been a zed owner and browser of the forum for a few months now so it's about time I said hello. So, my name is Rich and I'm the proud owner of the 350z that used to belong to Arran on here. Absolutely loving it so far and it's a real testament to how well Arran treated this car. Like a few others I've spotted on here, my last car was an NA rev 2 MR2 and before that a gen 7 Celica which I loved but the zed feels like it's on a different level. Not done much to it since I bought it, just a new headunit and gear knob to replace the standard items and popped down to Abbey for a new rear wheel bearing and rear discs & pads. Haven't got any major plans, was about to pull the trigger on some spacers and tein s techs but just found out I'll be working in Beijing for a couple of months so they'll have to wait. Finally had the chance to take some quick pics, so I'll leave you with those. Rich

    Spoiler ID

Yep, GarageMak, I'd love one of these too
  19. This is just up the road from me, I don't want the car but worth the trip for the free mum sex appeal alone, right?
  20. I like the grey too, got a bit of a USDM vibe about it but if you're not going down the slammed with big shiny wheels route then I get why you would want to change it.
  21. Yeah Singapore is insane, interesting blog post about it on Speedhunters: http://www.speedhunters.com/2014/10/singapore-nightlife-car-culture/
  22. Yep, even worse in Singapore too. My mum is from Malaysia and I was out there a couple of years ago, I was amazed at how vibrant the modified car scene is out there considering the cost, they really love their cars.
  23. Welcome bud, car looks in lovely condition. I grew up in Bedford so may see you around there when visiting my parents, will wave if I spot you
