  1. A big front splitter to match the big wing on the back maybe.
  2. Are you planning to build an air-box around the throttle bodies? Otherwise I thought you could have got away with short bellmouths to avoid the original oil filler neck.
  3. Hi Rob, give Alan Price at Alan Price Auto Services a ring for a quote: AP Auto Services 91 Tontine Street Blackburn BB1 6DR 01254 679937 They have 4 wheel tracking equipment and do a good job, so your camber arm should not be a problem for them. I had Meister R coil-over shocks fitted by them with a full alignment, and my car corners well. Alan even drove my unregistered 350Z import from the port at Newcastle back to his Blackburn garage on his trade plates for me, so he will go the extra mile for you. Possibly not the cheapest, but I would recommend them, and guess where my car will be going for it's next MOT and annual check over.
  4. Anyone know where I can get side skirt clips from? They have a 5.5mm dome on the end of a 4.5mm shaft. see below:
  5. A big thanks to Paul P15UL T, who spotted my request for Nismo skirts. I am now the owner of the original Lime Green pair depicted in TarmacSport's advert in the link above. Now do I spray these Blade Silver to match the car, or spray the car to match the skirts? I'll probably spray the skirts at this stage to keep the car a bit more subtle, as it is my daily driver.
  6. HI, I'm looking for a set of Urethane Nismo skirts for a 350Z. TarmacSportz used to sell the '3D Carbon' versions of these, but they are no longer available. http://www.350z-uk.c...-fit-group-buy/ Searching the web it appears that Motorsport auto also make a similar urethane version - MSA Type 7 side skirts. So if anyone has a set or knows where I can get some please let me know. I'm not keen on FRP fibreglass low down on the car as am sure it would not take me too long to break.
  7. Where I live we get really thick fog on country roads up on moorland hills, where low angled front fog lights help illuminate the edge of the road so you don't run into the ditch or hit a dry stone wall. Use of main beam in these conditions will only make visibility worse. Agreed on rear fog lights where some idiots put them on in the rain on motorways blinding drivers behind them, and masking their own brake lights.
  8. Agreed Jetpilot. Fitting MeisterR coil-overs to mine made a big difference to ride comfort and handling. The standard springs they supply will be fine.
  9. Yes, OEM 17 inch fitted to mine for winter. Some JDM models are fitted with smaller brakes. My car was originally, but I got the brakes swapped over to Brembo before it left Japan. I do however have 20mm spacers fitted which came with the car, which will alter the distance to the spokes, but the Brembo brakes do clear the rims. Tyre sizes: Front: 225/50R17 94W Rear: 235/50R17 06W
  10. Yes they do on mine. I do however have 20mm spacers fitted which came with the car, which will alter the distance to the spokes, but the Brembo brakes do clear he rims. Some JDM models are fitted with smaller brakes. My car was originally, but I got the brakes swapped over to Brembo before it left Japan. Comfort wise I have not noticed much difference if any since taking off the 18 inch Ray wheels.
  11. I've dug up the 17inch rim info: Front : Size: 17x7.5 Offset: +30mm Weight: 23.26lbs Tyre: 225/50/17 Rear : Size: 17x8.0 Offset: +33mm Weight: 24.14lbs Tire: 235/50/17 I hope this helps.
  12. JDM 350 FairladyZ come with 17inch wheels as standard, and I'm currently using a set with winter tyres on. Not sure of the rim sizes, but tyres recommended in the manual are: Front: 225/50R17 94W Rear: 235/50R17 06W I have these Contis fitted and have driven on roads covered in sleet/hailstones at below zero temperatures already this year: Continental ContiWinterContact TS810 Sport 225/50R17 94 H FR Continental ContiWinterContact TS810 Sport 235/50R17 100 V XL, FR, N2
  13. Does this brace improve handling at all, or is it just to add bling?
  14. eBay shop - CarcarStyleLimited does 3M film: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/CarcarStyleLimited I bought some Carbon fibre wrap to make up some fake Nismo B-pillar trims, which turned out well: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/381348034768 Dan is correct, buy plenty. I spent ages on the first pillar trying to smooth out the creases with a heat gun. When I ripped off the first attempt in desperation, I found the wrap actually had an outer protective film, and I was trying to smooth out that.
  15. My figure of 25.mpg average is measured and not from the inaccurate DTE. How? Fill the tank to the brim each time and measure the mileage. Oh dear, the milometer may not be accurate either
  16. After a years ownership, I treated my car to a full service and all oil/ fluids changed, plus new spark plugs and a 2 stage Terraclean. The 2 stage process involves additional cleaning via the intake to clean the MAF sensor, throttle body and plenum chamber, above the normal process which feeds in through the injectors. Did it make a difference? Two things were immediately noticeable on the first drive afterwards: 1) The exhaust was a lot louder Presumption here - the Cats had been cleaned out by the process? I had fitted an Invidia exhaust, as I could not hear the original JDM exhaust over the tyre noise. Yep, I can hear it now! 2) Tick-over was up to about 1000rpm Presumption here - the injectors had been cleaned and were delivering more fuel? A pedal dance to run the idle learning process sorted that out. Any other effects are only subtle, and not like night and day when I had this done on the Old Merc. Question - is it worth performing a full ECU reset, or will the ECU gradually adapt?
  17. 204 JDM DE 350 Auto averaged 25.2mpg for 3359.89 litres of Shell V-Nitro, driven daily on all roads including cruising at 3100rpm on Motorways, and revving to 6500rpm if I get to the lights first, or am first onto the motorway slip road. No Improvements/changes to mpg have been made despite "performance" improvements of Invidia exhaust, cold air intake, high flow AE air filter, ported plenum, and Horsham plenum spacer, and an engine earth kit. It is faster through the corners now, but that is due to MeisterR shocks
  18. Plates are registered on date of manufacture in Japan. I have a JDM import.
  19. Good line for going fast past the pits, if you hit the following apex on the left
  20. There is an easy and cheap way to reduce tyre roar. My JDM 350Z cam with no sound deadening material at all in the boot. Lifting up the thin boot mat revealed nothing but body coloured painted panels. Get down to B&Q and get yourself a roll of Duralay Silentwalk 3mm Hardwood Floor Underlay 7.5 m². Buy some carpet contact adhesive spray such as Evo-stick to stick it down. At 3mm thick it is easily cut with a strong pair of scissors to fit the shape of your boot and wheel arches. This reduces sound transmission by 22 db. If you really want to go to town on the job then first stick on a layer of Evo-Stik Grey Flashing Tape, which is self adhesive and easily applied when warm, which reduces vibration and sound transmission. I got these tips from a Mini forum sent in by a Auto sound competition winner. The tyre noise is still there, but at least I can now enjoy my stereo and Invidia exhaust note more
  21. I guess if it is Polyurethane plastic reinforced with fibreglass strands then applying heat should make it malleable/mouldable. Polyurethane can also be plastic welded If the FRP is resin based I would say not.
