  1. The ones by Mopedmark, in the members traders section, are excellent! Much better in terms of smoothness and positive action of shift, as well as tactility and looking great too My new zed has been treated to an unpainted brushed one; it's improved the shift considerably. So much better that oem; second one I've bought (had on previous zed & had similar great results) Arrived well packaged in just two days total too P.s. I managed to hold the shaft, through the gaitor, with one hand and twist the oem one off with the other. Took a lot of initial effort and needed to put gloves on to get traction, but all fitted within a couple of minutes.
  2. As per title, mine has some paint fading. Could paint it up I guess, but if someone's got one for sale, please pm me
  3. Snap! Ordered the same yesterday! Can't wait to fit; it made such a difference on my last zed
  4. The revised price makes this a top contender
  5. Haha! Only difference I've found so far is zinc plated or stainless steel; and price range 70 - 260 gbp
  6. I've spent a good few hours reading posts and looking at different disc & pad combos, so ideal thread I'm also mainly daily, but may do the odd track day. Had 2500 frodos previously and they were a bit squealy / dusty / wooden from cold (shims helped) Was thinking oem Brembo discs, but even with 30% ECP discount code, they're more expensive than either MTec or RTS. MTecs are winning because the anti-corrosion treatment is available and the comment above about the dimples matching the Rays! I'm veering towards Hawk HPS front pads and may be Stoptech Street rears. Was thinking Hawk Ceramics after reading a few posts, but HPS (Ferro-Carbon) state they can be used on light autocross, suggesting a slightly better ability than the Ceramics on track (which say street only). A lot of choice of braided lines too!
  7. Welcome V Somerset's within reasonable reach of the infamous Z Shed; they're a bit tied up atm (not my doing) but it's a great place to get your Z sorted (pm buster and Keyser)
  8. Doh! Ordered MPS4 yesterday. Having the fronts done first (tmw) - they're costing me more than that - a bargain this is!
  9. Great thread It's still relevant to those deciding between these two exhausts, as I am. Lots of info and opinions to read; I've not voted yet, as haven't decided. Seems the Milltek may be too quiet with stock cats, but a few posts say the same about the Invidia, but it seems this opinion is less compared to Milltek. Listening to you tube videos, I preferred the more refined sound of the Milltek and I like the tips. The Invidia seems to sound more raspy (I found the Cobra resonated catback, Motordyne resonated Y-pipe & Berks HFC too raspy) but it's true dual design and comments about excellent build quality and potential for a slight performance advantage, are leaning me towards the the Invidia. I'm planning on keeping stock cats, so Invidia's looking the favourite Anyone had experience with these systems on track? I.e. passing static & drive by noise limits?
  10. Glad to hear you went for it Kernow This kit transformed my Z; so much so, I've bought an Xtreme Clutch & Flywheel from Ewen for my DC2
  11. Sold! To a fine gentleman from Chester whom I'm sure will enjoy her to the full and continue to lavish her with attention!
  12. A previous owner of a previous car I owned had Terracleaned the car and it ran very well! Can't compare to before the clean though. Ed China got very good results on an old Jag, improving emissions, but he is their ambassador; not sure whether he was when he did the Jag? £150 seems reasonable!
  13. Thanks Andy Well said sir! Thank you I've spent a pretty penny on her and enjoyed owning her for the last six months (longer than my average ownership duration!), she's going to be difficult to replace. Thanks Dynamic Turtle I'll definitely regret selling, the modifications are subtle yet enhancing and it's so much fun to drive! Thanks Jim, How's the V8?
  14. Jul '08 HR 350Z, Satnav, low mileage, choice modifications and thousands recently spent on clutch/csc/flywheel, brakes, tyres, all fluids, droplinks, spark plugs, disc skimming and all braking contact surfaces cleaned. FSH: All books with 8 stamps in the service book and most invoices; Nissan then known professional traders on this forum, please see comprehensive list below! Low mileage: 43.7k, it's my daily so the mileage goes up with the commute (4 miles each way, always warmed up and cooled down). It’s fantastic to drive, looks and sounds amazing and is a credit to it’s former owners (previous two are forum members). I’m selling to fund a house deposit. Other than the extensive servicing, highlights include Rota GTR wheels (18’s to maintain comfort plus the added benefit of more affordable tyres), Alzean heated leather seats (love them!), JVC headunit that brings the Bose speakers to life (works with the steering wheel controls) and the exhaust system combined with UpRev remapping on a conservative and reliable dyno by a renowned 350Z tuner to 318bhp and 280lbft with a much improved power curve, flattening out any factory flat spots in acceleration. MOT: 26 Jan 2017 (no advisories) Located: Bournemouth Price: £11,995 The price reflects condition, mileage, modifications/upgrades and extensive recent maintenance. A few minor cosmetic imperfections (light curbing to wheels, small car park ding to passenger door, small scuff on rear bumper, usual few stone chips on front bumper and bonnet), these could be easily rectified and I have factored in overall condition to the price, but sensible offers are welcomed. Cheaper ones are available but do they have recent clutch/csc/flywheel, brakes, tyres and extensive other servicing and do they have a similar spec? Pictures in attached links: http://www.pistonhea...res/6018861?v=c http://www.ebay.co.u...-/252491705342? My first job was to ensure all the service items not already done were refreshed, including all fluids, spark plugs, front brakes, droplinks and greasing the driveshafts (£1,100). Including often missed or overlooked items such as clutch fluid and coolant. The Xtreme Clutch/Flywheel/CSC kit is a joy; the car revs more freely and the clutch action is smooth and precise (£1,500 including fitting). This is one big bill/hassle/worry you'll be spared! (the clutch slave cylinder, CSC, is located inside the gearbox in the final HR edition of the 350Z and therefore when this goes, it requires the gearbox to be removed. It makes sense to change the clutch whilst the gearbox is out and the car had covered 40k, and when clutches are replaced, it's recommended to change the flywheel at the same time with a Zed). Marcus’ work on the brakes and all contact surfaces (hubs/spacers/wheels) mean the brakes are now strong and true (£250 plus 450mile round trip). All ready for the new owner to enjoy! Michelin Pilot Super Sports (MPSS) are widely considered the go-to tyre on this forum and since fitting this new set, the steering, handling and braking has much improved (£560). Enjoy these freshly fitted tyres with 8mm all round, freshly valved and balanced! 16. I'd say yes, would need new tyres based on age and mileage covered. Is the car on it's original brakes as well? These may need doing soon too. Good luck!
  17. Old MPSSs came off; rears were on 2mm, fronts on 3-4mm. After fitting the new MPSSs (18s), I'm amazed at the difference it's made. The ride's more comfortable, the steering's more positive and traction's improved considerably; I'm now more confident driving and enjoying the experience even more!
  18. MPSS all round £560 incl fitting (& shopping around) Rears 245/45/18 (x2) £280 incl fitting Asda with code 1401234567 Fronts 225/45/18 (x2) £240 plus fitting Tyreleader Matching fronts and rears is advisable (as is buying new ones!)
  19. I've had a few screens replaced in my time due to stone chips. Every time I've been amazed at how much clearer the new screen is; old screens (ten years of driving etc) have lots of much smaller chips that aren't so noticeable until you've replaced it. Repairs are a bit rubbish as they often leave a mark that, as you've mentioned, would be really annoying. Plus there's the benefit of a new screen as I've mentioned, and as Ekona and GMballistic have said; a new windscreen is seen as a positive selling point. Had the windscreen replaced in mine recently; i'd happily pay the £70 excess again to get a new one if it became stone chipped in the future.
  20. Article in Modern Classics that suggests the 350Z values have reached their nadir and are on the upturn ðŸ‘
  21. I'd forgotten about camskill! Looked at them a few times over the years. Only thought of websites with 'tyre' in the name (I'd forgotten some of them but my browser reminded me!). This thread and the other one I've just seen in the General section, highlighted that Asda do tyres (& the deal-breaking 10% code), was also surprised that Amazon sell tyres too! Camskill aren't far off Tyreleader's prices and without the occaisional reports of tyres being lost in the post!
