  1. Yes! That's perfect Pm'd
  2. Another 3hrs driving now done, there's a little more vibration from the transmission tunnel at idle but the gearknob doesn't rock back and forth on/off throttle; also demonstrating how more accelerative & braking force can be transmitted to the road, and more precisely with better feel, rather than wasting it on unsettling drivetrain shunt! The exhaust now has a bit more rumble at idle & on the overrun, with slightly more burble N - better noise, non rattling V - bit more through gearknob at idle H - reduced as drivetrain shunt reduced
  3. No NVH issues after driving for several hours in commuter traffic. If anything, it's actually reduced NVH! Less clatter and reduced harshness as drivetrain movements are much better controlled
  4. Had this fitted today (hardened & much more rubber than the pathetic oem one) fast road NIS234M It has made a massive difference! Gearchanges are smoother and less jerky, I've also seen an improvement in acceleration and braking I bought from wg_motorparts on ebay https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F323416504257 Excellent customer service and competitively priced & couldn't find for sale by the forum sponsors on their websites. Very tempted to uprate the engine mounts as well to reduce the heavy front engine pendulum effect in corners & tighten up the drivetrain further to enhance acceleration, braking & prevent wear. Reckon this is more important than arbs & springs, but will prob do them as well, but may be later, after doing the engine mounts. VibraTechnics only do competition spec engine mounts & mine's a daily so thinking may be Hardrace? Rhdjapan have Sun ones but gets very expensive with delivery and import taxes so want to buy from UK distributor.
  5. https://www.driftworks.com/weighted-shift-knob.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI6dbSjML95gIVw_hRCh3CTwTMEAQYASABEgJvefD_BwE £37.80 delivered currently; I've ordered & will feedback
  6. Hi, thanks for letting me know so quickly; the search continues!
  7. Is this still available?
  8. Was wanting a MopedMark one but no reply yet, so looking at alternatives & feedback ones that others use please this one seems the most similar in size & shape & fits the all black interior https://www.torqen.uk/nissan/350z/body-styling/gear-knobs/11473-350z-mishimoto-weighted-shift-knob-black-mmsk-bk.html any experience with this one or others that people have found improve the gearshift (like I found with the Mopedmark I had in a prev zed) would be much appreciated
  9. Thank you! It was the best I could find and then spent spent spent! put carpet back in now plus brand new passenger setup and brand new Cup2s chap was meant to be collecting on Monday after leaving a £1k deposit and spending a lot of time discussing with the sales guy at Torque GT, so it's back up for sale https://www.torque-gt.co.uk/dc5-track-car-131119.html
  10. Thanks bud! It's had a lot of money spent on it, suspension, cage, diff, fd etc, was fun slowly developing it in to a track day car but can be driven to tracks
  11. Pref MopedMark one but will consider others
  12. This is the new car http://midwestperformance.co.uk/product/2007-nissan-350z-gt-313-hrcobra-exhaustsports-brakesnew-wheels/
  13. Might try ARBs first so I can feel the difference these provide, then see how it goes Swaying towards Eibach kit as lots of positive reviews on here. If I then decide to uprate springs / shocks, I might go for Tein Street Basis Z. They are 9kg F&R (v 7kg F&R for the S springs) so will be a little firmer, but the shocks and springs will be matched and can adjust to my desired ride height.
  14. Hi bud, I'll get round to pics, but here's a link to the DC5 in action https://youtu.be/OOsA63Pft0s
  15. Hi all, I appreciate there are many threads and opinions already available; I've read lots about arbs, springs, coilovers, engine mounts, camber arms and bolts, bushes and chassis braces. Hopefully my summary below is focussed and concise and may help others looking at the many options available. I'm aiming for a better handling car for a sensible outlay, whilst retaining comfort. The vague wobble, especially on technical b roads, side to side seemingly the most uncontrolled. It's my daily with approx 6 track days a year. I tempted by the Hotchkis sway bar & spring combo using oem droplinks (front ones only 2yrs & 10k old so would just get new rear ones) https://www.torqen.uk/nissan/350z/suspension-steering/swaybars/786-350z-hotchkis-swayspring-combo-stage-1-tvs-kit-80413-1.html The Hotchkis springs lower by 15mm at the front & 19mm at the rear. I want to reduce height as little as possible to retain clearance for our potholed, speed bumped roads and the car has an unscathed lip! Dropping the rear a bit is desired though as the gap is too big. The Eibach kit lowers by 30mm, the Whiteline kit by 25mm. Whiteline bars tend to rust on Clio 182s, guess the build quality will be the same. The Hotchkis has four settings on each bar for (may be too much) adjustability and is popular in the US, they market them as track tested and hollow (possibly saving weight, material & density as well as diameter all contributing to stiffness etc...!) Tein S springs are popular on here and lower by 17/14 (SKP24-AVB00) Had these on my prev Z and was happy with the height & that had a lip as well. I was planning to uprate to coilovers on that one as I found it didn't have the level of control for challenging b roads and on track. That car had oem arbs, so I'm reckoning the arb/spring combo may avert the need for coilovers, with lots of positive feedback for the difference both arbs and springs have on our cars. The previous 350Z was on 30k, so the dampers were much fresher than my current ones. I'm deliberating new dampers as my new 350Z is on 72k & it makes sense to fit at the same time as springs. Not sure re matching springs to shocks. Guess they're designed to work with the oem shocks, so KYB Excel-G would make the most sense (matching springs, cost & reputation) Tokico HP Blue are tempting as 25% firmer compression, so a slight upgrade without going down the crashy coilover route. Again unsure re optimal spring matching. https://www.torqen.uk/nissan/350z/suspension-steering/springs-shocks/934-350z-tokico-hp-blue-front-and-rear-shock-set-hu3742hu3743he3744.html Opinions, insights and experiences are sought & welcomed
  16. Picked up a 350Z today; great to be back in one! Since my last one, I've had the following cars: Honda Integra DC2 (great on a blast but not great as a commuter; lots spent on modifying) Mazda MX5 10th Anni (great fun but SUVs don't see you & try to drive over you!) Porsche Cayman S (987.2, amazing gearchange, steering, handling, build quality, sound etc! didn't feel comfortable driving round in a house deposit on finance when I didn't even have a mortgage and also attracted some unwanted attention / fear of damage etc) Renault Clio 200 (heavily modified, plated diff, cage; fun on track but I'm a bit old for these now & the gearboxes are very fragile; Akrapovic exhaust was wonderful!) Toyota GT86 (returned as shocking build quality - crunching gears; a characteristic of the car the main dealer tried telling me!) Ford Focus ST170 (amazing steering & handling, would get again as a cheap daily but needs the Recaros as std seats uncomfortable) Honda Integra DC5 (made in to a track toy - lots of money spent, running sphericals, plated diff, cage etc) VW Golf R32 mk4 (great all weather daily, bit firm and needed lots spent on maintenance) The 350Z is great! The sound, the punch, the look; it's all so right It's got a Cobra catback and sounds great but not too loud (previous Z had Berks cats, Stillen Y pipe as well but was too loud; it actually hurt & failed drive-by noise limits at Bedford & Brands) Thinking to uprate the suspension as it's a bit wallowly on the tight twisties; might try ARBs first rather than coilovers, as want to keep a supple ride as it's my daily, but hopefully will see a track or two at some point. First mods will be a weighted gearknob, probably a @Mopedmark one as this much improved the shifting feel on my previous Z, and a 380RS pedal as this really helped with heel and toe
  17. Back in a 350Z!

  18. Only kept the roadster for a month so this is almost brand new
