  1. Good shout choptop Looked at Costco & considered signing up as a member; currently £60 off 4 x Michelin tyres (17th June - 27th July) No stock currently of the 245/45/18. Cheap fitting incl nitrogen; £8.40 all in!
  2. The silver lining to Asda running out front MPSS stock overnight is: Two rear 245/45/18 MPSS Asda fitted: £279 incl the 10% discount Two front 225/45/18 MPSS Tyreleader: £240 delivered Last night, the fronts at Asda were £164 before discount, so £295 for both fitted incl discount; Tyreleader plus fitting works out about £20 cheaper. Tyreleader are selling the rears for £143, so are more expensive than Asda fitted incl discount. So the mix & match works out best either way; cost wise anyway - hopefully the fronts will be delivered in time for my scheduled rear tyre fitting!
  3. Thanks Randy_Baton I tried a few random 7 digits after the 140 in the Asda key box; didn't try 1401234567! They're out of fronts now and the online sales advisor told me it could take up to 6 weeks to get more in; at least I know a working code when they're back in stock!
  4. Looking at tyre websites today, Asda would've been the cheapest if the 10% discount code had worked; it's now expired, doh! Anyone have a current discount code for any of the tyre websites?
  5. Difficult car to replace! Does many things very well and great value. Defo don't go with an Evo X - just read the reviews; earlier Evos much better, so the reviews say. Lots of options to choose from. Have a think about what you're after; sticking with rwd coupe or awd saloon etc. Agree n/a rs4 more attractive than turbo but is an rs4 much cheaper to run than the m3 you were thinking about earlier? Use your head and follow your heart
  6. Haha! Think that was a combination of the other posts suggesting not getting yours mapped could be an option and to doubly encourage you to get it done / make you more comfortable spending the £400 odd Sorry, don't know any tuners in the Midlands so can't comment on this, but Horsham's price is about what you'll pay elsewhere
  7. I don't have decats, but when Horsham remapped mine, the area under the graph was much improved (more power & torque throughout the rev range, including removal of a small flat spot), as well as improving peak power and torque numbers. Essentially I'm saying that a remap will benefit you & your car a lot more than just removing your eml light and as you've mentioned, if running decats on the stock map may actually damage your engine, then surely it's a no-brainer? You'll also have a before & after graph of your power and torque
  8. Easily worth £13k! One of the best N/A 350Z's around
  9. Hi Edwin, If possible, I'll take one of the places created from the two who've bowed-out. Cheers
  10. Clutch fluid changes are sometimes overlooked as not in the service schedule (even though it's brake fluid!), this could contribute to jerky set-offs.
  11. Fitting the Xtreme clutch/single-mass flywheel/uprated slave cylinder kit made a massive difference to smooth pulling away in mine. Guess being brand new makes a big difference, but the action is improved over stock and the greater rev control / quicker throttle response helps too. Imagine you just need to get to know the car. I moved house with a 1.6 Astra SRi recently; getting back in the Z took me a few minutes to recalibrate!
  12. Welcome! Lovely looking motor you've got there Have a read in the exhaust section, popular choices choices include: Cobra, Invidia, Ark. Good idea to hear some options 'for real' as sound can be a quite a personal preference. Imagine you're aware, but choices also include whether you go for an aftermarket Y-pipe and high-flow cats, as these can make a big difference. A popular starting point is a Y-pipe back system; depends on your budget / plans / preference etc. Whichever system you choose, I'm sure you'll enjoy it
  13. Welcome Get the MPSS! They're brilliant and this viewpoint seems unanimous, whereas the potenzas don't fare as well. I'll be getting some more when i need them or may try the MPS4, depending on stocks of MPSS when the time comes.
  14. Haha! Was very gentle with mine when I drove it back in the rain in February after buying; didn't dare turn traction control off for a few months! Also called the previous owner to ask where the fuel flap release button was and then realised it only required a light touch
  15. Pm Keyser and/or buster Welcome to Bournemouth! What colour & year is yours? I'll keep a look out, seen a few zeds since moved here; mine's a silver 08
  16. Have liked mate! Was that new chassis rails per chance

  18. Saw a 'Stang! Amazing road presence; quite menacing! V8 yes please
  19. Looking at the metal shims listed by Clark Motorsport but was wondering whether other options are available?
  20. I've had two mk2.5s and loved them! Second was an upgrade from non-sport to sport, I sold because it felt too claustrophobic with the hood/hardtop up and winter was approaching. I tested a mk3 mx5 before buying my Z and found it cramped and underwhelming - it had an after market exhaust but I could barely hear it, felt slow and didn't have the instant sense of connection with the road / what the car was doing / fun as I'd had with previous 5's. Mk3s are known to need a geo setup and preferably lowering springs to improve the handling, this was improved somewhat on the mk3.5. I took a passenger ride in a mk3.5 at Cadwell, it had exhaust mods, mapped with meister r's and a few other mods; I was amazed at how much the driver could attack and easily keep up with more powerful and expensive machinery, although I'm not a good passenger so just wanted it to end! The car was impressive though! They'll always be the stigma around 5s but I guess that doesn't bother you as you've got one! The Z is a real step up. It's faster, louder (with a much sweeter six cylinder engine, esp HR), has low down torque, has real road presence, is much more spacious and well kitted out inside. It's heavier so isn't as nimble as a 5, but some suspension mods can improve this. As you've said, it's a more expensive car to buy and run. I enjoy my commute every day and the Z offers great capability to do long journeys, spirited country lanes and even has decent boot space (similar size to a 5's). I drove a DE roadster and was underwhelmed by the performance but surprised by the composed ride. A drive in an HR coupe with sticky tyres and exhaust mods was truely exhilirating, I was sold and that Z is now mine!
  21. 300bhp rwd masculine driver's car, with Japanese reliability, rarity factor and very good ratings accross the motoring press; pre-cayman, was the evo choice small coupe (5stars). TT isn't any of those things. A test drive in a good one (preferably HR with a decent aftermarket exhaust) should be all that's required!
  22. It's £1,128 (good value when you consider all the kit it contains) and fitting is between £300 and £400.
  23. Surprised these are still for sale; bargain price for a decent system!
