  1. Go for it Alex350z! The sound is immense and releases some welcome bhp & torque! Took mine off to meet stringent Brands Hatch GP circuit limits but put them back on a few weeks later as I missed the hightened sense of occasion and response that these provide. Great value for brand new ones!
  2. This is a good deal! Type of grease makes a difference; I imagine Sly will use appropriate grease.
  3. You may get a better deal & ensure you get the correct ones by buying from one of the traders on here
  4. Hi Darkside, Had this kit fitted a few months ago (HR) and it's brilliant! There's a slight clattery noise at low revs (<2k), sitting at lights, up the hill from the underground car park where I live, but it's not very loud and doesn't bother me. Can dip the clutch at the lights if you wish. The benefits outweigh this small downside: freer revving, much smoother and more accurate (I'm comparing to my previous 40k, 8yr-old oem clutch/flywheel/csc/bearings). It works really well and I'm happy I had it fitted. Go for it
  5. Looks great! Congrats & welcome!
  6. Worth a go! A dealer knocking back a cash offer? Depends how much you offer I guess!
  7. Turns out the buyer didn't realise they were HR ones. Have pm'd you!
  8. It's useful for those unexpected scary moments. Keep mine on if very wet / motorway etc. Mostly keep it turned off now; don't like trying to join a busy roundabout when a little slip occurs due to slightly dirty off line / tight junction / camber etc - a few degrees opposite lock and the rewarding sensation of a small slip angle rather than, oh I've had all my power cut and now I'm a sitting duck!

  10. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/107539-cobra-and-berk-hfcs-for-de-engine/#entry1614472 These are in budget for you RS8055, heat wrapped as well!
  11. I'm picking them up this weekend & the buyer's collecting the weekend after.
  12. Was just looking at changing as had been mentioned by some as a recommended service item (one of several items that appear on some lists but not others, e.g. clutch fluid!) - just wanted to make sure I was / am doing everything to maximise performance and longevity, hence changing coolant, plugs, steering and clutch fluid. Interesting what you say about the potential increase in strain on the coolant system by uprating the pressure spec of the rad cap. Might rethink this 'mod'!
  13. Sounds good Jetpilot! Have seen a blue and a bronze Z on the roads round here, is one of those yours?
  14. Lol! Supercharged Atom must have been an animal! I quite enjoyed my day at Bedford, despite the noise issues - apparently it was a windy day so it made the drive-by limits easier to exceed, and a lot of people did. At Bedford, at least when I was there with MSV, it was one strike and out with noise - if you were close you got a noise board but if you exceeded the limit, it was game over. At Brands, they at least give you a final chance to reduce the dB. A few people asked me how I didn't get black flagged for noise, as there's a long straight past the pit & apparently it was quite loud - the microphones are eay to spot, so I had to lift off / change up past them (was frustrating as you end up letting people past then overtaking them shortly after - sure a few must have thought wtf!) Few people were getting no drifting boards too (mainly M3s) - you can have a little fun with this it seems! Especially with the generous width of track and generous run off. Stock cats back on now, might go back at some point.
  15. Realise the last post was 3 years ago! I used moris, cost £150 for three track days (with having done 4 previous track days, 38, no accidents/points in last five years). It only covers impact etc on track, I opted to the mid-level personal injury insurance (£50k) and I think some form of excess waiver, need to check that, the option of recovery from track wasn't available despite being advertised. I have road insurance with Sky and was surprised that their track day insurance is separate, can't add it on as it seems you can with some of the others mentioned above. Useful thread; will look at the alternatives above when organising next years insurance.

  17. Welcome! Your Z looks great; enjoy!
  18. Although how much was the deposit? As they've messed you about and not actually done anything other than call a finance company (which they'll make commission on), could argue to get your deposit back. Either way, I agree that walking away from that one seems the right decision!
  19. I think you've made a good decision there. Good luck with your search!
  20. Sorry to hear about the owner running off with your money, well done for acting quickly to stop her leaving the country. Sounds like you're very familiar with the circuits; if I ever venture over there, I'll remember this thread.
  21. Yep... if I fully tighten it, and it will tighten nicely, then the markings don't line up... essentially, I cannot get combination of washers that allows it to tighten nicely with the markings lined up. I had the same, so when fully tightened (trying a variety of number of washers and position of lettering when commencing installation) and everytime it was fully tight, the lettering pointed south-east (4-5 o'clock), this happens to be pointing directly at the driver, so I thought it was a nice twist (boom-boom) and as it was late when I was fitting, I've kept it in that position!
