Not quite Neil. Warranty company told Connor he hadn't purchased the correct warranty product, Junction17 told him they didn't know of the warranty product being refered to by the company. I think the meeting was intended to educate Junction17 on what products they should be offering customers like Connor instead of spouting their usual "this is the best warranty you can buy, it covers everything m8" line.

No surprises there really Connor and It does reek of "being fobbed off". First the person who was trying to sort out the mess goes ill, then quits/fired. Now the so called warranty company directors don't show for a meeting? I don't know about the car dealership world but if one of my suppliers (warranty company) failed to attend a meeting I would be changing suppliers!

Our cars are relatively rare at the end of the day so I doubt you will find somewhere with a reconditioned 350z gearbox on the shelf,. I think your only options would be being without your car for X days while your gearbox is removed, reconditioned and refitted. Or sourcing a 2nd hand gearbox and sending it off to be reconditioned. The latter will be more expensive but less inconvience. Yes mine is a DE, but also lower mileage than yours (34k). I know the syncro's are prone but I would assume that only explains the crunch, not the whine in 1st. Have you driven another 350z to compare this percieved drivetrain issue with?

I cant help with the costs unfortunately but I just wanted to say Ive got exactly the same issues (whine in 1st, crunch going 1st to 2nd) but I just live with it, so I will be interested to know what you get quoted.

Yeah that is always the case maddog. Do you go current tech for use in a day to day environment (Windows7) or do you future proof and go Windows8. I can only speak from my company/clients but Windows7 is still very much the norm when it comes to the vast majority of the devices I deal with. It's your call theres no right/wrong answer as skills from either would be transferable.

You're best bet would be to invest in a micro-server and get a couple of VM's up and running and use this a practice environment to work through something like a Microsoft Windows 7 cert: https://www.microsoft.com/learning/en-gb/exam-70-685.aspx Pretty much any IT support role will require/benefit from having an offical Microsoft qualification under your belt. Without something like the above you will be restrained to HelpDesk type phone jobs.

It just seemed she was fishing for information to back her up in a dispute with the garage she purchased it from, I didnt want to get involved so i declined providing any information.

I know about the Youtube videos on disasembling the motor, replacing bushes etc but thats not my idea of easy DIY if it needs a Soldering Iron. Given the options of £300 Nissan OEM, £~120 used on eBay or £113 new from America I have made my choice.

I dont think they can beat £90.13 shipped for a new motor, even paying tax and duty that is still coming out cheaper than a used one from eBay (edit) Just bought it, £113.36 GBP all in with import charges. Random question, sorry if this is obvious: If i was to purchase a replacement Window motor from America for my drivers door, am I right in thinking I need to order the American RH (Passenger) motor to fit my UK RH (Drivers) door? Or do I need the American LH (Drivers) motor for my UK RH (Drivers) door? Cheers.

Same issue with me. Absolutely nothing changed (I hadnt even adjusted the seats) and underneath of both were clear. I simply got the car out of the garage and it started blinking, when i put it in the garage it was fine. The youtube video worked for me and it hasnt come back on now almost a week later.

Same issue here mate. Mine goes up and down via the switch without issue but the auto-pinch on door open doesn't work, it drops the window 1/3 down and it just stays there. If you try to raise it, it will re-drop to the same position. I have to over-write this 1/3 down position by holding the switch in the UP position until I hear a click. Like I said, doing the Nissan method with me inside with the door shut (be careful closing the door with glass fully raised) did the trick, but it only lasted 3 days before it stopped again.

I printed this out and followed it to the letter, it worked for 3 days for me then went back to being broken lol

I cant say I've encountered any issues with Windows updates both at home, or at work over the past 4yrs while being involved with the month to month patch cycle. Sure there has been instances where a Windows Update has caused problems with other 3rd party software (McAfee DLP for example) but thats down to McAfee, not Windows. Id imagine most "problems" are caused by other out-of-date systems/software/drivers rather than the Windows updates themselves. Most of our clients are currently migrating from WinXP to Win8.1 (skipping Win7) in order to qualify for the free Win10 upgrade later on.
