    As long as you tow it correctly (front wheels on the road), you should be OK? Assuming the tow truck can access your zed? A flat bed truck might be a safer option? Or even better if you can one of them in the picture attached.

    OEM boot poppers are expensive to buy new, around £30 each --> http://www.clarkmotorsport.co.uk/parts/Boot-Spring-Lift/84415-CD71A Used parts are slightly cheaper but risk of ending like the one you have now, around £15-£20 but difficult to get hold of. Try Alex he might have some.
