  1. Directional yes, GoodYear Eagle F1's, not a CAT C or bent... that I know of! Tyres have done about 3-500 miles since fitting
  2. Brand new tyres all round. It's a definite pull, even taking into account possible road camber
  3. I've just had my car aligned twice... and it's persistently pulling to the left. It's not really aggressive, but I can't take my hand off the wheel on a flat straight road (not that that's common practice!) without it veering over notably. All appears to be in spec using a hunter machine, but it was reading front camber with a couple of degrees discrepancy between left and right, which is odd given that it's stock and there's no camber adjustment?! Thoughts?

    Spraying of alloys!

You *should* be okay so long as the coater doesn't use excessive heat. I think around 200c is required. I've seen some good and some bad results from City powder Coaters - you pays your money and take your chance.
  5. Ah yes, previous experience includes a Kwik Fit driving my MR2 into a wall...
  6. My mate is the manager of my local and will fit my own tyres and align the car on a Hunter machine for a couple of quid, and do it all properly.... tenner to nigess please
  7. I'd take it somewhere else. Nothing wrong with the use of filler, but unless your arch is actually rotten, it should be taken back to bare metal, treated and then painted. Chucking filler over it and painting will only see it return fairly swiftly. £200 is very cheap though, given that both sides will need blending in - I'd be wanting a better job, which in turn will most likely cost more than £200
  8. The mind boggles how people can buy a performance vehicle and then shove any old rubbish tyres on - they're only the thing that connects said vehicle to the road!
  9. Man that really sucks, you never mess with someone's car. I hope they get their legs run over, this has made me angry to see, so can't imagine how you must feel!
  10. Here in Shropshire there's a local powder coaters that I've used quite a few times. Excellent job @ £130 for 4 wheels, includes blasting and powder coating. I know that's nowhere near you, but gives an indication on price.
  11. I can, but had so many cars that then start the alarm again when you're mid journey, with the hazards on etc - played it safe! For reference, I replaced batteries in both fobs and they worked with no programming.
  12. Just trying to get to work and both keys appear to have dead batteries now (should have sorted the spare sooner!) and unlocking it with the key sounds the alarm. Can I just go and shove a new battery in or will they require coding? Need advise asap as I need to sort right away and try and get into work Thanks all
  13. That will require the whole side of the car painting in order to blend it in, and the damage looks quite extensive, so it would be your call on whether to fit a new panel or not.
  14. I considered these yesterday before I purchased a new set online - too pricey IMO, these would have only been about £250 a set new and they're a used and obsolete tyre.
  15. Performance vehicles which have been modified (read: ruined) to perform worse than how they left the factory.
  16. That's an insane cost - and I wouldn't let a mobile repairer near it.
  17. This is a pretty decent summary to get your head around operating in manual mode http://www.exposureguide.com/exposure.htm
  18. Your second image is pretty under-exposed as the camera has based it's exposure on the well lit side of the car on the right. When you have a lot of contrast in lighting, it can be a tricky balance, as a camera is more primitive than our eyes at capturing the moment. The kit lens is also not the best for low light situations, as it isn't a particularly fast lens (the aperture doesn't open up particularly wide). In this scenario, a longer exposure might have helped, perhaps coupled with a tripod. However, these things can still be corrected to a certain extent, post shoot.
  19. Jump straight in and start using full manual mode - there's no excuse as we're working with digital, so you won't be wasting film! For photos that you like the look of, you can read the EXIF data using software, it will tell you what settings were used to take the shot, as well as the camera and lens used. Some of the photos above, if not all, have been processed in some way, most likely using Adobe's Lightroom - it's well worth investing in. Can you see how the center of the image is lighter? This is called vignetting. You can also adjust/correct exposure, colour balance, etc etc. Composition is also important and a post shoot crop can often improve an image if it wasn't ideally framed to begin with. I've cropped and applied a vignette to your first image...
  20. There is a guy on Facebook selling a set of rays with no tyres for 200 if that's cheap enough to solve your needed front wheel issue. I'd be interested in details if DaveyBoy isn't
  21. It happens on all cars with catalytic converters - the fuel system is lightly pressurised.
  22. The scientist who actually coined gluten intolerance has recently come out to say that it most likely doesn't exist! However, I don't think it's as clear cut as that. Globally we consume a ridiculous amount of processed food, made from very poor quality ingredients and a tonne of preservatives, enhancers and ultimately things we weren't designed to consume. Then there's the fact that almost everything that appears 'natural' has been meddled with in some way, whether it be genetic or otherwise. It doesn't take a genius to see that more and more people are having digestive issues in recent times and it only makes sense, in my opinion, to look at probable cause for the effect. People's opinion will differ, but for me it's a bit of a no-brainer. Gluten and dairy intolerance has given birth to an industry in itself, and a blanket term for people to identify with and blame, whether it be accurate or not. Look after yourself, listen to your body and don't come down on people too hard, even if you think gluten/dairy/whatever intolerance is a load of bull - it's likely they're feeling the effect of something that's highly uncomfortable, whether the self terminology is correct or not. Although I do agree, there's absolutely no need to make a song and dance about it.
  23. Was that blended in or just the bumper sprayed? It looks a completely different shade to me, although could be light trickery. The colour behind the Z badge looks to match the bonnet, as if the whole badge was masked off?
